00:00CBS Evening News anchor John Dickerson says he's leaving the network at the end of the year.

00:04He announced the move in a social media post Monday as he expressed gratitude toward viewers

00:09and the honor of being part of the network's history.

00:12Sources close to Dickerson tell the New York Times Dickerson's decision was his own.

00:19One name on CBS News editor-in-chief Barry Weiss's reported radar, Fox News anchor Brett Baer.

00:25But he seemingly shut down that idea in an interview with Meghan McCain this week.

00:31I'm flattered by all the press and everything like that, but I'm in a multi-year contract with Fox.

00:36So I don't know where everything's going.

00:39I'm signed on to Fox, very happy at Fox.

00:42And, you know, we'll see what happens at the end of that.

00:46Dickerson's announcement comes as Weiss is looking to shake up coverage.

00:50Some of the network's talent may soon be on the chopping block, as reported by the New York Post.

00:54Among those names, 60 Minutes' Scott Pelley, correspondent Bill Whitaker, and CBS Morning's co-host Gail King.

01:02Pelley notably criticized CBS, then-parent company Paramount,

01:05after it agreed to a $16 million settlement with President Trump over a lawsuit

01:10accusing the network of deceptively editing an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris last year.

01:16Whitaker was the journalist who conducted the interview of Harris.

01:19King's high salary is reportedly the issue that may lead to her potential ousting, according to the Post.

01:26Weiss is also reportedly seeking to bring back CBS News investigative correspondent Catherine Herridge,

01:32who previously clashed with the network over her coverage of Hunter Biden's laptop.

01:37The new boss also reportedly favors keeping 60 Minutes correspondent Leslie Stahl,

01:42who is rumored to be mulling retirement at the age of 83.

01:45A source familiar with the situation tells the Post, big changes are coming to CBS.
