01:16Wealthy Wealthy Wealthy and Wise
01:18And what a wild and wise ride
01:20It's been
01:22Today we have a beauty
01:24To finish on
01:26Now you know me of course
01:28I'm Chrissy Swan and if you don't know me
01:30I'm still Chrissy Swan unfortunately
01:32This show has been all about looking for the smart, fun, practical ways to help life tick along
01:42And many laughs of course have come from this man, the gorgeous Ash Wicks
01:50Start of my own clap thing there
01:52Let's kick off this finale in style
01:56Our food adventurer
01:58The inimitable Vincent Dim Sim Lim is out among the vineyards, lucky for some
02:04Exploring how changing weather and conditions affect the taste of grapes
02:09And how the right food can make that wine sing like a bird
02:15Let's take a look
02:16Today I'm here in Negambi, two hours north of Melbourne
02:21To check out Tyne Rose's winery
02:23I'm a chef and I know food, these guys they know wines
02:26Let's see what their wines can do for my recipes
02:29So Tyne Rose's have made some award winning wines
02:32And I'm here to meet the woman behind it, Narelle King
02:37Wow this place smells incredible
02:39Yeah it's good isn't it?
02:40So how did you get into winemaking?
02:41I'm an accountant by trade, had a bit of a midlife crisis
02:44Met a lovely lady, got me interested in wine
02:46And eventually I changed careers
02:48Met my business partner Don
02:50We used to make wine for a Spanish company
02:52And one year when we came back
02:53Some friends suggested that we make Mediterranean grape varieties in central Victoria
02:57We specialise in Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo
03:02And you guys have an award winning wine?
03:03Pinot Grigio won the best Pinot Grigio of the year for James Halliday's 2026 book
03:08Oh amazing, congratulations
03:09Yeah it's been great
03:10That's our 2025
03:15It's fresh, it's citrusy, you can see some lovely fruit characters
03:19I think I actually prefer this one
03:20Yeah
03:21Have you tried cooking with it?
03:22I've tried cooking and drinking next to it
03:24I've got a recipe in mind that would be perfect for this wine
03:27Me and Narelle are headed to Kennedy Vineyards in Heathcote
03:30Where they source grapes for some of their wines
03:33Shoots are looking really beautiful
03:35The beginnings of these little bunches will flower first week of November
03:38A couple of weeks later the berries will start to form
03:40After that it's just the growing season
03:42They'll get all those ripe characters in the beginning of March
03:45So when will they be in bottles?
03:48After we pick them in March they go through the fermentation process
03:51And they mature in barrel for probably 10 to 12 months
03:54Oh wow
03:55So in the shops the following year
03:57So if you buy a bottle of wine in 2027 in March
04:01You'll be drinking from these grapes?
04:03Yeah, pretty much
04:04Wow, that is a huge process
04:06Luckily we don't need to wait two years for my cooking
04:08We can go get some now
04:09Well we've got a fire pit down by the sheds
04:11Yeah, yeah, ready to go
04:12Okay, perfect, let's go then
04:13Okay
04:14We're going to put an Asian twist on a BBQ favourite
04:16Guaranteed to win over guests at the next cook up
04:19Rolling
04:20We'll just wait for that gust
04:22We're cooking amongst the vines in the windiest day ever
04:26Today we're going to be making cumin lamb skewers
04:29We've got beautiful wine here
04:31Usually in Chinese cuisine we actually use Shaoxing wine
04:34I'm super excited to see how this compares
04:36Garlic and ginger in the bowl
04:39Just to get rid of the gaminess
04:41Add a splash of soy sauce into the mix
04:45Tiny pinch of salt
04:48Now we're going to add cumin
04:49Cumin is going to further get rid of that gaminess from the lamb
04:52Now we're going to hit it with meat velvet
04:54This is going to tenderize
04:55Oh my gosh
04:56Oh that went in my eye
04:58This is going to tenderize the lamb
05:00It's so windy today
05:01Just a little bit in there
05:02Add a splash of oil
05:04This is going to keep it nice and moist when you're cooking it over the fire
05:07I've been out in the vines
05:09We just touched soil
05:10So gloves to marinate
05:13Massage it in
05:15There shouldn't be any water down the bottom
05:21Can we get that wine open for us?
