00:00Who does the U.S. public blame for that long, historically long shutdown?
00:06Tom, I'm not sure. I think the polls are kind of split on it.
00:10And I don't think anybody really wins with a shutdown.
00:13And of course, people on the left are going to blame Republicans.
00:17But I do think if you look through a lot of the noise, this was definitely the Chuck Schumer shutdown.
00:24And, you know, the Democrats had every opportunity to vote for the so-called continuing resolution several times and over the last 40 days.
00:33And they finally voted for it yesterday. And basically, it's the same terms that were offered to them 40 days ago.
00:41And so I think it's ultimately a loser for the Democrats. I don't think mainstream Democrats were were for it.
00:48I don't think I think it was really inspired by some of the, you know, the radical fringe.
00:53And that's why the radical fringe, you know, the progressive left wing of the Democrat Party is so disappointed and annoyed with with Chuck Schumer,
01:02even though he he voted against the continuing resolution last night.
01:06So I do think ultimately the Republicans will look better.
01:10But right now, I think the public perception is probably split.
