'Joker' leads the nominees with a total of 11 mentions, including best picture, where it'll compete alongside '1917,' 'Ford v Ferrari,' 'The Irishman,' 'Jojo Rabbit,' 'Little Women,' 'Marriage Story,' 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' and 'Parasite.'

00:04Academy Awards are officially in.
00:08The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
00:10delivered their nominations for the 2020 Oscars,
00:13announcing nominees in a total of 24 categories,
00:16and the film that's leading the pack
00:17is Todd Phillips' Joker.
00:19The film earned a total of 11 nominations,
00:21including Best Picture, Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix,
00:25Best Directing for Phillips,
00:26and Best Adapted Screenplay for Phillips and Scott Silver.
00:30In addition to Joker, eight other films
00:32are up for Best Picture, 1917, Ford vs. Ferrari,
00:37Jojo Rabbit, Little Women, Marriage Story,
00:42Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Parasite.
00:45And of course, we have to talk about individual nominations.
00:48Scarlett Johansson scored a double acting nomination,
00:51a Best Actress Nom for Marriage Story,
00:53and Best Supporting Actress nomination
00:55for her work in Jojo Rabbit.
00:57Joining Johansson in the Best Actress category
00:59is Saoirse Ronan for Little Women,
01:01Charlize Theron for Bombshell,
01:04Renee Zellweger for Judy,
01:06and Cynthia Erivo for Harriet.
01:08The multi-hyphenate is also up for Best Original Song
01:11for Stand Up at this year's ceremony.
01:13And rounding out the Best Supporting Actress category
01:15alongside Johansson is Kathy Bates for Richard Jewell,

01:26Onto the guys, nominations for Best Actor

01:36Joaquin Phoenix for Joker,
01:38and Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes.
01:41The nominees for Best Supporting Actor are Brad Pitt
01:44for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,
01:46Al Pacino for The Irishman,
01:48Joe Pesci for The Irishman,
01:50Tom Hanks for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,
01:53and Anthony Hopkins for The Two Popes.
01:55Women were unfortunately snubbed
01:57from this year's Best Director category.
01:59Nominations were handed out to Bong Joon-ho for Parasite,
02:03Sam Mendes for 1917,
02:06Todd Phillips for Joker,
02:08Martin Scorsese for The Irishman,
02:10and Quentin Tarantino for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
02:13The Oscars is also set to go hostless again
02:16for the 2020 ceremony.
02:18ABC Entertainment president Kerry Burke
02:19made the announcement last week,
02:21stressing that the ceremony would repeat
02:23what worked last year, saying,
02:25let me confirm it now, together with the Academy,
02:27that there will be no traditional host this year.
02:30The 92nd Academy Awards is set to air
02:32Sunday, February 9th on ABC.
