00:00Drew Barrymore is saying she will try to give guests on her talk show more personal space moving forward.
00:07The actress recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight after it was announced that the Drew
00:11Barrymore show scored a season six renewal ahead of its September 9th return. In the interview,
00:17she explained why she finds herself getting physically up close and personal when interacting
00:22with her guests. Well, I'll try to practice physical distance, which is not my strong point.
00:26Do you know how hard the COVID-19 pandemic was for me? I was alone in a studio by myself.
00:32I like to be around people. Barrymore has been known to get physically close with guests that
00:36she interviews on her show, but some viewers have noted online that certain guests don't seem all
00:41that thrilled to have the host so up close and personal. The Charlie's Angels actress acknowledged
00:46that it's, quote, not everyone's favorite part of her interviews, to which she's, quote, sorry to
00:51those people. However, she explained that she's always aiming to bring joy and laughter to her
00:55guests and viewers. I think that first of all, we're always going to be big on joy and laughter
01:00and feeling good. And that was something I always wanted to do. But I never thought we
01:04would launch in a pandemic. And trying to lean into the joy and the feel good and the comedy
01:08at that time was really weird and wacky. The renewal will take the Drew Barrymore show through
01:13the 2025-2026 season. For more on this story, head to THR.com. And for the latest entertainment
