00:00The All-Ireland Championship, the very pinnacle of our Gaelic games, and winning one is the dream of every player.
00:10It's the top of the mountain. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
00:13The expectation of Kenny is to win the All-Ireland and there's nothing else about it.
00:18In Camogie, one team has dominated for the last two years and shows no sign of giving up their title.
00:25And Cork are the All-Ireland Champions again!
00:28Cork have set their sights on a rare three in a row.
00:31Do you ever feel like the room is heavy, like the air is hot and the air is sweaty?
00:36And why the other counties respect them?
00:38They're fast-paced, aggressive, smart hurling.
00:41They're hungry to take their place.
00:43They are a phenomenal team, but they're beautiful.
00:48We're never going to be too far away. I'm going to always give someone a fair run for their money.
00:52Watching the world go around the wind.
00:57In this series, we follow the teams hunting down Cork's crown to bring a championship back to their county.
01:03How much do you want this?
01:05It'll just mean the world.
01:10I love winning, and I absolutely want that at inter-county level.
01:13This is the best fucking time I've ever liked.
01:14If we get a performance that we're looking for, no team will be able to beat us.
01:18If we want to win in All-Ireland, we're not going to win it by being nice.
01:21We never give up! We never stop!
01:23We never stop!
01:37So here now in Croke Park on All-Ireland, Camogie Finals, day 2024.
01:41In last year's Camogie Finals, Galway played against champions Cork.
01:46And it was neck and neck until just a few minutes from the end.
01:49Running onto it is Caridola.
01:52Cross.
01:54Need to be a little bit better than that.
01:56Yep, wide.
01:58Soarstrom and Clark, front of the goalpost.
02:01Sends this between the posts and over the wall.
02:04We're gone past the 66th minute, heading towards the 67th.
02:07And Clark are the All-Ireland champions again.
02:11We were so close and the All-Ireland was in hand's reach.
02:15You're devastated.
02:17I found that final loss now really, really tough to be honest to take.
02:20I suppose maybe as I get older, I'm not sure if those chances are going to come around as often maybe as they did.
02:26Fourth, two in a row, fourth, 30th All-Ireland championship title.
02:32What we want is to be a generational team.
02:34What hasn't been done is the three in a row and maybe it's a bit too early to start talking about that.
02:38We'll enjoy the winter and we'll enjoy the celebrations, but like, God, it's just amazing.
02:43It was the worst stress in my mind being in. It's awful. It's not a nice place to be.
02:50There's definitely something I store it. You always have next year.
02:54For this year's remaining teams in the championship, any thoughts of taking Cork's crown must wait for several weeks.
03:06And there are still plenty of hurdles yet to cross.
03:09As the group stages come towards their conclusion, last year's finalists Galway are about to take on unbeaten Waterford.
03:17And the winner will go straight to the semifinals.
03:19You top the group, you get four weeks off, and if you don't, you're in a quarterfinal in the following week.
03:31Leading up to the Galway game, you know, you're very happy we are a top team.
03:36Waterford have never won an All-Island senior camogie title.
03:40And beating Galway would be a huge step towards that goal.
03:44Everyone in the country thinks that Galway and Cork are going to be an All-Island final.
03:47If they want to put the rest of them up there on the mantle, that's grand.
03:50But it's up to us now to try and reach that bar, you know.
03:53Come on, let's go, come on. Excellent, we're done. Keep walking, we're done.
03:57Going into the Galway match, you know, we had secured our position to get into a quarterfinal.
04:02There was no shackles on us.
04:03Ball alley I suppose is all kind of hand-eye coordination. I play cornerback. If I miss the first ball, I miss my first touch, the odds out the corner forward is going to get it.
04:19I'll be behind her and she'll be one-on-one with the goalie. So really a lot of my game is prevention, stop them. Stop them.
04:28Putting on the jersey is an honour, I suppose.
04:32Knowing you're a role model then as well for younger girls, especially voting for Camogie, it's definitely up and coming.
04:36Welcome here to Kenny Park in Nathenry and it's Galway against Waterford in the final round of the group stages of the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship.
04:51The minute we came back last year, it was okay, we've got to get back to Crowe Park and we've got to fix last year's All-Ireland final.
04:57You have a lot of hurt, you have frustration, you have anger. You're eager to, I suppose, rectify the wrongs of last year.
05:03Who will top this group and go straight through to an All-Ireland semi-final? Whoever loses will be in Crowe Park next week for a quarter-final.
05:10When you get two or three group games and you're winning the group games, vibes are good. Energy level is good.
05:24Any time you go up to Galway, it's always going to be difficult. We were under no illusion what Galway were going to bring.
05:29People might have thought that we were favourites through that game, but that was never in our heads.
05:36And we know on a given day any Camogie team can beat anyone.
05:39You could play Waterford three or four times in a month and you could have a different result every time.
05:44And they have some serious talents.
05:46Galway have this oar about them that their selves and Cork are way above everyone. Today is the DNO, lads, to change that. This is a massive opportunity, lads. Do not let it pass.
06:00Galway are a very physical team.
06:02Yeah, it was physical, it was a close game.
06:08Go, come on, get there Ola!
06:10They were going after the game as much as we were.
06:12Come on, get the blocking Ola! You have to fool in here!
06:15Waterford applying the pressure.
06:17Well done, Annie!
06:18We were really up for it, you know, we really did think we could beat him.
