00:00Why are Europeans hesitant to book their winter holidays?

00:08If you haven't used up all your annual leave yet, you're not the only one.

00:13Many Europeans are holding off on jetting away for Christmas,

00:17even though nearly half still have at least an entire week of holidays left to enjoy.

00:23Well, the main reason is it's too expensive.

00:26New research on 20,000 Europeans shows that 23% need more time to save up and plan their budget.

00:35The highest share of such responses came from Serbia, followed by Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Ireland.

00:42As part of their budgeting, what are Europeans cutting back on?

00:47Around 40% are spending less on clothing, dining out less or skipping luxuries,

00:53while 32% are avoiding buying new tech gadgets and 25% won't upgrade their home decor.

01:01Others are just waiting for the perfect deal.

01:04At the same time, 12% of consumers say they simply can't find any free time outside of work and home life.

01:13For the lucky ones who will be taking some leave,

01:16the number one desire is to travel to a new dream destination,

01:20followed by 10% who want to attend a live show

01:24and 9% who plan to enjoy outdoor activities or Christmas markets.
