00:03CNN, MSNOW, and Politico will be back in court tomorrow trying to get their reporters back
00:08inside the White House. The three outlets are suing the Trump administration after their
00:12credentials were revoked over the weekend. They're asking a federal judge for a temporary
00:17restraining order that would restore their access while the case plays out. The outlets say the
00:22White House took away their credentials because President Trump objected to their reporting,
00:26and they argue that violates the First Amendment and their due process rights.
00:31Vice President J.D. Vance says the White House isn't stopping any of them from reporting.
00:36It's taking away what he calls special access. So he's not banning media outlets. What he's doing
00:42is saying we're not going to give you special access to the White House if you engage in what
00:46is effectively propaganda. We have to remember those three outlets account about 92 percent of
00:51the stories that they have on the president of the United States on the administration are negative.
00:55Well, they can still report on the Trump White House. They can still get the public reports.
00:59They can still, of course, talk to people in the administration and outside the administration.
01:03What the president has said is we're not going to give you special access inside the White House.
01:07Trump himself called it a ban when he announced it Friday. He says the three outlets report what he
01:12calls fake news. The White House says access is a privilege, not a right. The outlets say the White
01:19House revoked their credentials, quote, because it objected to our reporting. Their reporters have been
01:24working from outside the White House complex since this weekend. CNN was also removed from its turn
01:30in the TV pool Monday. The Trump administration has until today to respond to the lawsuit. Then
01:36tomorrow afternoon, U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly will hold a hearing on the outlet's request to
01:42get their access restored. Kelly is a Trump appointee, and he's handled a White House press pass fight
01:48before. In 2018, he ordered the Trump White House to restore CNN reporter Jim Acosta's credentials
01:54after finding he had not been given proper due process.
