01:17and what a wild and wise ride it's been today we have a beauty to finish on now you know me
01:26of course i'm chrissy swan and if you don't know me i'm still chrissy swan unfortunately
01:31this show has been all about looking for smart fun practical ways to help life tick along
01:41any laughs of course have come from this man the gorgeous ash wicks
01:46start of my own clap thing there let's kick off this finale in style our food adventurer
01:56the inimitable vincent dim sim limb is out among the vineyards lucky for some exploring how changing
02:05weather and conditions affect the taste of grapes and how the right food can make that wine sing
02:14like a bird let's take a look today i'm here in the gambie two hours north of melbourne to check out
02:22tarn roses winery i'm a chef and i know food these guys they know wines let's see what their wines can
02:27do for my recipes so tarn roses have made some award-winning wines i'm here to meet the woman
02:33behind it narelle king
02:34oh this place smells incredible yeah it's good isn't it so how did you get into winemaking
02:41i'm an accountant by trade um had a bit of a midlife crisis met a lovely lady got me interested in wine
02:46and eventually i changed careers met my business partner don we used to make wine for a spanish
02:51company and one year when we came back some friends suggested that we make mediterranean grape varieties
02:56in central victoria we specialize in pinot grigio sangiovese tempranillo nebbiolo and you guys have
03:02an award-winning wine pinot grigio won the best pinot grigio of the year for james halliday's 2026 book
03:08oh amazing congratulations it's been great
03:09it's our 2025 it's fresh it's citrusy you can see some lovely fruit characters i think i actually
03:19prefer this one yeah have you tried cooking with it i've tried cooking and drinking next to it
03:23i've got a recipe in mind that would be perfect for this wine me and narelle are headed to kennedy
03:28vineyards in heathkit where they source grapes for some of their wines
03:31shoots are looking really beautiful the beginnings of these little bunches will
03:36flower first week of november a couple of weeks later the berries will start to form after that
03:40it's just the growing season they'll get all those ripe characters in beginning of march so when will
03:46they be in bottles after we pick them in march they go through the fermentation process and they mature
03:52and barrel for probably 10 to 12 months so in the shops the following year so if you buy a bottle of
03:58wine in 2027 in march you'll be drinking from these grapes yeah pretty much wow that is a huge
04:05process luckily we don't need to wait two years for my cooking we can go get some now well we've
04:10got a fire pit down by the sheds yeah okay perfect let's go then okay i'm going to put an asian twist
04:15on a barbecue favorite guaranteed to win over guests at the next cook up rolling we'll just wait for that
04:21gust we're cooking amongst the vines in the windiest day ever today we're going to be making cumin lamb
04:27skewers we've got beautiful wine here usually in chinese cuisine we actually use xiaoxing wine
04:34i'm super excited to see how this compares garlic and ginger in the bowl just to get rid of the
04:40gaminess add a splash of soy sauce into the mix tiny pinch of salt now we're going to add cumin cumin's
04:50going to further get rid of that gaminess from the lamb now we're going to hit it with meat velvet
04:54this is going to tenderize oh my gosh oh that went in my eye this is going to tenderize the lamb
05:00just so windy today just a little bit in there add a splash of oil this is going to keep it nice and
05:05moist when you're cooking it over the fire i've been out in the vines we just touched soil so gloves
05:10to marinade massage it in there shouldn't be any water down the bottom
05:17thank you now while i'm massaging i'm going to slowly add the wine in because we're using cumin
05:30i want to cut it with the fruity notes of the wine so it's going to be nice and fresh the meat velvet
05:34together with the wine it's going to absorb all into the lamb if you guys are skewering at home you
