Jon Stewart is sticking with 'The Daily Show.' Comedy Central announced that Stewart has signed an extension that will keep him as a once-a-week host and full-time executive producer of 'The Daily Show' through December 2025. The news comes just over nine months after Stewart made a deal to return to the show that he hosted from 1998 to 2015.

00:03Comedy Central announced on Monday that Stewart has signed an extension

00:23The news comes just over nine months after Stewart made a deal
00:26to return to the show that he hosted from 1998 to 2015.
00:30That initial deal had Stewart hosting the show once a week,
00:33usually on Monday nights, through the presidential election.
00:36With Election Day looming and Stewart set to host a live hour-long special on November 5th,
00:41the extension will keep Stewart on The Daily Show
00:43through the first year of the next president's term.
00:46Stewart said in a statement,
00:47I've truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team
00:50at The Daily Show and Comedy Central.
00:52I was really hoping they'd allow me to do every other Monday,
00:54but I'll just have to suck it up.
00:56The Daily Show won its second straight Emmy for Best Talk Series in September,
01:00and ratings have improved substantially since Stewart's return in February.
