Patagonian giants were a race of giant humans rumoured to be living in Patagonia,  a geographical region that encompasses the southern end of South America, governed  by Argentina and Chile. Tales of these people would maintain a hold upon European  conceptions of the region for nearly 300 years. Are they real or myth?  #kap dwa #GiantofPatagonia #mystery

00:00Welcome to the True Crime and Mystery Lounge.

00:04Today we travel to South America to witness something very bizarre.

00:09Today we get to know the giants of Patagonia.

00:15Patagonia means Big Feet and it was named after Mechelen the Spanish sailor.

00:21When he found giants that lived there in that area around late 1500's

00:28and he called it area Patagonia or the giants of Patagonia.

00:36But there was a special giant with two heads who they named Capdua

00:43and he was over 12 feet tall.

00:47The two heads had a mind of their own and the giant understood sign language

00:53so they offered him food.

00:57Weirdly enough one head would eat while the other one was surveying.

01:04Sometimes both heads would eat together.

01:07Sometimes one head would eat and the other drinks.

01:12They would also start to talk to each other.

01:16If one of them start to get aggravated, the other one would start to come down.

01:26The giant was a cannibal and Mechelen tried to capture him.

01:31But he escaped after he ate four Spanish sailors.

01:37And sadly, while he was trying to escape, he was killed by a spear to the heart.

01:43His body was mummified and ended up at Weston's Bernbeck until Lord Thomas Howard bought it in 1959.

01:56But as we speak today, the mummy is located in Baltimore, Maryland in the strange coalition owned by Robert Gerber and his wife.