05:39can use wooden you can use metal it doesn't matter go from the bottom up and skewer it straight through
05:44just like that super easy to whip out at a family barbecue
05:48so hard to skewer just about that big whether you're in turkey shanghai melbourne almost every
05:59culture has a version of these all right these are looking pretty good and i can feel the fire
06:03heating up behind me so let's get started grilling
06:06probably about three minutes on each side depends on how hot the fire is
06:12while the lamb is cooking we're going to make the seasoning for the top
06:15chili flakes cumin seeds grind them up over the lamb dynasty five spice
06:23now we give it a flip
06:25oh my boy
06:30holy cow a little bit of oil to give it that shine
06:33lamb on the plate this is a balancing act
06:37we're going to top it off with a little bit more of that cumin and chili
06:39oh my stars it looks amazing i'll trade you one skewer for a glass
06:43that's a deal there you go smells fantastic
06:47how do you do this
06:52oh yum
06:56oh yeah
06:59you know what this might actually be better than my original
07:02i don't know if it's the scenery out here wine in one hand lamb skewer in another in front of a fire
07:08yeah yeah it's great company
07:10that's right
07:11it's all the fresh air
07:13let's enjoy this
07:15thanks very much
07:15can i get a bit more minute
07:24doesn't that look like a nice way to spend an afternoon vincent
07:30out there among the vines proving
07:33once again he seems to get the best assignments on this show
07:37coming up superannuation tips you can't afford to miss
07:41and how you could save thousands on home maintenance
07:45most of these tips are quick and won't cost you anything
07:49but could literally prevent a disaster in the future
07:51so stick around maybe pour yourself wine
07:53or a cup of tea
07:54no joke
07:55yeah welcome back to healthy wealthy and wise
08:05it is time for one of my favourite parts of this whole show
08:10a wardrobe makeover with our style queen chicka kiva
08:14i love it when you come on because it just makes me happy
08:19it makes everybody happy
08:21thank you
08:21well do you know what
08:22this beautiful woman suze who was just the most gorgeous woman
08:25she's someone who has lost herself
08:27she's got three kids
08:28she lives on a farm
08:29and pretty much her whole life is about everybody else except herself
08:33that's a lot of work and a lot of other people's needs
08:38being put ahead of hers
08:39and when i went into her wardrobe
08:40which i will say shocked me
08:42because it was jam-packed full
08:43like you have never seen more stuff in your life
08:45but she's not wearing any of it
08:46because a it doesn't fit her
08:48or b she doesn't know how to restyle it
08:50and also too if you walk into a room that's completely overwhelming
08:52you just pick out the same thing every time
08:54so that's what she was doing
08:56so we had a lot of fun
08:57sort of a going through that
08:59going through what she needed to get rid of
09:00and then doing a complete transformation on her
09:04which was really really special
09:06and she's a good woman
09:07i really adored her
09:08i cannot wait for this
09:11let's enjoy it
09:12let's do it
09:13yoo-hoo
09:27you must be chica
09:28i am
09:29hey welcome
09:30now i'm a bit excited about what we're doing today
09:32are you nervous
09:32i am very nervous
09:33what are we going to find
09:35the wardrobe of doom
09:36okay
09:38hi i'm suze
09:39i'm a 47 year old
09:41mum of three
09:41everything's just gone a bit haywire
09:44perimenopausal symptoms
09:46body shape changes
09:48it's been a bit hard to cope with
09:51doing this was to sort of embrace that new part of my life
09:54feel a bit more like myself again i guess
09:57you ready for this
09:58oh my goodness me
10:02suze
10:02wow
10:03clearly i'm not very good at getting rid of things
10:05i love that your husband's shoved right down the end
10:07he doesn't care
10:07he wears something all the time
10:09i don't even know where to begin
10:10but you're neat i'll say that
10:11okay tell me
10:12why are we doing this
10:13well clearly i have a lot of clothes
10:15which means sometimes that you then can't put things together
10:18because you've got so much there
