00:00Greg, do you do you buy into the argument that the the recent wins, the electoral wins that were clocked up by the Democrats last week were somehow boosted by this ongoing shutdown as it was then?
00:14Oh, absolutely, Tom. I mean, it's it's no coincidence that they kept the shutdown going right through that election day.
00:21And it definitely had an effect in Virginia, where, as Amanda said, there are a lot of federal workers.
00:27And so, you know, I think I don't think the Republicans had a great chance in Virginia anyway, but she surely won by a bigger margin than we expected.
00:36And I thought it's pretty ironic. I agree with Amanda that when people start actually looking at the details, they'll they'll blame the Democrats in this case,
00:45because on the surface, you know, they read the headlines and they say they see government shutdown and the Republicans control the White House, the Senate and Congress.
00:54And so the immediate perception is that there's some dysfunction in Republican controlled Washington.
01:01But when they look in the details and see who really drove this process in the Democrat Party, which, again, is the progressive left wing.
01:08And as well as the fact that, you know, you need 60 votes in the Senate to pass something.
01:14So it was really the Democrats that shut the country down.
01:17Ironically, they claimed it was for the extension of these temporary covid subsidies for Obamacare.
01:23But what they were trying to do really was provide Obamacare or free medical care for illegal migrants.
01:30And that and yet they they shut down food stamps.
01:34So they're starving people to give free health care to illegal migrants.
01:38It doesn't sell well when you really look at the details.
