00:00French President Emmanuel Macron is hosting Zelensky in Paris. That's happening on Monday.
00:06In your opinion, is the European Union doing enough to support Ukraine?
00:12Because a lot of people are saying that they're just having talks about talks and nothing actually seems to happen.
00:18Well, you know, the real stick on the carrot lies in the White House in the United States, not in Europe, unfortunately,
00:29because that's whom President Putin respects and fears. He fears military might.
00:36Europe, unfortunately, does not possess military might.
00:40It has committed to become a military alliance as well in the future, but it will take, I mean, 10, 15 years
00:49before Europe has its own sovereign or autonomous military capacity.
00:55At the moment, we Europeans depend on Americans, on the United States military might, which is respected by Putin.
01:06But, I mean, at the same time, you know, Europeans, what they can do is in terms of, I mean, provide economic financial support.
01:14And that's what Europe does. I mean, we Europeans are the biggest, I mean, humanitarian development, financial supporters of Ukraine.
01:25EU also applies strict sanctions, which can still be and should be increased as a burden on Russian economy.
01:34And at the same time, you know, equally, EU has started negotiations, which will end with the accession and membership of Ukraine in the EU,
01:45which, from my point of view, EU should also expedite and get Ukraine closer to the membership as soon as possible.