06:22Eve Rockett upside the 45-meter line.
06:24It was dead for Tash.
06:27Carrie Dolan with the shot, the 45 goes over the bar.
06:33The referee blows the halftime whistle, it's all square, seven each between the teams.
06:39The second half is underway.
06:41Come on, come on!
06:42Galway and Waterford match each other tackle for tackle, block for block, point for point.
06:49With four minutes remaining, the scores are level.
06:51And Carrie Dolan with the shot, and Carrie Dolan puts the ball over the bar.
06:5612 of 11 to Galway.
06:57Carrie Dolan, two minutes to go.
06:59It's just inside.
07:00Galway on their way to an All-Ireland semi-final.
07:09And the referee blows the final whistle, finished Galway 17 points, Waterford 11.
07:14Galway are through to the semi-finals, but Waterford are still in the championship.
07:17They'll be in Croke Park next week for a quarter-final.
07:21They got the win.
07:22Unfortunately we didn't, and we had to play a quarter.
07:25Just like the Hurlinger football championships, the Camogie has reached the knockout stages.
07:29Cork and Galway qualify straight to the semi-finals.
07:33With Kilkenny, Tip Clare and Waterford left to fight out the quarters.
07:37This is the knockout stages, this is where we want to be.
07:40Lose the game, your season with Kilkenny is over.
07:42Like there is a huge amount at stake.
07:45On Sunday, GIA headquarters will belong to the people of Tipperary and Kilkenny.
07:49With a double bill of Camogie quarter-finals and Hurling semi-finals involving both counties.
07:54When I was younger, I used to get so sickly nervous before matches.
08:04In my final year in college, I did my yoga teacher training and ever since then I've been able to be far more relaxed in the build-up to matches.
08:14But we played in Crowe Park five or six times. I know we only played one final there, but we played there.
08:21And everyone in work is like, oh yeah, should the lads play it after?
08:26Like as if we're irrelevant. It's on a separate day, separate venue.
08:31I know. Now in fairness, at the beginning of the week I was only kind of seeing stuff about support the Tip team and all that stuff.
08:37But a lot of stuff has...
08:39Went to plural.
08:40Yeah, they've been talking about both, like even...
08:42Organising?
08:43Buses and they're allowing them time to get to our match, like...
08:45Oh, good.
08:46So, in fairness, that's great, like...
08:49I know.
08:52I know Claude inside out. We spend a lot of her free time together.
08:54We train however many times a week together and we do extra training together and we socialise together.
08:59She's brilliant. We call her sunshine yellow. Like, wherever she goes, she lights up the room.
09:03Like, she's so positive, she's so happy. You know, she has a great outlook on life.
09:07Yeah, over the years, myself and Grace have become great pals.
09:12She is incredibly driven.
09:15You know, I've really turned and leaned into Grace over the last few years for her to, you know, give me constructive criticism and feedback.
09:24I can trust her with anything.
09:26That's the type of people that you want to be playing with.
09:29Someone who, you know, wants the best out of themselves but wants the best out of you.
09:34And very lucky that she's on my side of the team.
09:38And we'll change it in a few minutes.
09:41I can just fix it now.
09:42Everywhere you went to Kilkenny, people weren't just talking about the hurling, they were talking about the camogie.
09:58If you play for Kenny, you're expected to do really well.
10:03And we expect ourselves to do really well.
10:08We train really, really hard the two weeks leading up to that match.
10:12And we had a plan in place.
10:17That was excellent.
10:19One of the best games we've played in training this year.
10:21Back yourself to shoot one.
10:23The option of going long is very hard for tipped out.
10:26If we play space up front, all our forwards drop.
10:29It's very hard to defend that.
10:31So let's be positive all week now.
10:33And just go and fucking have a go on Sunday, okay?
10:36Yeah.
10:37All right, guys. Good stuff.
10:47And a very good afternoon, everybody.
10:49Welcome along here to Croke Park,
10:51where the sun is trying to break through,
10:53but we're looking forward to an absolute cracker
10:56between Kilkenny and Tipperary.
10:58The fact it was a double header with Tip and Kilkenny hurlers,
11:01it was a massive occasion.
11:03I nearly do the walk just because everyone else is doing it.
11:07I would be going mad if I sat inside the dressing room.
11:11You know, I like a little bit of crack, but not too much.
11:13So I know who to hover around and who to avoid.
11:16Claude Mac is one of them.
11:17Avoid, avoid.
11:21I don't know if this is going to be my last time playing in Croke Park.
11:24You never know the last time you'll run in Croke Park
11:27or represent Kilkenny.
11:29There won't be any love lost between these two sides.
11:41We're looking forward to her cracking in.
11:43Absolutely.
11:44And look, I think Tip will be slight favourites today.
11:46We are massive underdogs coming in,
11:48but I did have a great belief.
11:50Katie is named at full forward.
11:52Look, she's the leader, she's the captain,
11:54probably in the best condition of her life.
11:56And that's one out in front by Katie Power.
11:58Turns and strikes that one in.
12:00And that's the danger of Katie Power.
12:02Katie Power is a phenomenal cogey player.
12:04They set up with a sweeper
12:06that cut off the ball that we were getting inside.
12:08Maria Brennan picked up that ball.
12:10The sweeper is working.
12:11It's allowing Katie to get on the ball.
12:16Kenny brought a hunger.
12:17They brought a different intensity to us.
