Hinchinbrook seat vacated prompting tense election

North Queensland voters are back to the polls to elect a new state member for Hinchinbrook. The seat was vacated last month prompting a by-election this Saturday. It's the first test for the Crisafulli government since the LNP took office with a crime-focused campaign last year.

01:00The LNP's pursuit of Hinchinbrook is a personal challenge for Premier David Christopherley.

01:06Beyond Townsville's northern suburbs, the electorate encompasses the Premier's hometown of Ingham.
