00:00The Daily Show will broadcast live from the two major political conventions this summer,
00:04with Jon Stewart hosting.
00:07The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal that Comedy Central's late-night show will go
00:11live on the final night of each convention. That's July 18th for the Republicans in Milwaukee,
00:16and August 22nd for the Democrats in Chicago.
00:19The Daily Show has enjoyed a sizable upswing in ratings since Stewart's return in February.
00:24Since he's hosting the live episodes, he'll move from his usual Monday night spot in the
00:28anchor's chair to the end of the week for the special broadcasts.
00:31The show's news team will host the Monday through Wednesday shows on location during
00:34the convention weeks. They'll be taped a few hours ahead of airing.
00:38Ticket requests to attend the shows in both Milwaukee and Chicago are open on 1iota.com.
00:43The 2024 conventions will resume a Daily Show tradition of traveling for the National Party
00:48Conventions and presidential election years. The show didn't travel in 2020 when it was in
00:52remote production during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the conventions
00:57were scaled back considerably. Prior to that, the Daily Show went on the road to at least one
01:02of the convention cities every four years, dating back to 2000. For much more on this story and all