05:23Thank you
05:25Now while I'm massaging
05:27I'm going to slowly add the wine in
05:29Because we're using cumin
05:30I want to cut it with the fruity notes of the wine
05:31So it's going to be nice and fresh
05:33The meat velvet together with the wine
05:35It's going to absorb all into the lamb
05:37If you guys are skewering at home
05:39You can use wooden
05:40You can use metal
05:41It doesn't matter
05:42Go from the bottom up
05:43And skewer it straight through
05:45Just like that
05:46Super easy to whip out at a family barbecue
05:51So hard to skewer
05:54Just about that big
05:55Whether you're in Turkey, Shanghai, Melbourne
05:58Almost every culture has a version of these
06:01Alright, these are looking pretty good
06:02And I can feel the fire heating up behind me
06:04So let's get started grilling
06:06Probably about three minutes on each side
06:10Depends on how hot the fire is
06:12While the lamb's cooking
06:14We're going to make the seasoning for the top
06:16Chilli flakes
06:17Cumin seeds
06:18Grind them up
06:20Over the lamb
06:22Dynasty five spice
06:24Now we give it a flip
06:25Whoo
06:29Oh my eyeballs
06:30Holy cow
06:32A little bit of oil to give it that shine
06:34Lamb on the plate
06:36This is a balancing act
06:37We're going to top it off
06:38With a little bit more of that cumin and chilli
06:40Looks good huh?
06:41Oh my stars
06:42It looks amazing
06:43I'll trade you one skewer for a glass
06:44That's a deal
06:45There you go
06:46Smells fantastic
06:51How do you do this?
06:56Oh damn
06:59Oh yeah
07:00You know what?
07:01This might actually be better than my original
07:03I don't know if it's the scenery out here
07:05Wine in one hand
07:06Lamb skewer in another
07:08In front of a fire
07:09Yeah yeah
07:10It's great company
07:11That's right
07:12It's all the fresh air
07:14Let's enjoy this
07:15Thanks very much
07:23Can I get a bit more vino?
07:27Doesn't that look like a nice way to spend an afternoon?
07:30Vincent
07:31Out there among the vines
07:32Proving
07:33Once again
07:34He seems to get the best assignments on this show
07:37Coming up
07:39Superannuation tips you can't afford to miss
07:42And how you could save thousands on home maintenance
07:46Most of these tips are quick
07:48And won't cost you anything
07:49But could literally prevent a disaster in the future
07:52So stick around
07:53Maybe pour yourself wine
07:54Or a cup of tea
07:55No judgment
07:56Yeah, welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
07:57It is time for one of my favourite parts of this whole show
08:12A wardrobe makeover with our style queen, Chika Kiva
08:15I love it when you come on because it just makes me happy
08:20It makes everybody happy
08:21Aw, thank you
08:22Well do you know what?
08:23This beautiful woman, Suze, who was just the most gorgeous woman
08:26She's someone who has lost herself
08:28She's got three kids, she lives on a farm
08:30And pretty much her whole life is about everybody else except herself
08:33That's a lot of work and a lot of other people's needs being put ahead of hers
08:38Absolutely
08:40And when I went into her wardrobe, which I will say shocked me
08:42Because it was jam-packed full
08:44Like you have never seen more stuff in your life
08:46But she's not wearing any of it because
08:47A, it doesn't fit her
08:48Or B, she doesn't know how to restyle it
08:50And also too, if you walk into a room that's completely overwhelming
08:53You just pick up the same thing every time
08:55Yes
08:56So that's what she was doing
08:57So we had a lot of fun
08:58Sort of A, going through that
08:59Going through what she needed to get rid of
09:01And then doing a complete transformation on her
09:04Which was really, really special
09:06And she's a good woman, I really adored her
09:09I cannot wait for this
09:12Let's enjoy it
09:13Let's do it
09:27Yoo-hoo!
09:28You must be Chika
09:29I am
09:30Welcome
09:31Now I'm a bit excited about what we're doing today
09:32Are you nervous?
09:33I am very nervous
09:35What are we going to find?
09:36The wardrobe of doom
09:38Okay
09:39Hi, I'm Suze
09:40I'm a 47-year-old mum of three
09:43Everything's just gone a bit haywire
09:45Perimenopausal symptoms
09:48Body shape changes
09:50It's been a bit hard to cope with
09:52Doing this was to sort of embrace that new part of my life
09:55Feel a bit more like myself again, I guess
09:57You ready for this?
09:58You ready for this?
09:59Ready for it?
10:00Oh my goodness me
10:02Suze!
10:03Wow!
10:04Clearly I'm not very good at getting rid of things
10:05I love that your husband's shoved right down the end
10:07He doesn't care, he wears the same thing all the time
10:09I don't even know where to begin
10:10But you're neat, I'll say that
10:12Okay, tell me, why are we doing this for you?
10:14Clearly I have a lot of clothes
10:15Which means sometimes that you then can't put things together
10:18Yes
10:19Because you've got so much there
10:20But it's just that letting go of those things that don't fit
10:24And narrowing down what does work for me
10:26I've definitely found that when I throw on combinations
10:30I would normally do in the past
10:32Things just don't feel like they used to
10:35So I don't know whether that's me mentally
10:37Or whether that's because my physical body has changed as well
10:39I want my clothes to make me feel confident, comfortable obviously is important
10:45But yeah, just confident to just make me feel uplifted sort of thing
10:49And ready to take on the day
10:51And just make me feel a bit more like myself again I guess
10:54Our biggest challenge is to probably delete some of these things
10:57Yes
10:59And then simplify it all
11:00And then put together great outfits that you can tie all back together
11:02Yeah, so everything
11:04If you're going out tonight for dinner with your husband
11:06What would you pull out as your outfit?
