00:06Well, I think the proof will ultimately be in what the rhetoric turns out to be.

00:22You literally did not achieve anything in holding the government closed, shut down, other than create a dangerous situation for people potentially in the skies.
00:34You created a situation that made a lot of people uneasy, about 42 million Americans going without SNAP food benefits for the needy and the poor.
00:44So what did you accomplish?
00:46You set out to do this in the name of Obamacare health provisions and to extend those tax subsidies.
00:52You didn't get anything on that in this bill.
00:56So really, what did you accomplish?
00:58So the Democrats have egg on their face, I think.
01:01But if you look at the results of last Tuesday's elections, they certainly swept in states like Virginia, which is obviously home to a lot of federal employees, over 300,000 federal employees.
01:14So in Virginia, in New Jersey, they did win.
01:19And so if you look at election results during that time, they did capture the audiences and the independents.
01:27But what will be interesting really to see is ultimately who do the Americans blame for the shutdown.
01:36And I think if you look at what the Republicans have said, this is a continuing resolution.
01:40We were just trying to get a bill to open up the government.
01:43We weren't doing anything fancy in this.
01:45You'd supported this before, but you didn't support it this time.
01:49I think the real challenge here is going to be for the Democrats and where they go from here, because now they are very divided.
01:56They're very upset with Chuck Schumer.
01:58They want him out.
01:59They're probably coming for Hakeem Jeffries, the House Minority Leader, next.
02:03And I think someone like AOC, her star rises very high during something like this.
02:09And if they're asking you to ask him, I think the answer is because of these ideas.