12:23That's the yellow character.
12:24There's lots of stages of the game there
12:26that you'd just be standing there
12:27feeling a bit useless sometimes.
12:29Especially when the ball goes over your head
12:30like four times in a row.
12:33That will be a super score.
12:34That is a super score.
12:42We probably gave one of our worst halves a camogie.
12:45So we came in at half-time furious.
12:48The ball beginning to swell now
12:50ahead of the game at four o'clock.
12:56Kenny's work rate has been so impressive.
12:58They seem a little bit more up for today
13:00so the challenge now is for Tipperary.
13:03Line caught inside towards the 21, Katie Power.
13:06Four points for her in the game so far.
13:08Plays the ball inside now.
13:09And that is Luba Kiramarta
13:10who's peeled away from everybody.
13:12Suddenly it was just wide open.
13:14This is a goal.
13:15Like, it has to be a goal.
13:17Here's an opportunity for a goal chance.
13:19Brilliant block.
13:20What a block across there.
13:22Maureen Everston, absolutely incredible
13:24to snuff out the attack.
13:26God, it was just the ultimate fear there.
13:27Jeez, that was inspiring.
13:31I suppose that was probably the first time
13:32the tipped crowd had the chance to get going.
13:34You could hear the roars.
13:35You kind of got an energy from that.
13:47And Tipperary do take the lead for the first time.
13:51Jordan McIntyre is making her way off.
13:53Obviously you don't want to be the player taken off
13:56but you'd be well aware of how are you impacting on the game.
14:01Cuiva McCarthy.
14:03And a third point.
14:04Yes it is.
14:05And Tipperary have a two-point lead.
14:07We lost our way a little bit in the second half.
14:09I was just extremely proud of the girls,
14:11the way they, you know, went about their business.
14:14It's Laura Murphy.
14:15Four points in the opening half.
14:17And we are level in stoppage time.
14:20Leitrava and Croke Power.
14:26We had the chances to win in normal time
14:28and we didn't take them
14:29and Kenny took theirs.
14:30So it brought extra time.
14:37And welcome back to Croke Power
14:38for the first period of extra time.
14:41Lucy take a breather.
14:42OK, Claudia Mac is coming back in.
14:44The management trusted me enough to bring me back on.
14:47We have ten big minutes now.
14:48OK, ready to go.
14:50I'm going to prove it now
14:51and make sure that I have a greater impact on the game.
14:55An opportunity here for Kilkenny
14:58to have gotten the first three scores
15:00inside the opening.
15:01Four minutes of extra time.
15:03Eva Prendergast high into the sky
15:05and right between the uprights.
15:07The first five minutes of that first half,
15:08we were motoring like...
15:10Dangerous ball dropping inside.
15:13Is it set?
15:15I was literally running back to my position
15:17and I didn't really see anyone else running around
15:19so I was like, oh.
15:20The referee had blown the whistle
15:22before the ball went into the net.
15:24Yeah, I looked up and I saw his arms out.
15:26Kilkenny probably feel very aggrieved
15:28that the whistle was blown.
15:29It's a penalty.
15:31And well, this could be a big moment in the game.
15:34It's Eva Prendergast to take the penalty
15:36up against Laura Linan.
15:38A goal could be absolutely crucial in this game.
15:41You have a spot that you're going to pick
15:43and you have to stick with it.
15:45It's hard because you just know it's completely out of your control.
15:48So you're just kind of praying.
15:50As Prendergast lines this one up from the 21.
15:53Picks it, strikes it.
15:56Goalkeeper makes the save.
15:59They're deflated in that moment
16:01when you see the ball coming back.
16:03And well, that could be a huge, huge moment now.
16:07Laura is an incredible shot stopper.
16:09She has no fear.
16:11She doesn't let big moments get to her.
16:13You take a bruise over the goal, I think, any day.
16:16But it's a bit of a relief now, I won't lie.
16:18Rushing onto it here.
16:20Trying to win it is Clodagh McIntyre.
16:21She has it.
16:22McIntyre heading towards goal.
16:24Here's an opportunity.
16:25McIntyre!
16:26Oh, what a goal!
16:27What a super finish!
16:29I just remember the, like, insane cheer.
16:32She picked up possession of it.
16:34Ran onto the 13.
16:36And when you need a finish, what about that?
16:39Master stroke from Dennis Kelly to bring her back on.
16:41It was phenomenal.
16:42It was a rocket.
16:43She was the right person to get the ball in that instance.
16:46And for Tipperary, we were very, very lucky that she did.
16:48There you see Tommy Shefflin just trying to motivate his team.
16:51So there's the change for Kilkenny.
16:54And it's Katie Power is the player coming off.
16:57The captain.
16:58Personally, I had nothing else to give.
17:01Like, my legs were gone.
17:03For me, that day, walking off the field,
17:07like, you'd be looking up in the stands
17:09because you know your family is there.
17:11Here's an opportunity for Grace O'Brien from play.
17:16It's her first from play.
17:18It's her ninth of the game in total.
17:20What an effort.
17:21The referee has decided there is no stoppage time in extra time.
17:25Tipperary advance to the semi-final on a full-time scoreline of Tipperary.
17:30One goal and 22 points.
17:31Kilkenny, 19 points.
17:33You'd be saying, is that the last day you'll wear the jersey?
17:40Like...
17:41That's obviously extremely, you know, sad for me to be thinking about that too, so...