10:19but it's just that letting go of those things that don't fit
10:23and narrowing down what does work for me
10:25i've definitely found that when i throw on combinations i would normally do in the past
10:31it's just things just don't feel like they used to
10:34so i don't know whether that's me mentally
10:36or whether that's because my physical body has changed as well
10:39i want my clothes to make me feel confident
10:42comfortable obviously is important
10:44but just confident to just make me feel uplifted sort of thing
10:49and ready to take on the day
10:50and just make me feel a bit more like myself again i guess
10:53our biggest challenge is to probably delete some of these things
10:56yes
10:57and then simplify it all
10:58and then put together great outfits that you can tie all back together
11:01and then
11:01yeah so everything
11:02if you're going out tonight for dinner with your husband
11:05what would you pull out as your outfit
11:06probably a dress
11:07what dress are we loving at the moment
11:09that's very beautiful fabric
11:10you can't know that one
11:11you know that
11:11you possibly know that one
11:13it's beautiful this one
11:14this is one of my favourites too
11:15it's something you can dress up and down
11:17absolutely
11:17see i love that you're even saying that
11:19colours
11:19what are your favourite colours
11:20i love blue
11:21pinks
11:22yep
11:22my favourite colour's red
11:23but i tend to find sometimes it can be a little bit harsh
11:25yeah i just
11:26it's not something i've sort of
11:27ventured into
11:28don't resonate with
11:29now i can see you're wearing glasses
11:30do you always wear glasses
11:31and do you like having fun glasses on your face
11:34like do you like a bit of colour
11:35or are they the only ones you have
11:36i must admit
11:37glasses are what i put on to see
11:40i don't
11:41like i like my glasses
11:43but i don't think of it as a style accessory
11:46but then i see people with really funky cool glasses on
11:48and i think oh maybe that could be something that's i could explore to actually use them as an accessory or like as a pop of colour or something like that
11:57these are the honey ones i have i don't tend to necessarily change up my glasses i don't sort of think of them as an accessory necessarily
12:05i think wearing some colour on your face when you're wearing a beautiful dress is a really nice way
12:09particularly if you're not wearing lots of jewellery and things like that
12:11that adds some light and colour to your face
12:13so would you be open to going down to spec savers and having a look at a few new hairs
12:17yeah
12:17because that could be quite fun
12:18yeah it'd be a bit of fun
12:19let's just have some fun with it
12:20that sounds like a great way to do it
12:21let's do that as our first port of call
12:23yes
12:23and then we can work on the rest of this a bit later
12:25but let's do the glasses first
12:26that sounds good
12:27okay perfect
12:28all right
12:28oh it's torture that we don't get to see
12:33the conclusion sooner
12:35but it's also sort of delicious
12:37you have to wait
12:37yes
12:38and it's definitely worth it
12:39not very good at waiting
12:41are you
12:43you have no choice sadly
12:44the wardrobe magic will be revealed
12:47a bit later on in the show
12:48coming up next
12:49no dumb questions
12:50this one is all about deception
12:53how do you know if someone's lying to you
12:56telling porky pies
12:57we've brought in an expert to tell us
13:00that is after the break
13:01that's not a lie
13:03come back
13:04you're going to want to know this stuff
13:05see you then
13:06this segment is brought to you by
13:14Bob Jane T-Mart
13:16best tyre price guarantee
13:19welcome back to healthy wealthy and wise
13:23now
13:24we've all told a little tiny fib here and there
13:28but what about the big ones
13:30how can you tell if someone's bluffing dodging
13:34or just flat out lying to you
13:37that is today's theme on no dumb questions
13:40and I'm all ears
13:42because I can never tell when people are lying
13:45deception expert
13:47Stephen Van Aperen
13:48is the opposite of me
13:51he knows exactly what to look for
13:53and he's here to set us all straight
