00:00You know, you always feel like, oh, I'm going to read a book of this to her.
00:02It never happens.
00:03Only pee-pees, no poo-poos, okay?
00:05This is like the best readily available bourbon that isn't $200.
00:30Hey, hey, welcome in.
00:42What's going on?
00:42Come on.
00:43Please, enter the Blue Stones bus.
00:45So we are on our Metro North American tour that is in promotion of our new album, Metro,
00:52which we're very proud to have released.
00:54And we're here at the Vic Theater in Chicago.
00:56And a little bit more of a different setup last time we were on a bandwagon,
01:01and now we got a real bus, baby.
01:04Suspension.
01:05Legit.
01:06So let's take a tour.
01:07Dance party.
01:08Yeah, we typically like to host dance parties on nights that we don't particularly go out to bars.
01:15We just kind of get the crew and us in here.
01:18We're running DJ through Bluetooth on here.
01:20Got a couple of music videos playing on the TV.
01:22All the drinks are here.
01:23Yep, and we just kind of go wild in here, you know?
01:25Well, it's kind of fun, like as the bus is shaking, it got up on couches.
01:29You know, a lot of crazy stuff happens, right?
01:31So bus parties are definitely number one in this front line.
01:33Yeah, this is the bus party zone.
01:35Lately, it's been a lot of Charlie XCX, a lot of John Summit, Malaha, right?
01:41Yeah, yeah.
01:42Some justice kind of sprinkled in there for feeling a little bit more hedgy EDM.
01:47I'm trying to think of it.
01:47It's a lot of electronic dance music.
01:49Like, it's a lot.
01:50That's just what we end up bopping soon.
01:53Got to do it.
01:54Yeah.
01:54Got to do it.
01:54Yeah.
01:55It's great.
01:56This one's very clearly mine.
01:59Peanut butter, I like all natural creamy.
02:01Tarek's you eat, I kill.
02:02It's very simple.
02:03Very simple rule to follow, to be honest.
02:05And then in case I am feeling a little bit crunchy, I do have a crunchy.
02:08And again, you know, I just make sure that everybody knows.
02:10It's a little crunchy.
02:11A little crunchy, as is the disclaimer.
02:14A little crunchy.
02:14We basically have a fully working bakery here.
02:16Yeah, all different types of bread.
02:18Way too much bread here.
02:19I think it's because everybody has like different preferences.
02:22Yeah, I mean, I like the honey wheat.
02:24Okay.
02:24Because I like, I have a little bit of a sweet tooth.
02:27I like the Killer Dave's, Dave's Killer Bread.
02:29Yeah, that's good.
02:30Someone likes them.
02:31Yeah, I mean, every once in a while, I'll be a little nasty and I'll dip into the white bread.
02:36You know, like the fluffy white bread.
02:38Quest bars are must-have every day.
02:40Every day.
02:41So much fiber, so much protein, good stuff.
02:43Obviously, there's wine.
02:44There's like booze just hidden everywhere.
02:46Oh, actually.
02:48This might have been a victim of the dance party at one point.
02:52Ryder is sandwich materials.
02:55Usually.
02:56So, deli meats, turkey, ham, mortadella, breads, obviously, every single night.
03:02We are a big sandwich group.
03:04I'm going to pull something out.
03:05We can go into this drawer after, but there's a key element as to why we're such a big sandwich group.
03:11I think it is the top drawer there, Tess.
03:13Is it top drawer?
03:13Oh, it's just beer-y.
03:15Yeah.
03:16Well, there's a toaster.
03:18Well, there is a toaster as well, right?
03:19So, this is for the morning, you know, peanut butter jam toast.
03:22If you're feeling like you need a little practice.
03:24But this is really the key reason why we're such a sandwich group.
03:27Let's sit.
03:29Panini press.
03:30How many buses, you know, with a fully operational panini press?
03:35Not many.
03:35Not many.
03:35Not many at all.
03:36Not many.
03:37Not many at all.
03:38That does really well during the dance parties, actually.
03:41Yeah.
03:41Also dangerous.
03:42Yeah.
03:43Yeah.
03:43Okay.
03:43So, this is obviously the most important liquor drawer.
03:47A lot of bourbon.
03:48Specifically the bourbons.
03:49Yeah.
03:50These are like our bourbons of choice.
03:50Make this here, obviously.
