00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland James Weather Update for Friday.
00:03We've got a lot going on over the next couple of days.
00:06We've got the remains from yesterday and it is building up during the day.
00:09This is widespread areas of rain with embedded showers and thunderstorms.
00:14If you're under a storm, it will bring a heavy fall.
00:17So let's have a look day by day what to expect in through here.
00:19Most of the activity today is in that southeast corner
00:22and it could bring some serious, some significant totals in through there.
00:26What we're looking at is a burst of moisture coming in from the Pacific Ocean
00:30and also from our north and another one that's coming in from the west.
00:33So let's watch this track through.
00:35The trough today is running in through here.
00:36We've got another one that is off the coast that is helping that wet weather
00:39really kick off during the afternoon and evening.
00:42So there's Friday.
00:43Let's now have a look at Saturday.
00:45The trough is running in through here.
00:47We've got our extra feet of moisture.
00:48So it's a big long band that runs down into the southeast there.
00:52So that is Saturday.
00:53Now let's have a look at Sunday.
00:54It increases even further, the potential for big heavy falls as this moves through.
00:59Now there is the trough and has been fairly stagnant across this period here,
01:02but it will get a move on on Monday, which is when all of this contracts northwards.
01:07So the trough moves away on Monday and so does the wet weather.
01:10By Tuesday it's just up in the far north there.
01:13So Friday, Saturday, Sunday, that's when we're seeing it.
01:15It clears out on Monday.
01:17Into next week, things are looking fairly benign.
01:19It's just up in the north there, a bit of coastal activity.
01:21That comes back later in the week on Thursday and Friday as the next trough kicks off.
01:27This one doesn't seem to have this big feed of moisture, so it's more of a contained system.
01:32And by contained, I mean to the southeast corner in through here.
01:35What might that add up to?
01:36Some big falls.
01:37So we've got our band for Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
01:40This is potentially 75 to 100 millimetres.
01:42And if you get a thunderstorm or two or three or five, there'll be even heavier falls than that in through there.
01:48But this is the band that's most likely to track through in through here.
01:52Hardly any up there.
01:53Hardly any right at the coast.
01:55It's right in the middle into the southeast.
01:57So let's have a look for Brisbane.
01:58What do we expect?
01:59We've got our cooler conditions today because it is fairly steady rain that is moving through.
02:03The risk of a thunderstorm.
02:05Head into Saturday.
02:06We'll get a break during the morning in through here, so temperatures rise again.
02:10Then the risk of storms and showers kick in.
02:12So that's a Saturday afternoon and evening thing.
02:15As we go into Sunday, we're looking at, like Friday, there is rain at times, so fairly steady activity.
02:21The risk of thunderstorms too.
02:23We could get some decent falls out of this, but by Monday it is all gone.
02:27Temperatures shoot up.
02:28Then we're milder for the rest of the week with that next burst of wet weather coming in later Thursday into Friday.
02:34As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
