00:00Welcome to the True Crime and Mystery Lounge. Today we're going to talk about a
00:07man who unknowingly predicted his own death. That man is Omar Khorshid and he
00:18was an Egyptian musician. Born in April 9, 1945 to rich parents,
00:29he showed interest in music at a very early age and grew up to be one of the
00:38pioneers that introduced Western music to the Egyptian culture.
00:49After his death in 1981, his best friend Hassan told the chilling story that he
00:59kept secretive as he promised Omar. As long as he's alive, he will not tell anyone about it.
01:12Hassan had an interview back in the 80s with a very famous Egyptian magazine,
01:19the cover celebrities, news, called El Kawakib, which translates in English to the planets,
01:29that Omar this was predicted before it happened, but it was not predicted by a human being.
01:38It was indeed predicted by another entity, his non-human best friend,
01:46a 1700 years old genie. And for those of you who don't know what a genie is,
01:53it's a fourth dimensional being with superpowers in the Arabian culture.
01:59Hassan said that one night, Omar went to work on a musical movie they were making together in his office,
02:19and the power went off, so Omar went to light the candles. But every time he lit a candle,
02:28the flame would immediately disappear. After trying it multiple times, he said loudly,
02:36Is someone trying to mess with me? And a strange, deep voice answered, saying,
02:43Omar got so scared that he left his office and went home. But the next day he decided that he would go
03:03back to the office and continue working on his project. He did not think seriously of what happened
03:11that night before, and he thought maybe he was just too tired and hallucinating.
03:18But the surprise was, the moment he entered his office, he found all the candles are lit from last
03:32night, and none of them melted. He was frightened and surprised. In the same time, he tried to blow
03:41out the candles, but none of them would. And then he felt a heavy pressure on his shoulders,
03:49and a voice saying, Don't worry Omar, I am not here to hurt you.
03:58Omar called his friend Hassan, to inform him that he will stop working on the musical film project,
04:06and instead he wants to work on a horror movie project. Hassan said he was surprised because that
04:13does not sound like him. He's always been a happy person, never into horror or dark stuff.
04:26But Omar told Hassan, I will explain, I have been having that urge since I met my 1700 years old
04:36genie friend, and that's what he wants me to do. Hassan did not believe that, at first,
04:43and he asked Omar more questions about his so-called invisible friend. And while the conversation was
04:52happening, the power started to flicker, until Omar stopped talking about him, and said to Hassan,
05:00I cannot tell you everything he told me. But there is one thing that I cannot understand, that the genie told me,
05:15that if I tell anyone about our secrets, then I will see my reflection on a shattered glass,
05:22glass, while a red volcano would erupt on a black lava. Hassan was so confused, and did not understand
05:36what that meant, until May 29, 1981, when Omar died in a car crash, when the last thing Omar saw was his
05:47reflection in the shattered car glass. The car glass shattered to pieces, and hit Omar's neck,
05:55which resulted in the black asphalt, to be covered in his blood.
06:05So what do you think? Was it all just a coincidence? Or was it vengeance from an entity from a different