17:56In the other quarter-final, Waterford are up against Outsiders Clare.
18:11We had a job to do and it was do or die.
18:14If we lose, we're going home.
18:15And we know Clare are not an easy team to beat.
18:18Our team is growing, we're progressing, we're becoming stronger.
18:28That's it, it's Piers.
18:29In through and away, Piers!
18:30In at Piers, no!
18:31In at Piers!
18:32I'm telling you now, we've all my ambitions have been in the final, semi-final.
18:38They shouldn't be in our way.
18:40It's July, it's the first weekend of July.
18:42Do not be out of the championship the first weekend of July.
18:58Last year, I decided to smoke Canada and then I got the news that my dad was really sick.
19:12So I made the decision to come home.
19:14I'm glad I did.
19:16He just wasn't well.
19:17We thought it was a vomiting bug.
19:19Then it was and it kept going and it turned out to be cancer.
19:22Yeah, so it was a huge shock.
19:25Because I've been sick, it must have been there shouting on the team.
19:28It's not the same watching the television.
19:30You're missing, I think you're missing at least 60% of it.
19:35They've got Clare coming up now and this is a do-or-die game.
19:39For a parent or even a supporter, you're mighty proud going to see him go to a quarter-final.
19:46My encouragement to all and the rest of them is go out.
19:49Leave everything on the field.
19:50Leave your blood, sweat and tears on the field.
19:52Give it all.
19:53If you make a mistake, you make a mistake.
19:54But give it all you have.
19:56That's all you can do.
19:57Give it all you have.
19:58That's it.
20:00Okay, we're going to Crow Park today for the quarter-final.
20:09Like, my mum and dad made a weekend of it.
20:12Definitely motivates me and it has more so this year than any other year to try and do well for the team and also for them as well.
20:27Right, let's do it for them.
20:29The first goal was a bit unfortunate because it came off my cornerback's back and deflected in.
20:46We wouldn't really panic too much.
20:51You kind of have to just forget about it and drive on.
20:53Back inside to the goal scorer.
20:55On your Lachlan.
20:56There's another one for the tanking.
20:57What a turn up this is.
20:59Could a big surprise be on here at Pro Park?
21:02When the second goal went in, it was like, oh crap.
21:07Keep walking.
21:09Two goals, it's six points.
21:11It's a big score to try and get back.
21:14We just had to go out and back ourselves.
21:17Either pick it up a year or you're going home.
21:19Nanny Fitzgerald has got Waterford's first goal of the game.
21:24Near Rocket.
21:25Slipping it out to the right hand side.
21:27Taking it back.
21:28Rocket with difficulty.
21:29What was it?
21:30Thrown.
21:31It's in the back of the net.
21:34It was nowhere near comfortable because we weren't comfortable at all.
21:37There goes the final whistle from referee Liz Dempsey.
21:40So in the end, Waterford got the job done.
21:43But it wasn't that easy.
21:45Getting to not Ireland's semi-final is great.
21:48It was special, you know, it's a special moment sitting in Crow Park
21:51and you know your parents are there sitting watching you, yeah.
21:56Welcome to the draw for the All-Ireland Senior Camogie semi-finals.
21:59First start we have Cork.
22:00Now who do Cork play?
22:02Waterford.
22:03Remember Waterford lost to Cork in the All-Ireland final two years ago
22:06and it's going to be?
22:07Galway.
22:08Galway playing?
22:09Tipperary.
22:10Good to see you again.
22:11Good to see you again.
22:12Glad to meet you.
22:13I'll do my best.
22:14How do you feel about the instant with this?
22:16I hate them.
22:17You hate it?
22:18Yeah.
22:19I'm just going to stand here and work around you.
22:21Stay there now.
22:22Why don't you like it do you think?
22:23I don't know.
22:24I just don't.
22:25I prefer to just play.
22:26A really tough encounter here last year against Tip.
22:28We only got over them by a point in the end, so.
22:31Well do me, Carrie.
22:32Well done.
22:33Harmless.
22:34Very harmless, yeah.
22:35Easiest one of today.
22:36You see, we know each other now at this tip.
22:38Yeah, yeah.
22:39Brilliant.
22:40The guys are quite enjoyable and I think it kind of shows probably a little bit of the friendship that's, you know, amongst the enemies as well.
22:49How are you feeling yourself physically?
22:50Good.
22:51They won't see this to laughter actually.
22:54I'm in agony, you know.
22:55Cork have joined us.
22:56One second there.
22:57Talk to me about the Cork Team 2025 because is there pressure on in the sense you're going
23:06for three in a row?
23:07Yeah, I suppose there's always pressure.
23:09Being from Cork, people expect you to win.
23:12I've never done like a launch thing before but grand, yeah.
23:17I'm repeating myself quite a bit and my cheeks are shaking from smiling but it's interesting.
23:22This is the toughest I would imagine of the two semi-finals.
23:26They're fantastic girls.
23:27Everyone's put their foot to the wheel and we're just ready and ready for a fight now.
23:32Got a little bit nervous, I'm not going to lie.
23:34I'm coming out of the car but I think it's just the thought of probably meeting everyone.
23:39Thanks very much.
23:40Hopefully we'll be doing another one.
23:41But no, everyone makes you feel at ease then when you're actually in here.
23:43It's just the thoughts of it more than anything.
23:45You wanted coaching from me, hello.
23:47It's the other way around.
