00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales James weather update for Friday.
00:04We've got a lot going on in the north-east corner today.
00:07This year is some patchy light rain, showers and summer storms embedded in that this afternoon.
00:11But this one here is more like widespread steady rain that may add up to a bit,
00:15particularly if you get some storms in through there.
00:17Otherwise, things are looking fairly clear.
00:19We do have a change that is working its way up the coast that is increasing this activity
00:24we're getting in south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales.
00:27So there is some cooler air that is in behind that.
00:29So by the end of Friday, here is the activity for today in that north-east corner.
00:33It could deliver some serious falls if you're directly underneath a thunderstorm.
00:37Otherwise, a widespread rain is going to do it for you.
00:39Low pressure moves into here by the end of today.
00:42Let's watch the track of that one and the track of this one.
00:45So two very different systems that are in through here.
00:48Firstly, this southern system that is moving through.
00:50There it is by the end of that.
00:51So we'll see that over the south-eastern parts of New South Wales as we go through Saturday.
00:55We've got some moisture feeding into here, but again, this is confined to the north-east
01:00corner in through here and in the centre parts as well.
01:03So eastern parts of New South Wales are getting the wet weather for Saturday.
01:06Into Sunday, we've got that in that north-eastern corner once again.
01:09It's fairly dry for the rest of it there, but most of the activity is in Queensland
01:13and just over the border on the ranges by Monday.
01:16All of that has contracted north, so we are now in the clear.
01:19We've got this next system that is moving across the south-east.
01:23It's the south-east.
01:24It's mainly the coast.
01:25It really dissipates as it heads inland, so I wouldn't expect some serious falls from
01:29that at all.
01:29So there's Monday into Tuesday.
01:31Next week, we're fairly quiet here over New South Wales.
01:34We've got just a little bit of activity in the exposed parts of the south-east, so we're
01:38really not going to see much in through here.
01:40There is Tuesday into Wednesday and into Thursday.
01:43That's when the next trough starts to develop.
01:46So it's later Thursday and on Friday that we're going to be seeing that in the ranges
01:51and coastal areas here, mainly centre and into the north.
01:55So let's see what all of that might add up to.
01:57Serious falls in the north-east, potentially 100 to 150, 75 to 100 millimetres.
02:02If you're under a storm in through here, it can bring even heavier falls.
02:06So it's that north-east corner that sees most of that wet weather.
02:10It's Friday, Sunday, Sunday, and then again at the end of next week.
02:13If you're in the south-east corner, it's not delivering very much, and as those systems
02:17cross in through here, it's hardly anything at all.
02:20So nothing significant if you are anywhere west of the ranges over the course of the
02:24next week.
02:25In Sydney, what to expect.
02:26We've had the trough and cold front move past.
02:29So we're 23 today, 25 tomorrow.
02:31Showers developing later, and we'll see that in the early hours of Sunday before it turns
02:36sunny.
02:36Now Sunday, temperatures are jumping up, top of 32 in the afternoon.
02:40So we've got that sunshine increasing, and temperatures increasing.
02:44It's here for one day.
02:45Temperatures reduce again as we go into Monday.
02:48So we're mild and slowly warming as we move through Wednesday.
02:51Lots of sunshine through this entire stretch there.
02:54It changes late Thursday and into Friday, and there'll be some cold air with that one
02:58as well.
02:58As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