13:55my name is Stephen Van Aperen
14:02I'm a deception detection expert
14:04and a behavioural analyst
14:05and there are no dumb questions
14:07Carlos M asks
14:10how can you tell when someone is lying
14:12well firstly we need to break it down into three areas
14:15verbal
14:16nonverbal
14:16and paralinguistic
14:18I may be able to think of a lie
14:19but can I effectively communicate that lie
14:22with believability and credibility
14:23secondly
14:24I need to look at body language
14:25we need to look for conflict or contradiction
14:27between what a person is saying
14:29and what their body language is displaying
14:31thirdly
14:32paralinguistic
14:33that is
14:34tone
14:34pitch
14:35voice modulation
14:36response
14:36latency
14:37ums and ahs
14:38are all important
14:39so we can't just look at one area
14:40we have to combine all three
14:42LA asks
14:43is there a body language tell
14:45when someone's not being genuine on a date
14:47masking concealment blocking behaviour
14:50blocking the mouth
14:51knowing that those words were false
14:53and touching the nose
14:54which is a degree of releasing anxiety
14:56Julia F asks
14:58what's the most bizarre request you've ever received
15:01because of your vocation
15:02I was once asked
15:04to polygraph test an employee
15:07as to whether or not
15:08he'd peed in his boss's cup
15:10I did the polygraph test
15:11and the employee passed
15:13Min JK asks
15:17what's it like looking into a killer's eyes
15:19and knowing they're lying
15:20I've worked on 89 homicide cases
15:23and two serial killer investigations
15:24I remember interviewing one clinically diagnosed psychopath
15:28and he had absolutely no empathy
15:31or remorse
15:32he didn't care
15:33in fact
15:33he enjoyed playing games
15:35I remember that night
15:37I went home
15:38and I had a massive headache
15:39Lucia B asks
15:41what are some signs
15:42that someone might be a manipulator
15:44or a cheater
15:45usually they'll be very secretive
15:47they'll go outside
15:48to another room
15:49to answer text messages
15:50they'll be very evasive
15:52dismissive
15:53you'll notice their behaviour
15:54will change
15:55from being up front with you
15:57to making up little stories
15:59that don't add up
15:59Oscar T asks
16:01are you a good liar
16:02interesting question
16:04I'm a terrible liar
16:05I remember once
16:06I was doing a television interview
16:07with Bert Newton
16:08and he asked me a question
16:09and it was a little bit personal
16:11and I didn't want the world to know
16:12so I lied
16:13when I watched it back
16:14I thought
16:14oh my gosh Steve
16:15micro expressions
16:16distress signals
16:17blocking behaviours
16:18I'm a terrible liar
16:20but of course
16:21I would say that
16:22if I had to lie
16:23that's terrifying
16:26because even after all of that
16:28I'm still going to believe
16:29anything I'm told
16:30are you a good liar
16:32no absolutely not
16:33I do have a question though
16:34yeah
16:34how does one get a job title
16:36expert in deception
16:37good question
16:38I bet you we lied
16:40to get that job
16:40I can't believe a word
16:43that comes out of his mouth
16:44you're the cutest thing ever
16:46you're so proud of yourself
16:48I know
16:48I'm so proud of that lie
16:49up next
16:51Rachel Cole
16:52with rapid fire money tips
16:54without the fine print
16:56which is good
16:56because I can't read
16:57without my glasses
16:58hi I'm Rachel
17:00your money expert
17:00let's jump straight into it
17:02and talk about superannuation
17:03and how with a few small tweaks today
17:05you could be hundreds of thousands of dollars
17:07better off by retirement
17:08now as with everything finance related
17:09the following is general in nature
17:11and you should consult an expert
17:12for advice on your particular situation
17:14now superannuation
17:15is one of the most powerful tools we have
17:17to set ourselves up financially
17:19but for most Australians
17:20we get our first account
17:21when we're 18
17:22we start working
17:23the employer puts in 12%
17:24and we kind of just forget about it
17:26and we get access to that money again
17:27when we turn 60
17:28now statistically
17:29it's likely an industry fund