23:48Was that from the quarter-final?
23:50In the Warriors?
23:51No, Tarzan training.
23:52Brilliant.
23:53I'll have a draw, bro.
23:55You should see the other one.
23:59The prize is massive.
24:00It's a place in the senior camogie final in Croke Park on the 10th of August.
24:15Galway-Tipperary is a repeat of last year's All-Ireland semi-final and Tipperary narrowly lost out to Galway by a point.
24:20So I'm sure that's the draw they wanted because they'll be gunning for Galway.
24:23Well, Mum.
24:24Good to see you, honey.
24:25How are things?
24:26Good.
24:27Really, definitely.
24:28And your goal is all over the place.
24:29Yeah.
24:30All over the place.
24:31Were you saying it was a fluke?
24:32No, the mileage you'll get out of that for the next six months.
24:33Galway now.
24:34Galway now, I know.
24:35We owe them one from last year.
24:36Like, you'd have a bit more fire in the belly thinking about last year and how we were literally in charge the whole way until the last, like, five minutes probably, wasn't it?
24:48Yeah.
24:49And then the wheels came off.
24:50And last Sunday's game will stand to you because you dug it out when things weren't looking great.
25:09Here's an opportunity.
25:10McIntyre!
25:11Oh, what a goal!
25:12Yeah, and you took it nicely though, the little dummy with the head.
25:15That's what you'd do on.
25:17Yeah, I think.
25:18Yeah, I taught you that.
25:20It's not too often though, someone comes back on and actually does something.
25:23Usually, you know they're playing bad and that's it.
25:26Not that you were playing that bad.
25:28Shut up!
25:29I believe this year, Tipperary are going to do it and you can mark my words here now.
25:36I have a good feeling this year.
25:47Tipperary has been building for the past few years. They've lost six semi-finals in seven seasons. They'll feel their time is now.
25:59In the calendar year, we had beaten them twice.
26:02A goal here and she's beautifully put it in.
26:05And Tipperary are the National League champions for the third time.
26:08It's an unbelievable team. We've played them in the league the last couple of years and they've got the better of us.
26:14And numerous of times, probably should have beaten us in the semi-final last year.
26:17They don't fear us and every right, I guess.
26:19The last two years have been absolutely devastating.
26:32Having lost to Galway last year, you know, this is kind of a perfect opportunity for a little bit of revenge.
26:38You know, to use that hurt as well.
26:49Tipperary and ourselves, I suppose, have built up a really, really big rivalry over the last two or three years.
26:56You know, they've turned us over a few times.
26:58You know yourselves, competition for places now is going to be huge over the next four weeks.
27:03Okay? Huge.
27:05We were probably focused on either getting your jersey or trying to hold on to the jersey, making sure you're on the starting 15.
27:10I might not have the pace I had when I started 13 years ago, but I'm just thankful that Cahill, I suppose, had trusted me to give me another year.
27:18Leading into the semi-final, training was tough.
27:23Quick, cans, we're on, we're on it, move it, yes, move it!
27:2560 seconds!
27:32That's it, step to the ball, drive it on, yes, good, good, good!
27:35Oh, this is a massive test for us.
27:37It's been tip, tip, tip, comes out in the stands.
27:39We quite invested in it.
27:41Every fucking Tipperary player now, when she gets the fucking ball, is hit like that.
27:46For the last three years, our all-earned semi-final has been in Kilkenny.
27:58At roundabout coming into Kilkenny, there's like a statue of bluebells, and the first year going to our semi-final, Grace told us in the car that her mam wanted to call her Daisy Bluebell, and that her mam would be so thrilled if we stopped the roundabout to get a photo of it.
28:14But every year on the way back where I was so depressed and sad that we've never gotten the photos.
28:21After a season of ups and downs, we've reached the semi-finals of the All-Ireland Camogie Championship.
28:29Tip, they need to win today if they need to make progress. They've lost six semi-finals since 2018.
28:35Losing six semi-finals in seven years psychologically can be very, very tough to take.
28:41We had great confidence, I think, coming into it.
28:43We knew we were capable of beating Galway. We believed we were capable of beating Galway.
28:46Everything, ball by ball, every single thing, every challenge, we drive it for each other. You drive it for that jersey. You drive it for the girl inside it. Today we've made that promise, girls.
28:56I've never played with that much tip people in a stadium. That was massive, like it actually meant the world to us.
29:09I'm sure we're going to hear a tip, tip, tip a lot. But, listen, it's up to us to train quite the crowd now.
29:21The semi-finals are there to be won, but it doesn't always work out that way.
29:24And once again, it's collected there by Guivamar. Gives it to Grace, so drive it to Ferrari that'll block on it.
29:31Galway brought a serious intensity.
29:35You know, you didn't even know there was Galway girls there. They were just swarming.
29:40It can be hard hits. It can be getting hands-on. It can be tracking the runs.
29:44It's taken away by Durville O'Higgins from Athen Rye.
29:47It can be dispossessions.
29:49They just came with an energy that we couldn't handle.
29:52Maureen Everston is from centre-half back.
29:55Hooped initially. Now she has to go again against Maureen Dillard.
29:58Like, they were hunting in packs. You know, I remember at times coming out with the ball and there'd be three of them around you.
30:03Snatched up there by Eilish O'Reilly.
30:05Galway are really up for this year's field. And now it's five points to two.
30:10We started to really get in the groove.
