The actress and host went head-to-head during a new competition on 'The Tonight Show.'
Transcript
00:00Jennifer Lawrence challenged Jimmy Fallon to an axe-throwing contest when she stopped by
00:08The Tonight Show to promote her latest film, Mother. And let's just say the odds weren't
00:12exactly in her favor. The competition began following a reluctant agreement from Fallon
00:16and an explanation of the rules. Each competitor was to throw an axe at a target with the outline
00:20of a cowboy, conveniently found in The Tonight Show prop room, of course. Each body part was
00:25worth a certain amount of points, and the person with the most points after three rounds won.
00:29So, sounds easy enough, right? Well, Fallon and Lawrence both missed on their first shots.
00:34But on his third and final throw, Fallon did this.
00:43Unfortunately for Lawrence, even though the Oscar-winning actress is known for her roles as
00:47Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games film series and as superhuman mystique in the X-Men franchise,
00:53her character skills don't seem to have translated into real-life axe-throwing talents.
00:57She failed to hit the board on all three tries. The game ultimately ended with Fallon winning
01:02by 12 points and Lawrence angrily taking an axe to the cowboy.