17:30and likely a low cost balanced fund
17:32because that's the default in Australia
17:33now your super fund
17:35is the group responsible
17:36for investing your money
17:37and we have choice
17:38over who manages that money
17:39but we also have choice
17:40over how that money is invested
17:42now a balanced portfolio
17:43which is appropriate
17:44for someone in middle life
17:45that wants to take on moderate risk
17:46will deliver you a 6-7% return
17:48over time
17:49because it's part shares
17:50and part cash
17:50but it may be more appropriate
17:52for someone with more time
17:53on their side
17:53to be in a high growth fund
17:55which will deliver that sort of 8-9% return over time
17:57if we've got time in the market
17:59to ride out the associated risk
18:00now a 2% return differential over time
18:03doesn't sound like a lot
18:04but that's hundreds of thousands of dollars
18:05of difference over time
18:07now if you're under 50
18:08your biggest asset is time
18:10and we want those great returns
18:12to compound over the long term
18:13if you're over 50
18:15it's a great idea to see a financial planner
18:16and consider your transition to retirement
18:18and maybe making catch-up contributions
18:20if that's appropriate for you
18:22one in five Australians
18:23also have multiple super accounts
18:25which means you're paying fees
18:26in lots of different places
18:27and many of us don't even know
18:28those accounts exist
18:29in fact there's $17 billion
18:31of lost superannuation in Australia
18:33so you need to check on MyGov
18:34or the ATO website
18:35if some of that's yours
18:36remember your superannuation
18:38is for retirement
18:38we just want it working
18:39as hard for us as possible
18:41still to come on Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
18:43we dim the lights
18:44settle the jitters
18:46and bring back
18:47you guessed it
18:48the box of dev
18:50this week's victim
18:51is superstar fashion icon
18:54Nadia Bartel
18:55for you anything
18:56I wonder what she'll choose
18:59find out
19:00just after the break
19:01welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
19:11it is time to head underground
19:13with our good friends
19:16at The Drain Man
19:17their relining crew
19:19that's right
19:20relining
19:21tackles blockages
19:23like tree roots
19:24without tearing up
19:25your whole backyard
19:26and the fun twist
19:28the entire relining crew
19:30at The Drain Man
19:32are actually ladies
19:34they're females
19:35they're drain ladies
19:36I like drain ladies
19:37let's meet them
19:38as a plumber by trade
19:46for 10 years
19:46I have seen a lot
19:48of cracked pipes
19:49in my time
19:49that can cause
19:50excessive water damage
19:51and drainage problems
19:53if not fixed correctly
19:54this can be
19:55a costly experience
19:56and also tear up
19:58your entire backyard
19:59what if I told you
20:00there was a way
20:01that would save you money
20:02be better for the environment
20:04and you don't have to
20:05tear up your whole backyard
20:07let's go have a look
20:10hello hello
20:12firstly can I say
20:13I'm so stoked to see you out there
20:14as a fellow trades woman
20:16do you get looks
20:16when you rock up on site or?
20:18um yeah we do sometimes
20:20they do get a shock
20:21when there's a woman out there
20:22nah I'm excited to get into it
20:24can I help with this?
20:25yeah
20:25can you explain what relining is?
20:30because there's a lot of drains out there
20:31that has tree roots growing through it
20:33relining is when we kind of insert the liners through the drain
20:37basically you've got your cracked pipe
20:39and you come in
20:40create a resin sleeve inside
20:42so it's a pipe on the outside
20:44and then another pipe on the inside
20:46so this is where we're putting the resin in
20:48once it's cured
20:49it just looks like a brand new PVC pipe
20:50yeah
20:51so it kind of just blends into the existing pipe
20:55basically the girls whack the resin in there
20:58then this bladder goes in and it expands
21:00Bob's your uncle
21:02yeah pretty much
21:05so Rosie once you create the resin
21:07time is money isn't it
21:08well if we don't get it in time
21:10it cures on the spot
21:11then what happens?