11:07Probably a dress
11:08What dress are we loving at the moment?
11:09That's very beautiful fabric
11:11You can't know that one
11:13It's beautiful this one
11:15This is one of my favourites too
11:16It's something you can dress up and down
11:17Absolutely, see I love that you're even saying that
11:19Colours? What are your favourite colours?
11:21I love blue, pinks
11:23My favourite colour's red but I tend to find sometimes it can be a little bit harsh
11:26Cleaned?
11:27It's not something I've sort of ventured into
11:29Now I can see you're wearing glasses
11:31Do you always wear glasses?
11:32And do you like having fun glasses on your face?
11:34Like do you like a bit of colour or are they the only ones you have?
11:36I must admit glasses are what I put on to see
11:41I don't, like I like my glasses but I don't think of it as a style accessory
11:47But then I see people with really funky cool glasses on and I think
11:50Maybe that could be something that I could explore to actually use them as an accessory
11:54Or like as a pop of colour or something like that
11:58These are the only ones I have
12:00I don't tend to necessarily change up my glasses
12:03I don't sort of think of them as an accessory necessarily
12:06And I think wearing some colour on your face when you're wearing a beautiful dress
12:08Is a really nice way, particularly if you're not wearing lots of jewellery and things like that
12:12That adds some light and colour to your face
12:13So would you be open to going down to Specsavers and having a look at a few of your hairs?
12:17Yeah, that'd be good
12:18Because that could be quite fun
12:19Yeah, that'd be a bit of fun
12:20Let's just have some fun with it
12:21That sounds like a great way to do it
12:22Let's do that as our first port of call
12:23Yes
12:24And then we can work on the rest of this a bit later
12:25But let's do the glasses first
12:27That sounds good
12:28Okay, perfect
12:29Oh, it's torture that we don't get to see the conclusion sooner
12:36But it's also sort of delicious
12:37You have to wait
12:38Yes
12:39And it's definitely worth it
12:40Not very good at waiting
12:43Are you?
12:44You have no choice sadly
12:46The wardrobe magic will be revealed a bit later on in the show
12:49Coming up next, no dumb questions
12:52This one is all about deception
12:54How do you know if someone's lying to you?
12:56Telling porcupines
12:58We've brought in an expert to tell us
13:01That is after the break
13:02That's not a lie
13:04Come back
13:05You're going to want to know this stuff
13:06See you then
13:13This segment is brought to you by Bob Jane T-Mart's
13:17Best tyre price guarantee
13:21Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
13:23Now, we've all told a little tiny fib here and there
13:29But what about the big ones?
13:31How can you tell if someone's bluffing, dodging or just flat out lying to you?
13:38That is today's theme on No Dumb Questions
13:41And I'm all ears because I can never tell when people are lying
13:45Deception expert Stephen Van Aperen is the opposite of me
13:51He knows exactly what to look for and he's here to set us all straight
13:56My name is Stephen Van Aperen, I'm a deception detection expert and a behavioural analyst
14:06And there are no dumb questions
14:08Carlos M asks
14:10How can you tell when someone is lying?
14:12Well, firstly, we need to break it down into three areas
14:16Verbal, nonverbal and paralinguistic
14:18I may be able to think of a lie but can I effectively communicate that lie with believability and credibility
14:24Secondly, I need to look at body language
14:26We need to look for conflict or contradiction between what a person is saying and what their body language is displaying
14:32Thirdly, paralinguistic, that is tone, pitch, voice modulation, response, latency, ums and ahs are all important
14:39So we can't just look at one area, we have to combine all three
14:42L A asks
14:44Is there a body language tell when someone's not being genuine on a date?
14:49Asking concealment blocking behaviour
14:51Blocking the mouth, knowing that those words were false
14:54And touching the nose, which is a degree of releasing anxiety
14:56Julia F asks
14:59What's the most bizarre request you've ever received because of your vocation?
15:03I was once asked to polygraph test an employee as to whether or not he'd peed in his boss's cup
15:10I did the polygraph test and the employee passed
15:14Min JK asks
15:17What's it like looking into a killer's eyes and knowing they're lying?
15:21I've worked on 89 homicide cases and two serial killer investigations
15:25I remember interviewing one clinically diagnosed psychopath
15:29And he had absolutely no empathy or remorse
15:33He didn't care
15:34In fact, he enjoyed playing games
15:37I remember that night I went home and I had a massive headache
15:40Lucia B asks
15:42What are some signs that someone might be a manipulator or a cheater?
