00:001-0-2 win over the San Antonio Spurs from Sunday night.
00:12The Phoenix Suns managed to secure a 111-102 victory, and a big part of that win was due to
00:18some unexpected standout performances. The story of the night was Jordan Goodwin,
00:22with Ryan Dunn out. Goodwin was inserted into the starting lineup and this was actually his
00:27first start all season. In fact, during the 40 games he played with the Suns back in the 2023-24
00:34season, the scrappy guard never started a single game. He made the most of this opportunity,
00:39playing 32 minutes and registering a double-double. He ended up with 15 points,
00:44shooting 7 for 15 from the field, and he also grabbed 10 rebounds while dishing out 3 assists,
00:49a really productive night for him and he wasn't alone. Colin Gillespie, who you'll remember hit
00:54that game-winning shot against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, continued his excellent
00:59play. With an expanded role, he scored 15 points in his 29 minutes on the court. Now the leading
01:05scorer for the Suns was actually Dylan Brooks, who put up 25 points, along with 2 assists and 3
01:11rebounds. On the other side, the San Antonio Spurs were dealing with some significant absences.
01:17They were missing several players, including their star Victor Wembenyama and rookie Stefan
01:21Castle. Despite that, De'Aaron Fox led the Spurs in scoring with 26 points. Interestingly,
01:27he only made 5 of his 11 shots from the field. A big chunk of his points, 14 to be exact,
01:33came from the free throw line. A lot of the credit for containing him goes to Jordan Goodwin,
01:38who handled that defensive matchup for much of the game, essentially replacing Dunn's defense in the
01:43starting lineup. It wasn't an easy win for Phoenix though, they got off to a slow start,
01:48and were actually trailing at halftime, 56-49, but they turned it around in a big way in the second
01:54half. Outscoring the Spurs, 62-46 to secure their third straight victory, this brings their season
02:01record to 11 wins and 6 losses. Looking ahead, the Suns finish their 3-game homestand with a quick
02:07turnaround, playing again on Monday night against the Houston Rockets. One thing to note for that game,
02:14former Sun Kevin Durant will not be playing due to a family matter. With that upcoming matchup in
02:19mind, what do you see as the main reason for the Suns' current 3-game winning streak?
02:25Worrying to read the nuts and guts and diedo.