21:13drilling works
21:14pretty much drilling works
21:16okay
21:17relining saves you from the expensive process of ripping up the ground and replacing pipes
21:22but it's a precise job that has to happen in just a few minutes
21:26all right we're using ultra fast resin
21:28we only have 10 minutes before it sets
21:30so we need to get the resin in
21:31get it down there
21:32or else the job is ruined
21:35we're done
21:36dusted
21:37the girls have the new lining prepped
21:39and another operator is waiting further along the pipe
21:41ready to help guide it into position
21:44all right it's go time
21:46we're going to mix in this
21:47and then the clock is ticking
21:49ready
21:50and go
21:53so we're mixing up the resin now
21:56looks like a nice caramel sauce
22:00stuff like that's so satisfying
22:02so they're just wetting it now
22:07making sure it gets an even layer
22:10time is ticking
22:14they're putting the tape on
22:15then once they get the air compressor on
22:17and inflate it
22:18the tape will break off
22:19turn into a nice beautiful pipe
22:22we're on three minutes 44
22:26so now they're just positioning it
22:27making sure it's in the exact right spot
22:29before it hardens
22:30all right give me a slack please
22:32bit of slack please
22:34you got slack
22:36tell them to hold tension real tight tension
22:38hold your tension there please greg really tight
22:41all right going up don't let it bounce back
22:43yeah holding tight
22:45going up
22:48the tape's just popped
22:49so i'm gonna keep holding it all right just keep holding your tight tension
22:56so we just hit eight minutes literally two minutes left it's quite a stressful thing
23:01we are we good all good greg
23:05the operator just confirmed it's in it's done we got it with a minute 30 to spare
23:13we did it when i say we i mean the girls did it
23:20we just finished the job the girls absolutely smashed it out and i was just talking to the
23:25homeowner and he said if he didn't do the relining he would have had to rip up his shed rip up the
23:30concrete and it would have cost him an absolute fortune
23:35once the pipe is damaged it needs to be relined or replaced so how can you prevent it from getting
23:41to that stage it's all about being proactive and there are some measures you can take to get on
23:47top of it these are warning signs and some of those warning signs are frequently blocked toilets
23:54slow draining water bad smells that gurgle noise and also tree roots it's all about being proactive
24:02but it doesn't end with what you do in your house what you do in your garden as well has a huge impact
24:08the trees you plant have a huge impact some trees with more aggressive roots that might ruin your
24:21pipes in the long run are things like willow trees fig trees and aspens some alternatives are your
24:28frangipani's your ornamental pears your bottle brush native shrubs they're less likely to damage your pipes
24:35with hotter summers and heavier rainfall climate change is literally shaping the ground beneath us
24:43the ground shifts pipes crack roots come in and that's when you need to call the girls out from drain man
24:51now don't underestimate basic drain care avoid flushing your wipes know your pipe layout and plant
24:58those pesky trees about six to eight meters away from your pipes if you keep your drains happy then they'll
25:04keep you happy that is very cool i actually don't need anything relined but i might make up a problem
25:14just to get those girls over to my place you know what time it is now yes it is the part of the show
25:20where things get a little creepy crawly and a little bit uncomfortable it's the box of death
25:26and tonight's guest has built a fashion label out of sleek minimalism and pure class but don't let
25:39that fool you she's anything but minimal i felt like i was going to say she's anything but classy say
25:45hello to my friend nadia bartell you are a very very brave girl to take a phone call from me that
25:53says don't worry about anything just turn up for you anything you're very sweet now normally we would
25:58just have a gas bag find out you know what's cooking with you but this is not that sort of interview okay
26:06you are going to make a choice in the next 60 seconds you're going to hold something it's going
26:13to have a pulse and two of them are standing behind you right now nadia bartell please choose
26:19between lara and olive python okay we love olives nadia we love olives a little bit warm delicious
26:27yeah all right and mike here he's holding henrietta she is a golden huntsman i hate spiders everybody
26:35hates spiders you can see those choices you can go with one that you know or you can pick what's in
26:42the box of death
26:48i was just thinking though maybe that like i don't mind that maybe that's like a mouse or
26:52rat well that which i would die oh is that worse oh yeah a mouse or a rat a rodent yeah worse yeah
27:00that is so interesting you've got a tough decision ahead of you whether to risk it
27:05or go with the known quantity when we come back we're going to find out what the outcome is
27:10is it a mouse is it a snake is it nadia losing her mind hopefully the latter see you soon
27:22this segment is brought to you by the amy driving test lucky you're with amy
27:29welcome back this is healthy wealthy and wise where we are joined by the magnificent nadia bartell