15:45Usually they'll be very secretive
15:48They'll go outside to another room to answer text messages
15:51They'll be very evasive, dismissive
15:54You'll notice their behaviour will change from being upfront with you
15:58To making up little stories that don't add up
16:00Oscar T asks
16:02Are you a good liar?
16:04Interesting question
16:05I'm a terrible liar
16:07I remember once I was doing a television interview with Bert Newton
16:09And he asked me a question
16:10And it was a little bit personal and I didn't want the world to know
16:12So I lied
16:13When I watched it back I thought
16:15Oh my gosh Steve, micro-expressions, distress signals, blocking behaviours
16:19I'm a terrible liar
16:21But of course I would say that if I had to lie
16:26That's terrifying because even after all of that
16:29I'm still going to believe anything I'm told
16:31Are you a good liar?
16:33No, absolutely not
16:34I do have a question though
16:35How does one get a job title expert in deception?
16:38Good question
16:39Mmm, I bet you we lied to get that job
16:42I can't believe a word that comes out of his mouth
16:45You're the cutest thing ever
16:47You're so proud of yourself
16:48I know, I'm so proud of that lie
16:50Up next, Rachel Cole with rapid fire money tips
16:55Without the fine print, which is good
16:57Because I can't read without my glasses
16:59Hi, I'm Rachel, your money expert
17:01Let's jump straight into it and talk about superannuation
17:03And how with a few small tweaks today
17:05You could be hundreds of thousands of dollars better off by retirement
17:07Now, as with everything finance related
17:10The following is general in nature
17:12And you should consult an expert for advice on your particular situation
17:14Now, superannuation is one of the most powerful tools we have
17:18To set ourselves up financially
17:20But for most Australians, we get our first account when we're 18
17:22We start working, the employer puts in 12%
17:25And we kind of just forget about it
17:27And we get access to that money again when we turn 60
17:29Now, statistically, it's likely an industry fund
17:31And likely a low-cost balance fund
17:33Because that's the default in Australia
17:34Now, your super fund is the group responsible for investing your money
17:38And we have choice over who manages that money
17:40But we also have choice over how that money is invested
17:43Now, a balanced portfolio which is appropriate for someone in middle life
17:46That wants to take on moderate risk
17:48Will deliver you a 6-7% return over time
17:50Because it's part shares and part cash
17:52But it may be more appropriate for someone with more time on their side
17:54To be in a high-growth fund
17:56Which will deliver that sort of 8-9% return over time
17:58If we've got time in the market to ride out the associated risk
18:00Now, a 2% return differential over time doesn't sound like a lot
18:04But that's hundreds of thousands of dollars of difference over time
18:07Now, if you're under 50, your biggest asset is time
18:11And we want those great returns to compound over the long term
18:14If you're over 50, it's a great idea to see a financial planner
18:17And consider your transition to retirement
18:19And maybe making catch-up contributions if that's appropriate for you
18:22One in five Australians also have multiple super accounts
18:25Which means you're paying fees in lots of different places
18:27And many of us don't even know those accounts exist
18:30In fact, there's $17 billion of lost superannuation in Australia
18:33So you need to check on MyGov or the ATO website if some of that's yours
18:37Remember, your superannuation is for retirement
18:39We just want it working as hard for us as possible
18:42Still to come on Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
18:44We dim the lights, settle the jitters and bring back, you guessed it
18:49The Box of Deb
18:50This week's victim is superstar fashion icon Nadia Bartel
18:56For you anything
18:58I wonder what she'll choose
19:00Find out just after the break
19:09Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
19:11It is time to head underground with our good friends at The Drain Man
19:18Their relining crew, that's right, relining, tackles blockages like tree roots
19:25Without tearing up your whole backyard
19:28And the fun twist, the entire relining crew at The Drain Man are actually ladies
19:35They're females, they're drain ladies
19:37I like drain ladies
19:38Let's meet them
19:45As a plumber by trade for 10 years, I have seen a lot of cracked pipes in my time
19:50That can cause excessive water damage and drainage problems
19:54If not fixed correctly, this can be a costly experience
19:57And also tear up your entire backyard
20:00What if I told you there was a way that would save you money, be better for the environment
20:04And you don't have to tear up your whole backyard
20:06Let's go have a look
20:10Hello, hello
20:12Firstly, can I say I'm so stoked to see you out there
20:14As a fellow tradeswoman, do you get looks when you rock up on site?
20:18Um, yeah, we do sometimes
20:20They do get a shock when there's a woman out there
20:22Nah, I'm excited to get into it
20:24Can I help with this?
20:26Yeah
20:28Can you explain what relining is?
