Tassili n'Ajjer is a national park in the Sahara desert, located on a vast plateau in southeastern Algeria.  Having one of the most important groupings of prehistoric cave art in the world. 00:01Welcome to the True Crime and Mystery Lounge. Today we travel to Algeria, a

00:07beautiful country in Northwest Africa. But today is not about beauty, it's about

00:13mystery. Just outside of the desert oasis in southern Algeria, you will see a

00:23national park that looks unreal. It looks like an alien landscape, where sandstone

00:31rock formations became the art gallery for roughly around 15,000 prehistoric

00:37carvings and paintings. We are at the caves of Tassili.

00:45Archaeologists have estimated the paintings to be around 7,000 years ago,

00:53and according to UNESCO that place hold the world's most important clusters of

00:59prehistoric art, where it shows animals' migration, human lives, and climate change.

01:09The first group of drawings shows the face of humans herding sheep,

01:14second face showing paintings of camels, horses, and wheels, which indicates that

01:21the artwork is from the Neolithic period, back when that Sahara desert place used

01:28to be more like a savanna, filled with wildlife, where you find paintings of

01:33these animals painted on the rocks, but they no longer live in that area anymore.

01:41The cave drawings represent nowadays social media for people back then, where you will

01:49find drawings of humans hunting, dancing, and going about their daily lives. But among

01:55all these drawings, you start looking at the surface, and you see the unusual ones. You

02:01see a painting of strange, mysterious beings that doesn't look like anything we have ever

02:06known. Those beings looked like ancient astronauts, with helmets, strange suits, and gloves, which

02:15according to researchers, this could be yet the best evidence that our Earth was indeed a place

02:21for alien visitors in the past. Archaeologists were able to date all other paintings of humans,

02:30animals, and plants, but they have failed to understand or date the strange humanoid paintings.

02:38In 1976, a Spanish researcher have came to the conclusion that alien life have visited that

02:46area multiple times in the past after discovering a painting that shows several women being taken

02:53into a bizarre looking craft. More research found out that the ancient people of that area used to

03:01name these mysterious beings as sky people.