03:51Make this small batch is good.
03:53The Woodford double oak.
03:54This is our Ryder bourbon, Woodford double oaked.
03:59So many times we don't get the double oaked and I'm like, man, it's right beside the normal
04:04stuff.
04:04Yeah.
04:04It's just that much.
04:05This is like the best readily available bourbon that isn't $200 by far.
04:11So, we always go with that with the Ryder because it's consistent.
04:13That's great.
04:14Uh, we got some good stuff in here.
04:16Sometimes we have to switch it up.
04:17We'll do like on Saturdays or whatever, we'll do some mezcal or some tequila.
04:21Um, a good buddy of ours who has a cool Instagram page got us this.
04:31We haven't even cracked it yet.
04:32Yeah.
04:33But this is a very, very, very fine bourbon.
04:35Yeah.
04:36We'll probably crack this at the end of the tour once we're capping everything off.
04:40Yeah.
04:41But, so we always appreciate good bourbon, um, good rare stuff, but yeah, exactly.
04:47This is kind of like the rest of our crew items here.
04:50So this big drawer here, you might want to come around, um, we have cutlery on top.
04:54Okay.
04:55We have spices and seasonings because our front of house, our sound guy, loves to cook on tour.
05:01He has a charcoal grill that he brings.
05:02He has a black stone that he brings, which is basically like a big griddle.
05:05So we have a lot of materials.
05:07So he's able to make us amazing smash burgers and quesadillas and fajitas and just really whatever
05:13you can think of on the grill, uh, underneath that more spices, more protein bars.
05:16We have so many protein bars.
05:17I know.
05:18I just realized, um, we have teas.
05:21Then we get into a bit more of the healthy stuff here.
05:23So we have, uh, our tea drawer, our hydration, right?
05:26Our hydration multipliers, which I never really understood.
05:28Yeah.
05:29Why is it?
05:30I don't know.
05:31It doesn't really make sense.
05:33More bread here.
05:34Amazingly.
05:35Okay.
05:36Then as we keep going, this is our kitchen items, but also doubles as our vitamin drawer,
05:41right?
05:42Magnesium, zinc, vitamin D, ashwagandha is in here.
05:46I mean, we really got everything.
05:47We've got almost like a fully operational pharmacy in here.
05:50Um, but you can't quote me on that because we'll get in a lot of trouble.
05:53And then finally, we have our dirty little snack drawer.
05:58So this is usually full of chips and actually specifically full of like jalapeno chips.
06:03Yeah.
06:04But now we have, um, just some tortilla chips.
06:07And then underneath it all, let's take a look at this.
06:11Look at all this hot sauce that we have.
06:13Okay.
06:14And like untouched as well.
06:16There's some that are, um, but sometimes if we have wings or like some kind of meat where
06:21we cook on tour, we just like to have the option.
06:23You know, we're not going to use it, but we want the option.
06:25All right.
06:26So the game, the game on tour, if we're not doing, uh, like a DJ bus party, dance party,
06:33we're playing Yahtzee.
06:35Okay.
06:36Um, Tarek does a very special version called DJ Yahtzee.
06:42He has a playlist built out of songs that represent the person who's rolling the dice.
06:48And right the second that they touch the dice, your song comes on.
06:51Your next song comes on.
06:52So you're always looking forward to your next turn, so you never know what song you're going
06:55to get next.
06:56Um, but Yahtzee is an absolutely underrated game.
06:59It's incredibly exciting.
07:00Yeah.
07:01We've had some of our best nights on the bus.
07:02It's so simple.
07:03It's so simple.
07:04All you need is five days.
07:05That's it.
07:06It's pretty great.
07:07It's the best.
07:08For the most part, they're just shoes.
07:09So I think this is, yeah, just a couple of shoes.
07:12I think it's the same thing here.
07:15Yeah.
07:16These are all just shoes.
07:17I put sandals here.
07:18This one has these weird like slats for like, the sandals don't really fit.
07:23I don't know what else these would be for, so I've been putting myself in.
07:27Um, that's really all that is.
07:29Well, before you do that, I mean.
07:32Toilet.
07:33Okay.
07:34So, as everybody who's been in a bus knows, only peepees, no poo-poos.
07:38Okay.
07:39Um, and that's because of the plumbing, but also the hole.
07:41But yeah, this is basically, you know, an operational bathroom.