20:30Because there's a lot of drains out there that has tree roots growing through it
20:33Relining is when we kind of insert the liners through the drain
20:37Basically you've got your cracked pipe and you come in, create a resin sleeve inside
20:43So it's a pipe on the outside and then another pipe on the inside
20:46So this is where we're putting the resin in
20:48Once it's cured, it just looks like a brand new PVC pipe
20:51So it kind of just blends into the existing pipe
20:53Basically the girls whack the resin in there, then this bladder goes in and it expands
21:00Bob's your uncle
21:02Yeah, pretty much
21:04So Rosie, once you create the resin, time is money, isn't it?
21:09Well, if we don't get it in time, it cures on the spot
21:12Then what happens?
21:14Drilling works
21:16Pretty much drilling works
21:17Relining saves you from the expensive process of ripping up the ground and replacing pipes
21:23But it's a precise job that has to happen in just a few minutes
21:27Alright, we're using ultra-fast resin
21:29We only have 10 minutes before it sets
21:31So we need to get the resin in, get it down there
21:33Or else the job is ruined
21:36We're done, dusted
21:38The girls have the new lining prepped and another operator is waiting further along the pipe
21:42Ready to help guide it into position
21:44Alright, it's go time
21:45Alright, it's go time
21:46We're going to mix in this and then the clock is ticking
21:50Ready?
21:51And go!
21:53So we're mixing up the resin now
21:56Looks like a nice caramel sauce
22:00Stuff like that's so satisfying
22:06So they're just wetting it now, making sure it gets an even layer
22:10Time is ticking
22:15They're putting the tape on
22:16Then once they get the air compressor on it and inflate it
22:19The tape will break off, turn into a nice beautiful pipe
22:22We're on 3 minutes 44
22:26So now they're just positioning it, making sure it's in the exact right spot before it hardens
22:31Alright, give me a slack please
22:33Bit of slack please
22:35You got slack?
22:37Time to hold tension, real tight tension
22:39Hold your tension there please Greg, really tight
22:41Alright, going up, don't let it bounce back
22:44Yeah, holding tight
22:46Going up
22:48The tape's just popped
22:52Yep, time to keep holding it
22:54Alright, just keep holding your tight tension
22:56So we just hit 8 minutes, literally 2 minutes left
22:59It's quite a stressful thing
23:01We are...
23:03We good?
23:05All good Greg!
23:08The operator just confirmed it's in, it's done
23:11We got it with a minute 30 to spare
23:13We did it!
23:15When I say we, I mean the girls did it
23:17We just finished the job, the girls absolutely smashed it out
23:20And I was just talking to the homeowner and he said if he didn't do the relining
23:24He would have had to rip up his shed, rip up the concrete and it would have cost him an absolute fortune
23:34Once the pipe is damaged, it needs to be relined or replaced
23:39So how can you prevent it from getting to that stage?
23:42It's all about being proactive and there are some measures you can take to get on top of it
23:49These are warning signs and some of those warning signs are frequently blocked toilets, slow draining water, bad smells, that gurgle noise and also tree roots
24:01It's all about being proactive but it doesn't end with what you do in your house
24:06What you do in your garden as well has a huge impact
24:08Now let's talk landscaping and future proofing your pipes
24:15The trees you plant have a huge impact
24:18Some trees with more aggressive roots that might ruin your pipes in the long run
24:23Are things like willow trees, fig trees and aspens
24:27Some alternatives are your frangipanis, your ornamental pears, your bottle brush
24:33Native shrubs, they're less likely to damage your pipes
24:36With hotter summers and heavier rainfall, climate change is literally shaping the ground beneath us
24:44The ground shifts, pipes crack, roots come in and that's when you need to call the girls out from drain man
24:52Now don't underestimate basic drain care
24:55Avoid flushing your wipes, know your pipe layout and plant those pesky trees about 6-8 metres away from your pipes
25:02If you keep your drains happy, then they'll keep you happy
25:08That is very cool
25:11I actually don't need anything relined but I might make up a problem just to get those girls over to my place
25:16You know what time it is now
25:18Yes, it is the part of the show where things get a little creepy crawly and a little bit uncomfortable
25:23Mm-hmm
25:25It's the box of death
25:26And tonight's guest has built a fashion label out of sleek minimalism and pure class
25:38But don't let that fool you
25:41She's anything but minimal
25:43I felt like I was going to say she's anything but classy
25:46Say hello to my friend Nadia Bartel
25:48You are a very very brave girl to take a phone call from me that says don't worry about anything just turn up
25:55For you anything
25:56You're very sweet
25:57Now normally we would just have a gas bag, find out, you know, what's cooking with you
26:02But this is not that sort of interview
26:06Okay
26:07You are going to make a choice in the next 60 seconds
26:11You're going to hold something
26:13It's going to have a pulse
26:15And two of them are standing behind you right now
26:18Nadia Bartel, please choose between Lara and Olive Python
26:21An olive python
26:22Ah, okay
26:23We love olives, Nadia, we love olives
26:24I love olives
26:25Oh, Sicilian olives
26:26A little bit warm, delicious
26:27Yeah
26:28Alright, and Mike here
26:30He's holding Henrietta
26:32She is a golden huntsman
26:34I hate spiders
26:35Everybody hates spiders
26:37You can see those choices
26:39You can go with one that you know
26:41Or you can pick what's in the box of death
26:48I was just thinking though
26:49Maybe that like
26:50I don't mind that maybe that's like a mouse or rat
26:53Well that would be
26:54Which I would die
26:55Oh is that worse?
