00:00The WGA writers for The Drew Barrymore Show have decided not to return to the talk show
00:05following its controversy during the writer's strike. The daytime talk show is coming back
00:10October 16th, but WGA writers Chelsea White, Christina Kinnon, and Liz Coe have turned down
00:16an offer to return. Barrymore received major backlash last month when she announced in the
00:21midst of the writer's strike that her daytime talk show would make its fourth season debut
00:25without its striking writers. A week later, after negative reactions, guest cancellations,
00:30and Barrymore doubling down on her stance, she revealed that she'd be reversing course,
00:35pausing the show's return until the WGA strike concluded. Now with the three writers declining
00:41their offer to return, the production is now interviewing new writers and will be in
00:45compliance with the Guild. White, Kinnon, and Coe were visible and vocal in their protests during
00:50the show's initial return to production in mid-September, picketing outside of Drew's
00:54Manhattan studio on multiple days. Asked at the time whether they planned to return to the show
00:59once the strike was resolved, White simply said, maybe no comment. For more on this story,
