00:00In the heart of Slovakia, in a region with a long-standing tradition of metallurgy and industrial production,
00:20there is a company specializing in the manufacture of top-quality refractory materials, Giaromat Kalinovo.
00:28The entire production process begins here at the deposit, where a precious raw material is extracted, refractory clay.
00:36This clay is the fundamental building block of our products, renowned for its high resistance to extreme temperatures.
00:47After extraction, the clay is thoroughly crushed and ground into a fine powder.
00:53It then enters the mixing process with other additives to create a precisely defined molding mixture, the foundation for Shamot and other refractory products.
01:06In the halls, the products are pressed into the desired shapes.
01:10This produces durable semi-finished products that meet the demanding technical requirements of the metallurgical, glass and energy industries.
01:20To achieve their final properties, these products must be fired in kilns at temperatures exceeding 1400 degrees Celsius.
01:38This process gives them the required strength, density and heat resistance.
01:53Refractory products are used in the steel production process at the Podbrezova Ironworks, serving as linings in melting units, heating and annealing furnaces, where they play a key role in steel production and the manufacturing of seamless steel pipes.
02:06Thanks to refractory materials, thermal stability, long service life and precision of technological processes are ensured, which positively affects the quality of the final products of the ironworks themselves.
02:19This confirms the correctness of the strategic decision to integrate Giaromat into the GP Group, a decision that today brings synergistic benefits in the areas of technology, production efficiency and cost optimization.
02:32However, this interconnected model continues even after the refractory linings themselves reach the end of their service life.
02:42The ceramic linings and refractory materials used in our furnaces do not end up as waste.
02:48In cooperation with our subsidiary Giaromat, we recycle them and reuse them in the production of new refractory products.
02:55In this way, we close the material cycle, conserve primary raw materials and energy and at the same time extend the lifespan of materials that have already been used.
03:05This is a concrete example of responsible and modern industry, a practice with a direct impact on reducing the environmental footprint.