26:56Oh yeah
26:58A mouse or a rat
26:59Yeah
27:00A rodent is worse
27:01Yeah
27:02That is so interesting
27:03You've got a tough decision ahead of you
27:04Whether to risk it
27:06Or go with the known quantity
27:08When we come back we're going to find out what the outcome is
27:11Is it a mouse? Is it a snake?
27:13Is it Nadia losing her mind?
27:15Hopefully the latter
27:16See you soon
27:19This segment is brought to you by the Amy Driving Test
27:26Lucky you're with Amy
27:29Welcome back
27:30This is Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
27:33Where we are joined by the magnificent Nadia Bartel
27:37I've given you a very, very tough choice to make here
27:40You've got to choose between a snake, a spider, not great
27:45And whatever is in the box of death
27:49There is a part of you that wants to do that because like that's pretty exciting
27:57I'm normally a risk taker but I just can't risk it
28:00I'm going to go the snake
28:03You're going to go the snake?
28:04Snake
28:05Alright, now do not worry, you're in very, very safe hands
28:10Do you respond well to praise and enthusiasm and support?
28:14No, I don't really need that
28:15Oh well that's a shame because I've organised a special cheerleader for you
28:18Hi
28:19Hi
28:21Start now because Nadia's scared
28:23Come on Nadia, you've got this
28:25I'm going to drag it around your shoulders
28:26Do you have any tips?
28:27Okay
28:28So, it's a lovely Melbourne scarf
28:33And you get that beautiful body on your shoulders
28:36Oh, it's like sliding off me
28:37It's sliding off me
28:39No, she's fine, she's just on your shoulders
28:42Look how relaxed she is guys
28:43I'm fine
28:44Alright, let's start the clock
28:47By the way, of course, the snake matches Nadia
28:51How beautiful
28:53Like who does that?
28:54We first came to know you when you were a lifestyle blogger with the Chronicles of Nadia
28:58At that time, I remember you said that your car was overflowing with make-up
29:02Oh really?
29:03And I've always wanted to know, is that because you love the lighting in the car?
29:07Oh, it's the best
29:08It's the best
29:09Yeah, makes his skin look flawless
29:11Do you also like to pluck a whisker or two in that?
29:14Come on
29:16I'm Italian, what do you think?
29:18That says it all, doesn't it?
29:20You've co-founded your gorgeous fashion label, Henny, with your sister, Michelle
29:24When you disagree on designs, do you see who can run down the hallway quickest to dob to your mum?
29:30Oh, it's definitely Michelle
29:31Really?
29:32She calls Dad always
29:33Really?
29:34Yeah
29:35She goes around the dinner table, we always do dinner at mum's on Mondays
29:38Oh my gosh
29:39And then she'll just, yeah, I bet you that's fiesty
29:41If I had told you
29:43Oh no no no no no no no no
29:47Your fine lines campaign, the bra
29:50Oh yes
29:51It was everywhere, I was in the city, you glided past me on the side of a tram and I said out loud, I'm not ashamed to say, Jesus that is an amazing set of buzies
30:01When you first saw the photos, did you go fwoah?