07:44Um, right here is really interesting.
07:47Normally for a towel, but I find it's nice for, and support, you know, especially when the
07:51bus is moving.
07:52Um, you know, and kind of just make sure that your aim is on.
07:55So that's the toilet.
07:56Fridge.
07:57So we have a bunch of condiments here.
08:01Some homemade jam.
08:02Thank God.
08:03That's actually for the Darcy's.
08:04Oh, wow.
08:05Um, we have a lot of different things like salsa, hummus, Diet Coke.
08:10It's kind of just like a mishmash of things, but there's the deli meats that we were talking
08:14about.
08:15Cheeses, butter in case we're making toast, jalapeno in case we're feeling a little bit spicy.
08:20And, uh, coffee.
08:21I think that's cold brew coffee every day.
08:23Oh, cold brew coffee.
08:24That's like, I don't even really go to coffee shops anymore.
08:26I just do the cold brew thing.
08:27Right when you wake up.
08:28Yeah.
08:29And then our freezer.
08:30Some burgers.
08:31Some wings.
08:32There's actually some salt and straw ice cream in there.
08:35Which is not ours, but I'm going to take some.
08:38Air compressor doors.
08:39Great when they work.
08:40Awful when they don't.
08:42These ones work.
08:44With the power of force.
08:46Isn't that incredible?
08:47Welcome to bunk alley.
08:50Bunk selection is very important.
08:52I actually had to switch bunks mid-tour because I wasn't sleeping so well.
08:57So I was in the middle.
08:59I ended up going on the bottom.
09:00I like, I'll just show you my bunk.
09:02I like the bottom because, so the bottom you usually get, um, a little more bump, but
09:10not as much sway.
09:11Okay.
09:12And as a side sleeper, when I was sleeping up top, anytime that the driver turned, I would
09:17fall and wake up.
09:18And so I went for the bottom and sleeps have been a lot better because of that.
09:23Um, I put like a little mattress topper on my, it's like a foam mattress topper.
09:28It just makes it a little more comfortable.
09:30That's why it looks a little messy.
09:31I swear it's not.
09:32Um, got a little alcove thing here.
09:35Put your glasses in here.
09:36Got a book that I've read about two pages of.
09:39Uh, you know, you always feel like, oh, I'm going to read a book this tour.
09:42It never happens.
09:43Never happens.
09:44Um, yeah.
09:45Yeah.
09:46So that's, that's my bunk.
09:47Yep.
09:48That's my bunk selection.
09:49This is, you know, we do have a total of four junk bunks, um, just because of our ratio
09:52of crude bunks on this tour, which is really nice.
09:55It makes for, you know, very spacious atmosphere.
09:57This is a very prototypical junk bunk, right?
10:00This is specifically mine and Justin's junk bunk.
10:03Yeah.
10:04So we'll have our personals on here, like personal carry ons, which we use to go to and from the
10:08bus into venues.
10:09Um, we have our backpacks or toiletries.
10:12Uh, just kind of random things strewn about.
10:15But I also keep my acoustic guitar, which I use for VIP in an actual bunk because I find
10:20that if you keep it in a trailer, it's going to get rattled around a lot.
10:24And if you keep it in a bay, it's going to get really, really hot.
10:27Yeah.
10:28So the temperature will screw with your tuning.
10:29So it's really, really well placed here in the junk bunk.
10:32Um, really the rule on the bus is you don't have any bags or anything on seating areas,
10:38like chairs or couches.
10:39You have so many junk bunks that there's no reason for you to put a bag on a couch.
10:43And if you do, you're going to absolutely call it out for it.
10:45Oh yeah.
10:46Happens every day.
10:47But yeah.
10:48So eight people on the bus, which means four junk bunks.
10:51So it's nice because every, everybody gets half of a junk bunk to themselves.
10:56And there's a lot of tours where it's like 10 people on the bus, which means 10 people
11:00with bags and only two junk bunks.
11:02And that's a nightmare.
11:03Uh, so we're, we're definitely, we have it nice and easy just being a two person man.
11:08Nice touch that we've, we've added here is actually identifiers for everybody in the bunks.
11:12So Jesse, you know, he's our hacker.
11:14Um, we have Caroline, our tour manager, who's just like a rock and roll chick.
11:18Avi, who is just super into little cute things.
11:21He's like a buddy.
