00:00If I got to blame one person and one person only for where the Bills are right now, and look, are the Bills going to make the playoffs?
00:07They're 7-4. They still have a great shot to make the playoffs.
00:11It'd be one of the great disasters in modern NFL history if the Buffalo Bills at 7-4 did not make the playoffs now, all right?
00:20And they are in for the moment.
00:22They have two gimmies. Their schedule's tough.
00:26But still, at 7-4, you have to make the playoffs.
00:29No, they have to, but I wouldn't be shocked if they only won nine.
00:33Which would be a problem for them, obviously, and I think would create major changes in Buffalo with the coaching staff, as you see the schedule, and with the general manager.
00:42But can we all agree to something right now?
00:44Josh Allen is not the best quarterback in football.
00:48Josh Allen is not the guy with this current roster that's going to overcome the things that are problematic with the Bills and lead them to hard-fought wins.
00:58Josh Allen is a bully.
01:00Josh Allen and the Bills play bully ball.
01:02When they play against weak teams, they beat the hell out of them.
01:05When they play against bad defenses, for sure, they drop 30 and 40 burgers like it ain't nothing.
01:10And you look at them and go, wow.
01:12Oh, that Josh Allen.
01:14You know, last week, six touchdowns.
01:16Three passing, three rushing.
01:18Oh, Josh Allen is back.
01:20Oh, the Bills are back.
01:21But last night, they played the best defensive football, and Josh Allen looked like a rookie quarterback.
01:27Josh Allen was not in control of that game.
01:29And then it dawned on me, to be fair to Josh Allen, because we have made the comment on this show many, many times, that he probably does more with less.
01:38You know, Mahomes had that kind of same reputation for a while.
01:41Like, you know, we're the Pro Bowl wide receivers, right?
01:44Right.
01:44Now, Mahomes has had more of them, for sure, than Josh Allen has had.
01:49But this particular year, you know, I'm thinking about it, and I say to myself, well, what do the Bills need more than anything else?
01:55They need a legitimate number one wide receiver.
01:58Okay.
01:59They thought they drafted one in Keon Coleman.
02:02And again, last night, he was a healthy scratch, because apparently he doesn't like going to meetings.
02:07And he's missed a couple meetings there.
02:09And Sean McDermott has to make an example out of him and remind him in his second year, this is a job.
02:16You're a professional.
02:17And if you don't act like a professional, we're not going to play you, even though not playing you makes it harder for us to win.
02:25They might have won last night's game if Keon Coleman's on the field, because when he's at his best, he's damn good.
02:31Right.
02:31And it's a one-score game.
02:32Yeah.
02:33One-score game.
02:33You lost by four points.
02:34Yeah.
02:34Like, if Coleman's on the field, now I'm not saying Coleman's a second coming of Jerry Rice, but he's a really good kid.
02:40Right.
02:41A really good football player.
02:42Right.
02:42And you can convert a couple of those third downs along the way and win the game.
02:45Yeah.
02:45So, okay, I respect Sean McDermott saying I need to teach the kid a lesson if he wants to have a career here, and that's called tough love, and we're all down with that.
02:54But it also may have cost you a football game that's going to hurt you when it comes to the wild card and your ability to get into the postseason.
03:01But the other thing I keep going back to, and it drives me crazy, like, the NFL's filled with really talented prima donnas.
03:10We know that.
03:10There's some guys that are just more trouble than it's worth, it feels like, right?
03:15Mm-hmm.
03:15But you cannot dispute talent.
03:18And when you have talent, my feeling is always you have to embrace that talent and never let it go.
03:24Doesn't mean you can't be a tough love guy, because I think that's part of, you know, the relationship coach-to-player, but you don't let great talent go.
03:33And what's the one thing the Buffalo Bills are missing?
03:36A great wide receiver.
03:38They let Stefan Diggs walk out the door, got nothing in return, essentially, all right, and it cost them $30 million in dead cap money a year ago.
03:50Yep.
03:51Stefan Diggs is now playing wide receiver for the best team in the AFC.
03:56And no one in New England seems to have a problem with Stefan Diggs since he had the boat incident with the pink, we think, cocaine, right?
04:03We think, yes.
04:04We think it was pink cocaine.
04:06We didn't see him doing it, but he had it, and a bunch of hot broads are on the boat with him.
04:10It is what it is.
04:11They've gotten past it, and Mike Vrabel talked to him about, you know, the bad look that was involved in it, right?
04:16Keep the phones over.
04:17But outside of that, Stefan Diggs seems to be like the most popular dude in the Patriots' locker room.
04:23And the Patriots are a better team because they have Stefan Diggs.
04:27The Bills let him walk and ate $30 million in dead cap money.
04:31The Bills' window is closed.
04:34The Bills were supposed to be the team when Tom Brady moved to Tampa and then retired that dominated not just the AFC East, but the AFC.
04:43Two AFC championship games, can't beat Patrick Mahomes in the postseason, and now it's a wrap.
04:49Now the Bills' dominance is over.
04:52And now we have to start questioning, who is Josh Allen?
04:56And I made this comment, and you guys all mocked me when I made it.
05:00There are a certain number of guys, not a lot of them, but there's a small group of great players who suddenly don't play quite as well once they fall in love.
05:10And Josh Allen, I'm afraid, is the stereotype now, the poster child of what happened to Josh Allen.
05:21And the immediate answer might be love.