30:05Not really, I wasn't that happy with it
30:07Poor Dad, he had to see the, there was a tram out the front of his house that just had my boobs in front of it every single day
30:14It's terrible
30:16I just thought your hair was the snake's head and I was going to go wah wah wah
30:22Ladies and gentlemen, that is Nadia Bartel
30:26Thank you so much for your time tonight
30:29Still Saturday night, your hair's done, you can hit the dance floor my girl
30:34Exactly
30:35Next up, Amy Stanton is on hand with the little fixes and clever tricks that can save you big headaches at home
30:44Today I want to show you some super useful home maintenance tips that could save you a ton of trouble
30:51Now I'm a tradie at heart and also expecting another little one on the way so I'm all about safe, easy and simple
30:59We've got four tips for you that could prevent a disaster like a fire or flood
31:04Let's get into it
31:09Tip number one, check your flexi hoses
31:11They are a common cause for water damage
31:14We're talking one in ten insurance claims are caused by burst flexi hoses
31:19Let's have a look at these ones
31:24Lucky for the homeowner, these are in perfect nick
31:27These ones, not so good
31:30If yours is starting to look like this, it may turn into this
31:34We even suggest getting them replaced every five to ten years
31:38Even if they look alright
31:42Extra tip, if you're going away on holidays, turn your water off at the mains
31:46A burst hose can fill a pool in a day
31:49Tip number two, let's talk lithium ion batteries and fire safety
31:54Now these batteries are found in everything
31:57From your phone, to your laptop, to even your power tool chargers
32:02Always use a proper charger and cord, not the dodgy ones
32:06And then charge your things on hard surfaces
32:09Not your couch or your bed
32:13Now I know we've all done it, but don't overload your power boards
32:16This one's starting to look like an octopus and can catch fire real quick
32:24Don't forget to check your fire alarms
32:26Don't wait for the beep, check the batteries at least once a year
32:31Tip three, clean your gutters
32:34Now I know cleaning your gutters isn't the most glamorous task
32:38But it has to be done, preferably we say about twice a year
32:43Why? Water damage is the number one thing
32:46If these leaves build up and water gets back into your ceiling
32:50It can cause a lot of mould and water damage
32:53Then another reason, bushfire season
32:56These leaves are the perfect fuel for embers
32:59An ember from a bushfire or even your neighbour's fireplace
33:04Can land in here and ignite your whole house
33:08Not good
33:10Tip number four, give your hot water unit some TLC
33:13Now if you have a hottie like this one
33:15It's got a little gizmo on it called the pressure relief valve
33:18And basically what that does
33:20It stops your unit from overheating and exploding like a pressure cooker
33:24And all we have to do is test it once every six months
33:29Now all we have to do to test it is pull this little lever for about five seconds
33:34And water should gush out the bottom
33:38If water gushes out, we're all good
33:40If it doesn't, you may need to call your local plumber and get this bad boy replaced
33:45Most of these tips are quick and won't cost you anything
33:50But could literally prevent a disaster in the future
33:54So get on it now before it costs you way more time and money
33:58Very interesting
34:00But that whole time I was thinking
34:02If we get another season
34:04It's going to be a baby
34:06It's going to be two people there
34:08Hey guys, Amy here
34:10Now you might have been following my pregnancy journey
34:12From all the way back on episode one
34:14Where Chrissy asked me if I'd swallowed a goat
34:17Just a few too many beers, no?
34:18But I would like to announce the safe arrival of our beautiful girl Darcy Violet
34:25She came so quickly, not long after we finished filming actually
34:30And we got to the car park and she was literally born seven minutes later
34:35And we were basically back home working in the garden a few hours after that
34:39So all is well here, we can't wait for our next healthy, wealthy and wise adventure
34:43It's pretty exciting
34:46After the break we are heading back to Bendigo
34:49It's Sousa's big moment to shine as Chica brings her makeover to life
34:55Trust me, do not miss this reveal
34:59Oh my goodness me
35:02It's gorgeous, see you soon
35:03Healthy, wealthy and wise is brought to you by Specsavers
35:13Yays, welcome back to Helping Mothering Wise
35:18Great to see you
35:20We have been hanging out for this reveal
35:23From the very beginning of this episode
35:25It's Sousa's big wardrobe reset
35:28Now Chica, you have spent some serious time with her
35:32This has been like a top to tail overhaul
35:35And it was amazing
35:36I mean you even changed up her glasses
35:38I know, which really made a huge difference
35:41Where were you when I thought those little round John Lennon ones were a good idea on this giant head?
35:47I was probably with Sousa's
35:49Oh, playing favourites now are we?
35:50Sorry
35:52See you in your best friend
35:56Are you ready for this?
35:57For Specsavers
35:58It's going to be fun
35:59We're going to get you some new frames
36:00And we're going to just try on some different shapes and see what works for you
36:03That sounds good
36:04Colour, shape, the whole thing
36:05So the VIP service is waiting for us
36:07Alright, let's do it
36:08Let's do it
36:09I'm excited for you
36:17So Sousa, how long have you been wearing glasses for?
36:19Since I was in Year 7
36:21Basically full time
36:22Well I'm loving all these different colours and shapes
36:24And I feel like what we need to do is just try on a variety of things
36:27And just see what works with your colouring and your hair
36:29And what you do and don't like
36:30Look, I'm loving this blue
36:31I do like blue
36:33I like that
36:34I think they're really strong
36:35Have a little look in the mirror and see what you think
36:37And I like the colour
36:38I think they work beautifully
36:39Something a bit brighter and a bit fun
36:41Yeah
36:42Now I'm a little bit obsessed with all kinds of caramel
36:43Okay, let's try that
36:47Nope
36:48Nope, they're not for you
36:49It's very much too big on my face
36:50You think so?
