00:00Hello and welcome to this Victorian Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04We have got clearing skies is the trend for today before the next weather system comes in.
00:09So we had cloud all across here that will gradually clear eastwards to sunshine.
00:13We've got the remains of that patchy light rain.
00:16It's barely reaching the ground and that clears out.
00:18The next weather system to kick off will come into the western part during the late afternoon and evening tonight.
00:23So that's what this looks like here.
00:25We've got a low pressure system that is driving this.
00:27It has lost its connection to tropical moisture so it doesn't bring anything hugely significant with it.
00:32But the low tracking through will produce some wet weather.
00:35So showers and storms kick off late afternoon into the evening in the western parts of Victoria,
00:40slowly spreading eastwards, otherwise the rest are looking dry.
00:43Have a look at Saturday.
00:44That burst moves through Melbourne and surrounds in the early hours of the morning and then it clears out.
00:50There may be a ring of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly about the rangers in through there.
00:55I wouldn't expect too much activity from that one.
00:57The majority of the state looks dry by Saturday afternoon.
01:00So that's Saturday.
01:01Now let's look to our west.
01:03As we go into Sunday, the next cold front comes through.
01:05These do not have a connection to tropical moisture.
01:08There's so much happening to our north, but we're not connected.
01:10So we're seeing that hit the coast and then peter out as it heads inland.
01:14It reaches the rangers and peters out as it moves to the other side.
01:17So 5 to 10 millimetres at best from that one coming through on Sunday.
01:21Into Monday, there is a burst of cold air.
01:23So do be prepared for that to come through.
01:26We're looking at another little burst of wet weather that comes through.
01:28Now, as we do Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week, there's not a lot of wet weather,
01:35but we are in an onshore airflow.
01:36So it's a southwesterly wind.
01:38It's not overly cold unless you're right near the coast until Thursday.
01:43So Monday, yes, it's chilly.
01:44And then Thursday again is when the next burst of cold air comes through.
01:47So Monday, Thursday and Friday are the days.
01:49In terms of wet weather, it's mainly on Monday.
01:52And then there's just this little bit that comes in day after day that really doesn't add up to very much.
01:57So by Friday, that is all over.
01:59The next high pressure system is on its way in.
02:02What might that add up to?
02:03It's mainly this Friday into Saturday, then Sunday into Monday that comes through.
02:0715 to 25 at best, 10 to 15 here.
02:10But if you are under one of the storms that passes through, then yes, you would get a heavier fall.
02:14What does all of this mean for Melbourne?
02:17On Friday, lovely clear skies during the day.
02:19Not as warm as yesterday as we are in a light southerly wind.
02:23But that should be quite pleasant.
02:24Headed to Saturday, the burst of showers is early.
02:27In fact, it's pre-dawn pretty much.
02:29All clear by 7 a.m.
02:30Then the day itself turns to sunshine.
02:33We move to about the 2021.
02:35So on Saturday, dry during the day after those early showers before the sun actually comes up.
02:40So early burst on Saturday, dry day.
02:43On Sunday, it's opposite.
02:44The showers increase as the day goes on.
02:47Mostly dry in the morning, then increasing in the afternoon and evening.
02:51So we're back down to 15 for Monday.
02:53Yes, it's another chilly burst coming through with showers passing through.
02:57Generally dry as we go through Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
03:01But look at our temperatures.
03:02It warms up here.
03:03If you can call the low 20s warm.
03:05We've got that Tuesday into Wednesday.
03:06And then back down to colder air to finish off the week.
03:09As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the left.
