On a show taped Tuesday and airing Wednesday, the host announced that her Warner Bros. talk show would continue its run for two more years.

00:13The talk show host shared the good news with everyone on her show, set to air Wednesday
00:18that The Ellen Show will continue its run for three more years, extending the show through
00:222022.
00:23The host also shared the early years of starting the show, saying that it was her second chance
00:27and explaining that she's continuing with it because she realized the larger impact the
00:31show had on viewers.
00:32I got letters from people telling me that I helped them go through chemo and that they
00:36were inspired by one of my guests or watching the show made them laugh for the very first
00:40time in a long time and that's why I'm going to keep doing this show for people like you.
00:45The host also joked that she wanted to be the first to announce the exciting news, but it
00:49had already leaked over the weekend and proceeded to play this clever little clip from the Game
00:53of Thrones series finale.
00:55The host also tweeted the news on Tuesday saying,
01:09"...doing the show has been the ride of my life," alongside a video of the segment where
01:13she made the announcement.
01:14Ellen previously hinted that the show will go on when she spoke to The Hollywood Reporter
01:18saying,
01:19"...I'll know when it's the end. I'll know when I feel it. And I don't feel that right now.
01:23So we'll see how long I go. But you know, I didn't think I'd go 16 years. This is crazy.
01:28I mean most shows don't."