36:51Yeah, no they're definitely not for you
36:52They're not the right colour at all
36:53That's also quite a pretty colour
36:54These sort of tortoiseshell ones
36:56I think they'd be gorgeous
36:57And with the gold through it
36:58It will also lighten up your face
36:59Yes
37:00I like those a lot actually
37:01I think we probably need to get some professional help now
37:04Because we could do this
37:05I could do this all day
37:06Absolutely
37:10Hello, how are you?
37:11My name's Iron
37:12I'm just here to give you some frame styling advice
37:13If you need that today
37:14So we're trying to get Suze a couple of pairs of new glasses
37:17We're upgrading her wardrobe
37:18And these are a couple that we tried on that we loved
37:20Just the colouring of more than the shape
37:22So we've got some good selections here
37:24Are you more interested in a designer brand
37:26That probably has a bit more flair?
37:28So this frame here will probably suit your features a bit more
37:30So it's just a darker frame
37:32It still has a tortoise shell
37:33Oh I like them a lot
37:35They definitely feel nice on my face too
37:37And again, that's the kind of glasses you can have trans-seasonally
37:40Yes
37:41You know, winter, summer, they will look beautiful
37:42Great for the weekend sport
37:44But going out for dinner
37:45What's the general rule when it comes to glasses and shape for face and all the rest of it?
37:49With an oval face we tend to do softer round ones
37:52Draw the attention to the chin a little bit more
37:54We also have a face shape that's like a heart
37:56So for those type of frames
37:58We want to be looking at the ones that draw away the attention from the chin
38:02Then we also have a face shape that is just a round face
38:05So we're looking at more rectangular frames
38:07Okay, well let's see some other examples
38:16Yep, they're perfect, look beautiful
38:18Let's pop those through
38:19No worries, I'll put them through now
38:20Thank you
38:23With Suzie's stylish specs sorted
38:25It was time to head to Blue Illusion to complete her new look
38:30Are you excited?
38:31I am a little bit nervous
38:32What are you nervous about?
38:33This is very overwhelming
38:34I promise you we're going to have so much fun
38:36We're going to rediscover who Suzie is again
38:38And I also have your new glasses from Specsavers
38:40Let's go shopping
38:41Let's do this
38:42Meet my friend Donna, who owns Blue Illusion
38:45Welcome
38:46Nice to see you
38:47To Blue Illusion
38:48Bendigo
38:49What she is needing is a new look
38:50We've kind of lost ourselves a little bit along the way
38:52We love colour
38:53We want to try on some dresses, some new shapes
38:55And I think that's what we're going to try and do
38:56Is discover who you are now at this age and stage in life
38:59That sounds lovely
39:00Well I think we can play dress ups now
39:01I think we can
39:02Is there anything that's jumping out here for you?
39:07I quite like the green
39:08It's not something I'd normally wear
39:10Beautiful
39:12I love this one
39:13Look at the colour on you
39:15I know
39:16Put on the green
39:17How gorgeous
39:18The green, the green
39:19I'm not sure though if you don't need a longer dress
39:21Down to about here is going to be more flattering
39:23100%
39:24You need more layers
39:25When you're a bit taller I think it does cut you off
39:27Yes, it does cut you off
39:28That's quite beautiful too
39:29This is beautiful too
39:30It doesn't hurt to try them all on
39:31I do see
39:32See how much nicer that looks being that little bit longer
39:34From the lens, yeah
39:35Sometimes you have days where you want to show off a waist
39:36Yeah
39:37And sometimes there are days where you just don't
39:38It's interesting
39:39Yeah, it just gives you some shape
39:40And I like these with this dress because they're a little bit lighter
39:43Gorgeous
39:44Okay
39:45Absolutely gorgeous
39:52What about over here?
39:53The tunics
39:54Yes
39:55They are lovely
39:56With the great linen pants
39:57I do like natural fibres, yes
39:58Especially for women who are going through menopause
40:00Particularly at the moment when my body's doing all sorts of fun things
40:03Oh
40:05Look at you
40:07So this is an outfit you will definitely wear?
40:09Yeah, definitely
40:10These pants can go back with so many tops
40:12Yeah, absolutely
40:13So it's the base
40:14We've got a great linen suit over here
40:16I love this colour
40:18I'm loving these pants
40:19It's a great casual one
40:20You can wear with a sneaker or with a sandal
40:23With a heel
40:24Beautiful white shirt
40:25Elasticated arms
40:26A couple of scarves to try with it and some jewellery
40:28Are you loving yourself sick?
40:29I am
40:30This is beautiful
40:31See, look how great you look
40:33Yes
40:34The length is great
40:35Do you think?
40:36I think a scarf would look gorgeous with that
40:37It'd make me look like I know what I'm doing with that
40:38Yeah, exactly
40:39You look amazing
40:40Let's take that off and get you into hair and makeup
40:43Now the fun begins
40:49Suze, how are you going in there?
40:51We've got your friend Jen here
40:52She's ready to see the great reveal as well
