00:00Here we go, drop the gate!
00:08Roxen, primeiro one to the corner, he goes wide, Anderson comes across, gets knocked sideways,
00:14just when it looked like he was going to get second, he loses a couple of spots,
00:18Cooper finds himself in second, and he sets sail on the 32 after Roxen,
00:24and Jorge Zaragoza gets another great start on the Stark,
00:28he's running in third on the 99.
00:30No, no, no, no, Ralph, Deacon is third now.
00:33Oh, boy, look at, nope, nope, yeah, you're right, it is Deacon, he's up to third.
00:39How about that, that's the start he needed, Jeff.
00:41Exactly, my prediction was if he starts in the top five, he can work his way into the top three
00:49and have a chance at playing a role in how this final race turns out.
00:55There he is, the Stark runs behind him,
00:58now, Anderson gets around the Stark, one rider down to the right side of the finish line jump.
01:05That, I believe it was Tixier.
01:06Oh, there they are, it's the 98 and the 911.
01:08Tixier.
01:09Tixier and Politelli.
01:12And Freezy did not make the start, Ralph.
01:14No, that was the start that was out, you were pointing.
01:16And here comes Hayden right there, there's Anderson, Anderson getting the start that he needed, too.
01:23Let's take a look at this start here, opening lap.
01:27See, is that Anderson?
01:28Oh, on the left side of your screen, there's the guys going down.
01:31Yeah, Tixier and Politelli getting together through the whoops section.
01:36We started the night talking about the whoops.
01:38They're going to be difficult.
01:39The first lap here in the final race of the night, two riders fall victim.
01:46Oh, and I'm really looking at, these are 450s, and their bikes are really laboring to get through there.
01:51Craig going around the outside, trying to go around the outside of Matt Moss.
01:57Moss on the 102, Craig on the 28.
02:01Simonson right there.
02:04Simonson on the Rick Ware bike, the 88.
02:08He's moved up.
02:09That's fifth, sixth, and seventh right there.
02:11Then I'm racing, Quadlock Honda racing and Arby's Rick Ware racing.
02:14There he goes.
02:16Nice move there.
02:17Gets around him, coming out of the corner.
02:19And Simonson moves up a spot.
02:22That will put him up to seventh.
02:24And the question is, also, where's Joey Savace?
02:28He's back in tenth.
02:29Here's Moss on that 102 as we take a look at how that played out.
02:32Craig was way too optimistic that he was going to go around the outside of the veteran, Matt Moss.
02:38He knows how to bang bars and protect his position.
02:44Matt Moss has been at this game for a long time.
02:47And here's Deegan trying to catch up to the backside of Cooper.
02:52Meanwhile, Ken Roxen, as we look at how they run right now in the points,
02:56Roxen would win it with a perfect night, taking all 45 points available.
03:03He can hang on for his third win of the night.
03:05So Cooper is a rider that rides from being perfect.
03:10He's very smooth, very still on the bike, makes very little mistakes.
03:16Deegan, on the other hand, he's a rider that kind of hangs it out.
03:19The problem is right now, with the track being the way that it is, it makes it more difficult to ride that aggressive.
03:28It makes it difficult to override the track.
03:31You can end up making mistakes.
03:33And right now, it looks like Cooper has pulled out just a little bit, probably close to four seconds over Hayden Deegan.
03:40Looking at the lap times, last time around, Roxen was your fastest, 53-8, then a 54-1, and Deegan a 55-2.
03:49So he slipped off the back just a little bit.
03:51Jeff, look at the point standings, how they run at the bottom of the screen here.
03:54Not only is Hayden Deegan looking at getting on the podium for the first time in a 4-50, but he can finish third overall here tonight on his 4-50 debut.
04:03Yeah, it's great.
04:04That is tremendous.
04:05Yeah, yeah.
04:05And it's all going to depend on Christian Craig, who currently runs fifth behind Jason Anderson.
04:13And Craig can pick up a point, tie it up.
04:16So it's super close at this point.
04:19Getting close to the halfway.
04:20Unless your name's Ken Roxen.
04:21Yeah, right.
04:22Getting close to the halfway point here.
04:23Oh, hang on, Kenny.
04:25Man, that thing got loose coming through there.
04:28That might have been the only time that I've seen him get out of shape all night long.
04:31Pretty much.
04:32Right.
04:34Over the finish line, jump, and Roxen's on to another one.
04:38Here's that fight between Cooper and Deegan.
04:42Take a look right here, skimming through the whoops, and then whoop, it starts to slide a little bit.
04:47Luckily, he was at the end of the whoop section.
04:49A little left, a little right, and then boom, he popped over the last whoop.
04:52No harm, no foul.
04:54He's so far ahead of the bike, Jeff, that it starts to move behind him.
04:58He's already correcting before it gets too far out.
05:01Yeah, and to put it into perspective, Ken Roxen turned to 53.3.
05:06I think that was faster than his super pole lap.
05:09I think so.
05:09Or right about there.
05:11Yeah, I know.
05:11I think it was.
05:11And we're at the end of the night.
05:13The track's slippery.
05:14The whoops are nasty.
05:15See him go through.
05:16He's sick.
05:16He's out of energy.
05:18Yeah.
05:18Nothing seems to faze Ken Roxen here tonight.
05:21Oh, boy.
05:21Oh, look at Cooper.
05:22He's decided to jump through the whoops.
05:25Meanwhile, Hagen blitzing through.
05:28Anderson taking the same approach.
05:30And then Craig right there for Craig needs to find a way here in the last five laps to close up on the back of Anderson.
