00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's Weather Update.
00:04For Monday we've got fairly clear skies, the heat is coming back
00:07and this here is a low pressure trough that is going to produce some showers and
00:11thunderstorms. It may tend to steady light rain at times but
00:15it's the hit and miss showers and thunderstorms that are in it that are going to add up to the most.
00:20So in terms of our trough, it's running down and through here by the end of the day
00:23so all of the heat, it's a northeasterly wind that is making it right through to the
00:27southwest. Today the wet weather is confined Geraldton about northwards
00:31so that's on Monday. Have a look at Tuesday, starts to slide southwards a little bit
00:35there's our trough, we still have the heat. Have a look at Wednesday, starting to
00:39move eastwards but right down to the southwest as well. Plus the heat
00:43is about to come to an end so that's Wednesday. Have a look at Thursday, that has started
00:47to move inland and this is stretching eastwards across the southern parts
00:51in through there so a nice lengthy weather system to take us through the week.
00:55Have a look at Friday, most of that has now moved further eastwards and it's fairly
00:59clear on that western coast but now on the cool side of things.
01:03Have a look at Saturday, our next one may come up from the south and move through
01:07but that's not extending any further inland. There's Sunday and into next Monday
01:11high pressure that is back over to our west.
01:14What might that add up to in one of the better parts of the country in terms of wet weather
01:17this week unless you're right up the top where there could be a tropical system.
01:20So 15 to 25, 10 to 15 millimetres.
01:23There is some widespread wet weather activity here but it's the hit and miss
01:27showers and thunderstorms in that that are going to add up to the most.
01:30So if you're directly under one of those then yes you will get a heavy fall.
01:34Let's have a look at what that means for Perth.
01:36Let's have a look at temperatures. Here we are 32, 29, 30.
01:40So the heat has finally returned but on Wednesday that is where we're likely to see
01:44most of the wet weather and that's also when the cool change moves through.
01:48So here we have generally an easterly wind then it turns southwesterly
01:52after that as our temperatures go down across the weekend 23 and then 21.
01:57So most of the wet weather is on Wednesday.
01:59There's a little bit more Thursday to Friday.
02:00I wouldn't expect it to add up to much unless you're under one of those showers or storms.
02:04We're in the southwesterly across the weekend so we're in the low 20s.
02:08As always head to far and long weather for the least.
