00:00Police have expanded their investigation into a fatal stabbing in Bega with a search of nearby
00:07wetlands as detectives continue to hunt the suspects. A 43-year-old man was found with
00:14stab wounds in a park on East Street just after 2 a.m. on the 6th of October and died, despite
00:21efforts by paramedics. A second man, aged 45, was also found injured and later released from
00:29hospital. Officers combed the Glebe wetlands with SES crews for a small, double-edged dagger believed
00:36to have been discarded after the attack. The weapon we are looking for is believed to be a small,
00:43double-edged dagger. We urge anybody with information to come forward. They can do so
00:52anonymously by either contacting Bega Police Direct or by contacting Crime Stoppers on
00:571800 333 000. I just reassure the community that at this stage there's no information to suggest
01:04that the wider community is at risk in relation to this. It's true there has been a house fire
01:10in the vicinity of where the homicide occurred and we certainly haven't ruled that out as being
01:15related but at this stage there's nothing to suggest that the wider or broader community is at any risk.
01:27I just reassure the community that I think is, I'm going to be trying to do so. I'm going to say,
01:31see you in the next stage there's not going to be a single thing that I'm going to do.
01:34I'm going to say that you are going to be able to make a single thing.
01:38And this is a very common thing that I'm going to do. I'm going to say it's not going to be a single thing.