05:41If he makes that pass, that's probably going to put Craig on the podium.
05:45If he doesn't, Hayden Deegan on the podium his first 450.
05:52It'll be unbelievable.
05:56It's been the big talk of the preseason of the FIM World Supercross Championship.
06:00Hayden Deegan making that debut in the 450 here with us.
06:04And, boy, has he delivered here tonight.
06:07And the storyline leaving Buenos Aires is going to be all about Hayden Deegan as well.
06:13And you've got to wonder, without that technical issue about Gatepick, which dropped him from seventh Gatepick to last,
06:21I mean, that changed the entire night.
06:24Oh, boy.
06:24Oh, yeah.
06:25Hang on.
06:29But overall, I mean, you see the way that he's just throwing the bike sideways.
06:35He's basically blowing out every berm on the track, you know, in these races.
06:42But he rides this 450 a lot like he rode a 250.
06:48He just has more horsepower.
06:50Jeff, you're a father.
06:53Your son Jagger just turned 18 this week, so he's only a year younger than Hayden is.
06:59You know Brian Deegan very well.
07:01You've raced with him.
07:02You've hung out with him for years.
07:04You grew up with him.
07:05What do you think Brian says to Hayden after a night like this as a father looking forward?
07:11What would you say to Jagger?
07:12No, I would say that, I mean, I would say I'm really proud of you.
07:16I think that you've rode a great race.
07:18We still have a couple more laps here before we get to the finish, and he needs to execute those laps.
07:23Not make any mistakes, right?
07:25Crash your wubs, hurt yourself.
07:27But overall, a great way to join world supercross here, ride with some of the most talented supercross racers on the planet,
07:36and get some experience on that 450, and then go back and go, okay, what could we have done better?
07:41Yeah, great ride.
07:45And Ken Rockson has got to be thrilled with his performance and everything that was stacked against him coming into the night.
07:52So down on his physical power with the stomach virus.
07:58Yeah, take a look at the lap times, 54.4.
08:01Yeah, it's a second off of his fast time.
08:03He's still a second faster than Justin Cooper.
08:06Craig has got to get one more spot, I think, Jeff, to take third away from Hayden Deegan on the podium, if he can pull it off.
08:18Christian has got to get around Jason Anderson.
08:21Yeah, and he's five seconds behind Anderson, roughly, four or five seconds.
08:25He was the second faster than him last time around, close to a second.
08:30So he's picking up time.
08:32But he's running out of laps.
08:33He's just not enough.
08:36To really make a difference.
08:46Yeah, you see the gap right there.
08:48I mean, Jason Anderson's already out of our shot.
08:52And Jeff, Anderson running the whole season, coming in here and looking at a fourth place finish here in this main event, getting some good points.
09:01He's going to be a tough guy to beat for this championship this year.
09:04Yeah, essentially because Roxy Cooper Deegan, wild cards at this point.
09:10So when you look at, okay, the riders that are scheduled to ride the entire championship, Anderson, Craig, are two of the favorites.
09:17And Savace, who is always consistent in this SX-1 division, having a ninth right now, really off the pace, or at least as far as his running position,
09:28Joey's certainly not going to be happy with this final race of the night.
09:33Ken Rockson won this championship in 2022, 2023.
09:37He was second to Eli Tomac last year in 2024.
09:45And he is definitely going to leave here as the points leader as we come down to the final couple of laps here in Buenos Aires.
09:51See, those whoops are so tough right now, but he only has to go through one more time.
09:57So last lap yet?
09:58Yeah, final lap.
09:59But he's not backing off at all either, is he?
10:02No.
10:02And he's still charging.
10:04I mean, he's 10.9 seconds out front.
10:07And this is a guy that was worried about his health and his physical condition of, will I even be able to ride today?
10:16And he has found a way to go out and dominate round one of this World Supercross championship.
10:24Zaragoza there had that great start.
10:26He has really slid back to 14th right now.
10:30Definitely not what he was hoping for.
10:33Flashes of brilliance for the Stark here tonight, but overall some frustrations, but good building, good building for them.
10:41On the flip side, Rockson's been the man.
10:42Here he comes, Ken Rockson on his way to his fourth overall victory in World Supercross competition and his 12th race win as Ken Rockson lights the candles here in Buenos Aires with the win in round number one of the 2025 championship in the Buenos Aires City GP.
11:03All the fellas, and look, Jeff, he wants to make a victory lap.
11:07Do you see that?
11:08Oh, yeah.
11:09So I'm going again.
11:09I want to salute the fans.
11:11Yeah, yeah, exactly.
11:13I mean, he's probably going, I can't believe I just swept the night.
11:16And Hayden Deegan finishes third.
11:20He should end up third in the overall in his 450 debut as Anderson holds off Craig for fourth and fifth.
11:30What a night for Hayden Deegan as well as Ken Rockson begins the celebration.
11:37Yeah, just riding around, acknowledging all of the amazing fans here in Buenos Aires.
11:43I wasn't able to make it over to the pit area today, but I assumed that it was a complete madhouse.
11:49Everywhere you went, but in front of Ken Rockson's pit would have been stacked.
11:53Oh, yeah.
11:54Here's the confirmation on the points.
11:55Rockson 45, maxes it out just like Max Anstey did earlier tonight in SX2.
12:0245 points to take as he wins all three races tonight.
12:06Justin Cooper is second, and then Hayden Deegan behind him in third.
12:12And look, Jeff, nobody in the fans leaving it all.
12:14No, they're going to see that final podium.
12:17Yeah, yeah.
12:18Yep.
