00:08The USA Basketball Women's National Team has just announced the 18 players who will be taking part

00:14in a training camp. This camp is scheduled for December 12-14 at Duke University in Durham,

00:20North Carolina. Now, let's talk about the players and their incredible experience.

00:25The camp will feature five athletes who just won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics,

00:30Kalia Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittany Griner, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young. Additionally,

00:37Derika Hamby won a bronze medal in the 3-0-3 basketball event at those same Paris 2024 games.

00:44Looking at World Cup success, Brianna Jones is a champion from the 2022 FIBA World Cup,

00:51a title she shares with teammates Kalia Copper and Chelsea Gray.

00:55Furthermore, Kelsey Plum and Brittany Griner are two-time World Cup champions. Plum won in 2022

01:01and 2018, while Griner won in 2018 and 2014. Aaliyah Boston, who has a long history of representing

01:08the USA in both junior and senior level events, is also expected to be in Durham. A significant part

01:15of this camp is the introduction of new talent. Ten players will be making their debut at a senior

01:20national team camp. These newcomers are Lauren Betts, Cameron Brink, Paige Buchers, Veronica

01:26Burton, Sonia Citrin, Kaitlyn Clark, Kiki Iriafen, Rikia Jackson, Angel Reese, and Juju Watkins.

01:34Many of these players already have some USA basketball experience, for instance, Lauren Betts,

01:39Aaliyah Boston, Veronica Burton, Rikia Jackson, and Angel Reese have all competed in the FIBA

01:45Women's America Cup. Also, Betts, Boston, Brink, Buickers, Citrin, Clark, and Watkins have all won

01:54gold medals in various junior level international competitions. For one player, Kiki Iriafen,

02:00this camp in Durham will mark her very first time ever playing for USA basketball. There's also a strong

02:06element of 3x3 basketball experience in this group. This includes Olympic medalists like Kelsey Plum,

02:132021 gold, Jackie Young, 2021 gold, and Dorika Hamby. It also includes World Cup gold medalist

02:20Cameron Brink, 2023, and AmeriCup medalist Veronica Burton, 2022 silver, Dorika Hamby, 2023 gold, and

02:29Brianna Jones, 2021 gold. On the junior side, Aaliyah Boston, Paige Buchers, and Rikia Jackson

02:36have also played for USA basketball. In three outings, three competitions leading this training

02:41camp will be Kara Lawson, the head coach of the USA basketball women's national team for the 2025-28

02:48period, who is also the head coach at Duke University. She will be assisted by a staff of court coaches,

02:54Natalie Nakase from the Golden State Valkyries, Nate Tibbetts from the Phoenix Mercury, and Stephanie White

03:00from the Indiana Fever. Let me tell you a bit about the coaching staff's credentials. Stephanie White,

03:06who was the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year, also participated in the April 2024 training camp as a

03:13court coach. She has a playing history with Team USA at the 1997 Jones Cup and the 1994 U.S.

03:20Olympic Festival. In the 2025 WNBA season, she led the Indiana Fever to a franchise record 24 wins.

03:29Nate Tibbetts, who just reached the WNBA finals in 2025 with the Phoenix Mercury, previously served as

03:36head coach for the USA men's Pan-American Games team, which finished in third place back in 2011.

03:44Natalie Nakase, the 2025 WNBA Coach of the Year, will be making her USA basketball coaching debut.

03:52In her first year as a head coach, she helped the Valkyries achieve AESA's historic feat by becoming
