00:00All politicians do this, but especially Democrats, they know how to wage word wars.
00:05And in fact, they want to wage word wars more than they want to, or even can, solve problems.
00:13Have Democrats actually done better on the problem of the homeless?
00:17I would suggest they haven't.
00:19But what they can do, and what they have done very aggressively, is rebrand the homeless the unhoused.
00:25There, now it's solved, right?
00:30Democrats did great on election day because they found the right formula.
00:34But it might not even be a formula, it might just be a word.
00:37Do you know the word?
00:38Yes, you do.
00:39You heard the word, especially if you live in New Jersey, Virginia, and New York City.
00:44Affordability.
00:45And what kind of focus did the Democratic candidates there have on affordability?
00:49Well, Pod Save America had the campaign managers for Spanberger, Cheryl, and Mom, Donnie.
00:54And they all cited a certain kind of focus.
00:56Relentlessly focused on talking about driving down costs.
00:59Laser focus on an affordability crisis.
01:02It's laser focused on what matters most, lowering costs, boosting the economy.
01:06Laser focus.
01:07Now remember the last election when Trump beat Kamala Harris?
01:10We won!
01:11We accept the results.
01:13There, the Democrats had a different message.
01:15It was authoritarianism.
01:17We might not have a country.
01:19Donald Trump countered with, yeah, I don't know if you might not have a country.
01:22I know you might not be able to afford eggs.
01:24And that was more compelling to voters.
01:26So now the Democrats got wise.
01:28Also, they looked at Donald Trump's tariff policies and said,
01:31Oh, affordability.
01:33It's Trump's fault.
01:34We're the solution.
01:35I don't know if Democrats and their policies are the solution.
01:38I don't even know if they really have policies.