30:12Eilish O'Reilly has started so well.
30:14A really impressive start from Galway.
30:15Even though we weren't doing overly poor, we weren't actually performing.
30:19You need a break in play. You need a big hit. You need something massive to shift that momentum.
30:24And now Dennis Kelly has got a real problem because his full-back is down injured and they could ill afford to be without Karine Blair.
30:32Karine went down and we were all a little bit concerned for her.
30:36You know, she seems in a lot of pain then and obviously a hugely important player for Tip.
30:41Then we were like, look, we'll go out and we'll do this for Karine, but still Galway were just, they were coming at us in spades.
30:47And now six points between them.
30:50We need to come to grips with this game and, you know, really get it under control.
30:53It's Karen Kennedy. They need her leadership. They need her scoring ability.
30:57She's got a goal.
31:01That's exactly what they needed.
31:04That goal definitely gave Tip a boost and gave them energy.
31:07You can nearly feel the confidence and the excitement coming back into the Tip players.
31:10Half-time may be going to come too soon for them now.
31:13This three to be taken once again by the Nina-era old player.
31:19And once again, she delivers.
31:21The teams are level for the second time.
31:24It's been a very, very eventful first half.
31:26The referee's calling for the ball.
31:27There is half-time.
31:29And one stage in the game.
31:31Galway were absolutely dominating this match.
31:33By eight points to two they led.
31:35And then Karine Kennedy got a goal.
31:37And the team's going in level.
31:38So there was a huge feeling then that, okay, right, we played terrible and we're still drawn.
31:44The crowd is there.
31:45We just need to get a bit of a momentum start in the second half.
31:51And at that stage, the game can go any way.
32:02Their goal was against the run of play.
32:04And you have to come back and put that right.
32:06Four points in the first half for Carrie Dolan.
32:09Looking for a bright start to the second half.
32:11And that one has gone over the bar.
32:14Good start for Galway.
32:16Real intense contest by Galway and by Tifereri.
32:19And you'd expect nothing less.
32:21There's a real niggle in this game now.
32:23We just, whatever it was, we couldn't get going.
32:25It's Grace O'Brien blocked down again.
32:28I feel like they were striking balls and they were flying over the bar and we were getting blocked down, hooked.
32:32The second half, we had very little to respond with.
32:37Fuck out down through the centre.
32:39Maureen Everson got a stick to it but batted it down inadvertently to Ailish O'Reilly.
32:43Who set it up here for Niamh Malin.
32:45A goal chance. A goal taken.
32:47And Galway gets their first goal of the game.
32:50The referee calling for the ball.
32:55It's all over.
32:57And this first Glenn Dimplek semi-final has been won convincingly by Galway.
33:03They won it by seven points in the end.
33:06And Carl Murray will be leading his team in Croke Park yet again.
33:12We are back in the All-Ireland Final where we set out the start of the year to get it.
33:16You know, that's number one, get to the final. Number two, go and win it.
33:20Plenty to work on but they look a team that don't want to lose another final.
33:25What does it mean to be back in Croke Park now on August the 10th?
33:28Well look, it's where we were last year and where we were bet.
33:31It's where you want to get back to again and we won't make the same mistake twice.
33:33The last two years haven't been bet by a point. In probably games we should have won.
33:40This year it was a different kind of a disappointment.
33:44It's the semi-final heartbreak, Dennis. I think everyone's heartbroken for E at this stage with the moment that you've lost over the last few years.
33:51That semi-final hard.
33:53Like I do believe we have a team that can win in All-Ireland 100%. They're very, very hard things to win.
34:00It's the top of the mountain. If it was easy everyone would do it.
34:03Someday we'll get the photo from Grace's mum and she'll be thrilled and it will be a very joyous occasion. I know it will come.
34:11We didn't get it this year? No, we didn't get it this year.
34:22Galway have booked their place in the All-Ireland Final.
34:26And in the other semi-final Cork play Waterford to see who will join them.
34:31Back in 2023 these two teams contested the final and it was a comprehensive win for Cork.
34:38Waterford Cork got the final two years ago. Waterford would be looking to avenge that.
34:42As soon as the draw came out it was like no one gave us a chance. We were written off Cork during the All-Ireland Final.
34:48Cork have won it. They're going to get three in a row.
34:51Waterford who let's be honest through the short straw.
34:56Cork trying to make it back to yet another All-Ireland Final and they're going for what would be a fifth successive appearance in the decider and a third All-Ireland in a row.
35:04Cork huge favourites coming in.
35:06They are a phenomenal team but I also think they are beatable.
35:11Waterford coming into this as real underdogs. Do you give them any sort of chance heading in?
35:15Yeah, look it's real David and Goliath I suppose.
35:17You'd always have that bit of nervous going into a semi-final. If you don't there's probably something wrong.
35:22So my dad wasn't at the game. He was like I'll meet you in Crowe Park for the final.
35:26And this is why you've been training since October or November. You know, I'm feeling good. Do you know, because we believed in ourselves.
35:34Cork pick up possession again. McCarthy.
35:36I do think one of the strong points is their running game.
35:39Cork in possession. This would be some score if Saoirse McCarthy gets it. What about that?
35:44Superb work along the far sideline and finished it off with a great point.
35:48Back it comes now towards Bess Carton. Looking for another point here. I think she likes that one. Why not? That one over the bar again. This is a brilliant start from Waterford.
36:05We started strong. Our work rate was through the roof.