11:22Little identifiers of who everybody is.
11:25Um, and it just kind of helps to see like where everybody is in case for whatever reason.
11:29Um, but really the rule is when the curtains close, like that's you behind the curtain.
11:34You know, you don't, you don't open a curtain.
11:36That's insane.
11:37That's your time.
11:38So, um, this is my bunk.
11:40I, I do choose the middle on the driver's side.
11:43I find that the driver is more attentive and is closer to their side.
11:47So they're less likely to go on a rumble strip.
11:50Um, also the middle is just kind of a good ratio of, of sway to not a lot of rattle on the lower bunks.
11:58Um, I haven't really experimented with, actually, well, before I used to do a top bunk.
12:02And the reason why is because top bunks almost always, another top bunk here, have a higher ceiling, right?
12:08So, if you are a side sleeper or if you get a little bit claustrophobic and you don't mind the height,
12:13top bunk is probably your choice.
12:15Because you just have a lot more.
12:17Just a pain to get in and out of.
12:18That is true.
12:19That's another reason why I like the ground.
12:20Yes.
12:21Because you just slide right in, slide right out.
12:23Yeah.
12:24You, top bunk you gotta like climb.
12:26You gotta like put your foot on someone's, and that's what, one thing that sucks about the middle bunk,
12:31is that in the middle of the night you'll just have someone's foot fucking stepping up here to get into your, that's a pain in the ass.
12:37The amount of times I go to the washroom at night, too.
12:39Yeah.
12:40There's no way I could be on a top bunk.
12:41I just drink so much water, that I'm up like three times a night.
12:44Yeah.
12:45With the, with the, with the, and here's the back lounge.
12:50This is it.
12:51So, another entertainment zone.
12:53Yes.
12:54Lately it's an entertainment zone, it's a casino.
12:57It was a casino last night.
12:59It was a casino last night.
13:00The casino last night, and uh, yeah, I lost my shirt.
13:03Um, brought the PS5 on tour.
13:06It's great for just like decompressing at the end of the night, wind down with some video games.
13:10It's awesome.
13:11And it's good to put it back here because obviously people want to hang in the front lounge.
13:13Yeah.
13:14You know, you want some privacy and they want some privacy.
13:15Yeah.
13:16So, I finished Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
13:18It was really, really great.
13:20Um, we both said that that was one of the games that like brought me back to like Skyrim level.
13:25Yes.
13:26Of like, wow, this is really, really good game.
13:28Yeah.
13:29Um, so that was really good.
13:30And I just finished that and we only have two days left so I'm not playing anything else.
13:33But, last night we were playing Pass the Pigs.
13:36Back here.
13:37Great game.
13:38Underrated game.
13:39And we were playing for money.
13:40And uh, we had some exciting games.
13:41Small bets, but good bets.
13:42Yeah.
13:43But exciting games.
13:44It gets really, really, really good.
13:45Exciting games.
13:46So that was really good.
13:47Uh, back here the uh, drawers are just again, shoes.
13:52You can never have enough room for shoes.
13:54Yep.
13:55Same thing here.
13:56Bunch of shoes.
13:57Yep.
13:58Usually we keep, you know, our show clothes will be in the back lounge.
14:02Uh, this is more of just like a hat and lanyard sort of cupboard, but also we have this,
14:07the fabric spray, you know, just as we are letting things dry, it's nice to keep them smelling
14:12pretty good.
14:13Um, but yeah, this is typically where we keep all of our show clothes.
14:16So, if we open up these cupboards here, you know, we're jamming them all in here.
14:21This is all of our show outfits, right?
14:23Jackets, shirts, but it's, it's where we keep what we wear for shows because we can hang
14:30them up.
14:31Um, if something gets particularly sweaty, we take it out of the cupboard and we let
14:34it hang just so it can get some air flow.
14:37This is basically just like a, another junk zone.
14:40Yeah.
14:41Yeah.
14:42If we had more clothes, we'd probably put it in there.
14:43Yeah.
14:44Yeah.
14:45Well, thanks for spending your time with us.
14:46Um, you know, we do have a new record out.
14:48You can find us on our website, but more importantly, just look us up on Instagram and TikTok.
14:52We're just on there every single day.
14:54That's probably where we're going to get the most news.
14:55Yep.
14:56Make sure you spend the new record Metro.