27:37i've given you a very very tough choice to make here you've got to choose between
27:41a snake a spider not great and whatever is in the box of death
27:52there is a part of you that wants to do that because like that's pretty exciting i'm normally
27:57a risk taker but i just can't risk it i'm gonna go to the snake you're gonna go the snake snake all
28:04right now do not worry you're in very very safe hands do you respond well to praise and enthusiasm
28:12and support no i don't really need oh well that's a shame because i've organized a special cheerleader

28:41how relaxed she is guys i'm fine all right let's start the clock by the way of course the snake
28:49matches nadia how beautiful like who does that we first came to know you when you were a lifestyle
28:55blogger with the chronicles of nadia at that time i remember you said that your car was overflowing
29:00with makeup oh really i've always wanted to know is that because you love the lighting in the car
29:07oh it's the best it's the best yeah makes your skin look flawless do you also like to pluck a
29:12whisker or two in that come on i'm italian what do you think that says it all doesn't it you've
29:20co-founded your gorgeous fashion label henny with your sister michelle when you disagree on designs do
29:25you see who can run down the hallway quickest to dob to your mum oh it's definitely michelle
29:31really she calls dad always really yeah she does it around the dinner table we always do dinner at
29:36mums on mondays oh my gosh and then she'll just yeah i bet you that's nasty if i had told you
29:46oh no no your fine lines campaign the bra oh yes was everywhere i was in the city you glided past me on
29:54the side of a tram and i said out loud i'm not ashamed to say jesus that is an amazing set of
30:00buzies when you first saw the photos did you go not really i wasn't that happy with it poor dad he had
30:08to see the there was a tram out the front of his house that just had my boobs in front of it every
30:13single day it's terrible i just thought your hair was the snake's head and i was gonna go
30:22ladies and gentlemen that is it's nadia bartell thank you so much for your time tonight
30:30still saturday night your hair's done you can hit the dance floor my girl next up amy stanton is on hand
30:38with the little fixes and clever tricks that can save you big headaches at home today i want to
30:45show you some super useful home maintenance tips that could save you a ton of trouble now i'm a tradie
30:52at heart and also expecting another little one on the way so i'm all about safe easy and simple
30:59we've got four tips for you that could prevent a disaster like a fire or flood let's get into it
31:08tip number one check your flexi hoses there are common cause for water damage
31:14we're talking one in ten insurance claims are caused by burst flexi hoses let's have a look at these ones
31:20lucky for the homeowner these are in perfect nick these ones not so good if yours is starting to look
31:31like this it may turn into this we even suggest getting them replaced every five to ten years
31:38even if they look all right
31:42extra tip if you're going away on holidays turn your water off at the mains a burst hose can fill a pool
31:47in a day tip number two let's talk lithium-ion batteries and fire safety now these batteries
31:55are found in everything from your phone to your laptop to even your power tool charges always use
32:02a proper charger and cord not the dodgy ones and then charge your things on hard surfaces not your couch
32:10or your bed now i know we've all done it but don't overload your power boards this one's starting
32:17to look like an octopus and can catch fire real quick don't forget to check your fire alarms don't
32:26wait for the beep check the batteries at least once a year tip three clean your gutters now i know
32:35cleaning your gutters isn't the most glamorous task but it has to be done preferably we say about twice a
32:41year why water damage is the number one thing if these leaves build up and water gets back into your
32:48ceiling it can cause a lot of mold and water damage then another reason bushfire season these leaves are
32:56the perfect fuel for embers an ember from a bushfire or even your neighbor's fireplace can land in here and
33:05ignite your whole house not good tip number four give your hot water unit some tlc now if you have
33:13a hottie like this one it's got a little gizmo on it called the pressure relief valve and basically what
33:19that does it stops your unit from overheating and exploding like a pressure cooker and all we have to
33:26do is test it once every six months now all we have to do to test it is pull this little lever for about five
33:33seconds and water should gush out the bottom if water gushes out we're all good if it doesn't you
33:41may need to call your local plumber and get this bad boy replaced most of these tips are quick and won't
33:50cost you anything but could literally prevent a disaster in the future so get on it now before
33:55it costs you way more time and money very interesting but that whole time i was thinking
34:02if we get another season it's going to be a baby it's going to be two people there hey guys amy here
34:09now you might have been following my pregnancy journey from all the way back on episode one
