00:00Riley Greene. Hello. How are you doing? How are you doing? Y'all both interviewed me. Yes. Both of us together. That makes me nervous. Okay. Yeah. Nice and cozy in here, I guess. But yeah, well, Riley, what a year you've had. You are nominated and it's just so cool to see the way that your trajectory, I mean, even as a solo artist and a collaborator, what is something that keeps you staying true to who you are in the country music space as you continue in your journey?
00:26Well, it's definitely the fans. I mean, we play shows every weekend. So anytime I try to do something that's a little different or not, you know, authentic to me, the fans will let you know if it's a song that's not real. And, you know, going out on the road and seeing them every week and trying new things, trying new songs, they let you know what they like.
00:43Yeah, it's true. And I mean, You Look Like You Love Me is always a huge hit nominated for a bunch of awards tonight. I mean, how does it, I mean, you sing the song, like you said, every week. How do you keep it exciting? Every single, is it seeing the different fans in the crowd? Like, how is it that that song keeps, it's the gift that keeps on giving in some ways?
01:01Well, I remember when I toured with Brad Paisley and Derek Spentley and Luke Bryan and all these guys, they've done it for years, and they play the same songs every night, year after year. And you just got to think that it's somebody's first time seeing you play that song. So you got to bring that enthusiasm and energy. And it also helps when it's a hit, you know, because people are singing it back to you. It makes it a lot more fun.
01:20Well said. Well said. Riley, you talk about how much you love country music to its core. How are you feeling about, and I know that it's a little bit of a hot take because it's kind of becoming more and more prominent, but all of these AI artists hitting the scenes with country songs and those going up the charts. How are you feeling about it?
01:38I don't really know a lot about that. I hope that that's not happening. But I'll say that I don't think there's any AI situation where you can really put true emotion into something.
01:49You know, I mean, you can tell the computer to say this or that, but the storytelling is what I think makes country music. So I think only a human who's been through those emotions and felt them can really do that.
01:59I mean, with your song, Grandpa's Never Die. I mean, I let your calculator write that song.
02:04You know what I'm saying? Exactly. And let them go out and play for real people and connect to those hearts like you did. Seriously. Thank you so much for chatting with us. We're excited for you.
02:12Congratulations on everything. Congrats on your win today.