36:09They'll be pretty pleased with the start that they've made.
36:11Inside the first eight minutes.
36:12And we were trying to counteract Cork's running game with our own running game.
36:17This might open up as a player on the inside. They might be in here.
36:21Best parted. Gold shots. What a world.
36:25Well, they were the underdogs coming in. But they've torn up the script in the early stages.
36:31Cork didn't really play. I think we stopped them from playing to be honest. They didn't get a chance to play.
36:36We knew we could be in the position if we had done what we were asked to do by management and we had performed the way we could.
36:51I wanted to go in a point in front and I think, you know, they're valuable with the way that they've played in that first half.
36:56It wasn't a surprise that we were in the position we were. So it was kind of, you know, get your breath back.
37:00There's still 30 minutes and it's another go again.
37:03Cork came out and performed very, very well in the second half.
37:18They started to just get the run on us.
37:20Goal chance here for Cork. Surely they'll get it this time.
37:24And that is that. Cork heading for another All-Ireland Final appearance.
37:30In the last few minutes, it was like, OK, like, we know we're not going to win, but you have to just keep fighting.
37:37There is the full-time whistle.
37:41Cork coming good in the second half to reach another All-Ireland Final.
37:44There are three in a row bid remains on track.
37:47It's finished Cork 1-21, Waterford 1-11.
37:54You feel like your whole world is coming down.
37:57You've trained so long with these girls and we're not training next week.
38:07Yeah, quite hard to swallow.
38:09Cork are the team at the moment that are probably still the team to beat.
38:22They're an absolute machine, a complete different class.
38:25You know, it mightn't have been our most polished performance, but we still got over the line.
38:28So I suppose a sense of relief.
38:30And now, just, I love this two weeks building up to a final.
38:34There's a huge target on our back and I know Galway will be hurting a lot from last year.
38:39We know what we're going to get when it comes to Galway.
38:42We're going to get everything, everything that they have.
38:44They're going to throw the kitchen sink at us and we're prepared for that.
38:46We're not going to fear them.
38:48Confirm now, All-Ireland Camogie Senior Final, Cork vs. Galway, Sunday, 10th of August.
38:51It's a great pleasure and honour to announce the player of the match in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final of 2013 is the one and only centre-half back from Galway, Therese Maher.
39:05Carlin and Camogie is massive in our family. My auntie is Therese Maher. Probably the most successful in the family.
39:17Won the All-Ireland 2013. That's the All-Ireland we'd remember when we were growing up. You wanted to be just like them.
39:23Cari is the ultimate leader. She is just so dedicated to this group, this county.
39:41Absolutely brilliant captain for the year. She is so focused.
39:44You will see her in Clarenbridge practicing her freeze probably most days of the week.
39:57But yeah, she keeps to herself, keeps her head down.
40:01I do. I like to be on my own down here. That's true. I just like a goal kind of to myself and to practice away, yeah.
40:08For Galway's Shauna Healy, this year's final is extra special after some time out from the game.
40:17This way.
40:19Billy came into our lives 14 months ago and the best day of our lives obviously.
40:23You know, I had to take the year out.
40:25I kind of trained all the way through the pregnancy and whatever kind of in the hope that I'd have a fairly reasonable time.
40:32Yeah. Push. Push.
40:34Good man.
40:37And then I got a phone call from Cahill wondering what was my story.
40:42Go on, push.
40:45So I said, I was game like.
40:48I play as best I can for him and to make him proud and he can look back in a couple of years and you know, think, God, she was all right.
40:56She wasn't always giving out.
40:58Have you tickeys? Have you tickeys?
41:00Yeah.
41:01With the final a few days away, much of the media focuses on Cork's historic quest.
41:07I suppose you're getting ready for the circus, as we call it, in Galway.
41:12They are going all out for this three in a row.
41:15Three in a row is something that they're focused on.
41:17Maeve, the chances begin to go three in a row, what would that mean to Cork?
41:22Look, we're just looking at it as another All-Ireland.
41:24And getting back to Crow Park and getting back to an All-Ireland final was the main goal this year.
41:29They haven't won three in a row since 1973, so that's what we're going for this year.
41:32There was articles and there was a lot of things coming out.
41:35All-Ireland champions, they had done it back to back and then they had mentioned they wanted to go for the three in a row.
41:39Are you ready?
41:41Yeah.
41:42New ball, yeah?
41:44Go, I love the next ball again.
41:45In you go, in you go, early ball, yeah?
41:47It will come down to the last few minutes of the game, you know.
41:50There will be opportunities there for us.
41:52And I suppose, can we learn from the lesson from last year where we didn't take them opportunities?
41:55Goal's been around since 2018, he has been in the All-Irelands when we've won and we've lost.
42:01And you buy into everything, you buy into him, you buy into the management.
42:04You're representing your county, you're representing your family especially.
42:07We know this group is back 12 months on now to right the fucking wrongs.
42:13Don't let your dreams be dreams. Is that okay?
42:15Yes.
42:25You can't be that feeling of putting into Crowe Park. There's kids and people everywhere, there's banners, it's the energy.
42:38Unfortunately, we don't really get the spectators for our sport, so to play in Crowe Park when there's 25, 30,000 people, it's special.
42:45A goal they're coming out of this stage. And there's a big cheer for them.
42:50As well for the Cork team for the field.
42:51There's just something about this Cork set up. I think they've kicked on a gear.