34:13where chrissy asked me if i'd swallowed a goat just a few too many beers no but i would like to announce
34:20the safe arrival of our beautiful girl and darcy violet she came so quickly not long after we finished
34:28filming actually and we got to the car park and she was literally born seven minutes later and we
34:35were basically back home working in the garden a few hours after that so all is well here we can't
34:41wait for our next healthy wealthy and wise adventure it's pretty exciting after the break we are heading
34:47back to bendigo it's susa's big moment to shine as chica brings her makeover to life trust me do not miss
34:57this reveal oh my goodness me it's gorgeous see you soon
35:04healthy wealthy and wise is brought to you by spec savers
35:16yay welcome back to healthy wealthy wise great to see you we have been hanging out
35:20for this reveal from the very beginning of this episode it's susa's big wardrobe reset now chica you
35:28have spent some serious time with her this has been like a top to tail overhaul and it was amazing
35:36i mean you even changed up her glasses i know which really made a huge difference where were you when
35:41i thought those little round john lennon ones were a good idea on this giant head i was probably with
35:47suz oh playing favorites now are we sorry let's see your new best friend
35:51are you ready for this for spec savers it's going to be fun we're going to get you some new frames and
36:00we're going to just try on some different shapes and see what works for you that sounds color shape
36:04the whole thing so the vip service is waiting for us all right let's do it let's do it i'm excited for you
36:09so sus how long have you been wearing glasses for since i was in year seven basically full time
36:22well i'm loving all these different colors and shapes and i feel like what we need to do is just
36:26try on a variety of things and just see what works with your coloring in your hair and what
36:29you do and don't like look i'm loving this blue i do like blue i like that i think they're really
36:34strong have a little look in the mirror and see what you think and i like the color i think they
36:38work beautifully something a bit brighter and a bit fun now i'm a little bit obsessed with all
36:42kinds of caramel okay let's try that no nope they're not very much too big on my face you think
36:49so yeah no they're definitely not for you they're not the right color at all that's also quite a
36:53pretty color these sort of tortoiseshell ones i think that'd be gorgeous and with the golds through
36:57it it will also lighten up your face yes i like those a lot actually i think we probably need to
37:02get some professional help now because we could do this i could do this all day absolutely
37:08hello how are you my name's iran i'm just here to give you some frame styling advice if you need
37:13that today so we're trying to get sue's a couple of pairs of new glasses we're upgrading her wardrobe
37:18and these are a couple that we tried on that we loved just the coloring of more than the shape so
37:22we've got some good selections here are you more interested in a designer brand that probably has a
37:27bit more flair so this frame here will probably suit your features a bit more so it's just a darker
37:31frame it still has a tortoiseshell oh i like them a lot they definitely feel nice on my face too and again
37:37that's the kind of glasses you can have trans-seasonally yes you know winter summer they will look
37:42beautiful great for the weekend sport but going out for dinner what's the general rule when it comes to
37:47glasses and shape for face and all the rest of it with an oval face we tend to do softer round ones
37:52draw the attention to the chin a little bit more we also have a face shape that's like our heart
37:57so for those type of frames we want to be looking at the ones that draw away the attention from the chin
38:02then we also have a face shape that is just a real face but we're looking at more rectangular frames
38:07okay well let's see some other examples
38:16yep they're perfect look beautiful let's pop those through no worries i'll put them through now thank you
38:23with suzer's stylish specs sorted it was time to head to blue illusion to complete her new look

38:54some new shapes and i think that's what we're going to try and do is discover who you are now at
38:58this age and stage in life that sounds lovely oh i think we can play dress-ups now i can
39:05is there anything that's jumping out here for you i quite like the green it's not something i'd
39:09normally wear beautiful i love this one look at the color i know put on the green how gorgeous the
39:18green the green i'm not sure though if you don't need a longer dress down to about here is going to
39:22be more flattering 100 you need more length when you're a bit taller i think it does cut you off
39:26just cut you off and that's quite beautiful beautiful too you know what it doesn't hurt to
39:30try them all on see how much nicer that looks being that longer sometimes you have days where
39:35you want to show off away and sometimes there are days where you just don't cinch it in yeah
39:39you see it just gives you some shape and i like these with this dress because they're a little bit
39:42lighter gorgeous okay absolutely gorgeous