42:57They're unbelievable champions. They do everything really well. If you switch off, they will punish you.
43:06We all have to go in with belief that we're going to beat them, that we can beat them.
43:11Justin Heffern and the referee gets it underway.
43:14Setting it out as far as Hannah Looney. Looney goes down, referee says play on.
43:18In All-Ireland Finals, you can be nervous and sometimes the games can pass you by.
43:24Under a lot of pressure there from Derbal O'Higgins, the cornerback for Galway.
43:29Our whole thing was just work, work, work. Controlled aggression and intensity.
43:33A lot of pressure on in there, but they're coping very well. The Galway defence once again.
43:37Coming out with it eventually as Derbal O'Higgins.
43:39It was a ferocious start, but it's definitely something that we had planned for.
43:43Trying to cause difficulties there for Shawna Healey, but Healey is a wily campaigner.
43:48So things are going well. You have momentum. You're trying to stay focused because it can very, very quickly change.
43:55The penalty was a massive moment in that first half.
44:09And it's going to be Katrina Mackey who will take it in the 10th minute.
44:13It's Mackey. It's saved. Really good piece of goalkeeping.
44:16Once Sarah Healey saved it though, I was like, okay, this could be our day.
44:21And it's Aoife Donoghue leading a march.
44:25Hand-passing it. Nicely taken. Dillon. Moria Dillon cracks it in.
44:30Galway gets the opening goal of this all-out of the final and is scored by Moria Dillon.
44:37Not too many people, I suppose, score goals against Cork.
44:39Yeah, I mean, it gives you a huge boost of momentum.
44:41Galway in front by 1-3 to 4 points.
44:44And Cahill Murray, I think, very, very pleased in there towards Saoirse McCarthy.
44:50Then goes after it. Immediately you see three Galway players.
44:53That's the level of intensity that they're bringing to the match today.
44:56And Cork have simply got to match it.
44:59It's an all-Ireland final day. There's pressure all over the field.
45:02The referee has indicated that there are going to be two minutes added on.
45:05Over.
45:07There was an incident here.
45:09Hannah Looney is the Cork player involved.
45:12Hannah Looney could be in real difficulty.
45:15And the referee has given her a red card.
45:17It's gone from bad to worse for Cork.
45:21It's stoppage time at the end of the first half.
45:23Hannah Looney is sent off.
45:24Cork down to 14.
45:26It's probably just a rush of blood to the head.
45:28It was unlucky.
45:29Cork now plays a huge, huge uphill task.
45:31We were up, what was it, five? Five, I think, at half-time.
45:35Which is a good position to be in an all-Ireland final.
45:42Galway are flying at the moment, but can they sustain that level of intensity?
45:46We had played well in the first half.
45:47We were probably happy with the way things were going.
45:49They're down to 14 players.
45:50They probably just have to absolutely go for it.
45:52Saoirse McCarty takes off, looking to try and get away there from the Galway player who's in there.
45:59If you were watching the second half and you didn't know there was a player sent off, you probably wouldn't even have known.
46:06Cork came back like they always do.
46:08Advantage Galway, four in front, in there towards Laura Hayes and Hayes looks at her handiwork and the player of the year last year has done it again.
46:17It was the most rollercoaster of a second half.
46:20They were just putting on a spectacle of camogie that was like no other.
46:23Once again, Saoirse McCarty trying to make it a three-point game.
46:28Dropping up and over the crossbar.
46:31A fourth for Saoirse McCarty and keeping Cork hopes alive.
46:35They just have players that can kill you in a second.
46:37Heading into stoppage time.
46:39And Cork with 14.
46:40Have a goal chance!
46:41And get it to Orlaka!
46:45They're level!
46:47What a goal!
46:49Oh no.
46:50Here we go.
46:51There will be four minutes additional time.
46:53Get the ball, get the ball.
46:55A lot of play off Cary Dolan I think and it's going to be possession for Galway.
46:59A chance for them and for their captain maybe to win the game.
47:02Her auntie, Therese Maher led Galway back in the 90s to victory.
47:09Can she lead Galway to victory this afternoon?
47:12Out in the sideline 45, 50 yards out.
47:1530,000 people watching you.
47:17Probably the weight of the county on your shoulders.
47:19This is the moment.
47:20If it goes over, this is it like.
47:21I found myself in those situations the last couple of years.
47:26I stood over it like I would and I took it like any other free.
47:30I didn't see it as the winning or losing of a game.
47:33Up into the air, this one goes.
47:35And where's it gone?
47:36It's gone over the bar.
47:37And Galway are in front again.
47:42But does it feel good when it goes over?
47:45Of course it feels good, yeah.
47:47Yeah.
47:48The referee's whistle is down now and they will be champions for 2025.
47:53What an astonishing end to the match.
47:56Galway have beaten Cork.
47:58Oh my gosh, did that just actually happen?
48:01It was amazing.
48:07To every young boy and girl out there with a heart in their hands.
48:16Go after your dream.
48:18Today 39 girls had a dream of winning All-Ireland.
48:23Well today that dream came true.
48:26We play because we enjoy camogie.
48:36It's what we're passionate about.
48:38You can't see, you can't be.
48:39If people could see more camogie, I think it could take off.
48:42Inspire the next generation to go and do the same thing.
48:44That's what you're trying to do.
48:46Champiori!
48:47Champiori!
48:59Champiori!
