00:00What is it? We're in the middle of nowhere.
00:05We're driving to the end of the world.
00:12Look at this place. It's a paradise.
00:16I've never seen anything like it.
00:17It doesn't look real, does it?
00:21I've never in my life been somewhere that's remote.
00:24Yeah, this is amazing.
00:27I feel like I'm in Jurassic Park.
00:29Wow.
00:31We are going into some spicy territory.
00:34Raw.
00:35This city is massive.
00:39Doug, what is that?
00:40We're almost at breaking point.
00:43There are vultures circling us.
00:45Our relationship is just going to get stronger.
00:49Lucky to have experienced this.
00:51It's cemented our bond even more.
00:53It feels like a proper step into the jungle.
00:59Where the shores of Mexico meet the Caribbean Sea.
01:15A sacred island of the Maya.
01:17And a pilgrimage site for their goddess of the moon and fertility.
01:23Ischel.
01:26Isla Mujeres.
01:28The island of women.
01:30The most easterly point of Mexico.
01:33Just 15 kilometres from the tourist hub of Cancun.
01:36Its waters.
01:38All hues of blue.
01:40Brimming with marine life.
01:46Look at this.
01:47The crystal clear water.
01:49Yeah.
01:50I could get used to this.
01:52Isn't it beautiful here?
01:53It is gorgeous.
01:54This looks a little bit like the Isle of Wight, doesn't it?
01:57Once believed to be a refuge for pirates.
02:01Today, this sliver of limestone is where the race begins.
02:06This is outrageously hot.
02:09This is wonderful.
02:11It's all nice being in the sun, but figuring out where you're going to is the main thing.
02:15Don't worry about where we're going right now.
02:16I reckon just take your top off and enjoy it.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Voyaging towards the start line, broadcaster Roman Kemp and older sister Harley Moon.
02:25Me and Roman grew up in the same house, but we've got some slightly different traits.
02:31Harley was always the one going out, getting in trouble. I was more boring.
02:36There is something quite scary about not knowing where you're going.
02:39The thing is, about backpacking, you kind of do have to go with the flow a little bit.
02:45Okay, trying to relax.
02:46That's the spirit.
02:49Roman's going to be practical.
02:51Yeah.
02:52And the planning and the budgeting.
02:54I don't know what I'll bring to the party.
02:55You're in charge of fun.
02:57Cups and ice.
02:59Cups and ice.
03:01We've got that, like, really conventional family thing going on where you call each other when you need stuff.
03:07Yeah.
03:09I don't know what it's like to hang out with her.
03:12You've never invited me to the pub or anything.
03:14Because I don't go.
03:16We're coming in now.
03:17I'm quite excited.
03:18It's going to be so hard.
03:20It's going to be fun.
03:21It's going to be really hard.
03:23Let's go.
03:28This place is so beautiful, Dad.
03:29It's so beautiful, isn't it?
03:30Yeah.
03:31It's the most turquoise blue sea I've ever seen.
03:32It's amazing colour.
03:33Gorgeous.
03:34Not like Whitby.
03:36Next to join the race, broadcaster Anita Ranney and her dad, Bal.
03:42Look at that bird.
03:43Oh, my God.
03:44Did you see that?
03:45Look.
03:46What are they?
03:47They're pelicans.
03:48They have an amazing adventure.
03:50Here they go.
03:51They're going to dive.
03:52Yes.
03:53Wow.
03:54And obviously for me as well, it's about us having an adventure together.
03:57But I'm so aware of how hard my dad has worked his entire life.
04:01And never, ever, ever, ever, ever had an opportunity to just do what he wants to do.
04:05I'll grab it with both hands and both legs and run as fast as I can.
04:10How are you feeling about carrying this weight on your back?
04:12I'll tell you, I feel pretty good.
04:14Excited.
04:15Raring to go.
04:16I may be old, but I'm not that old.
04:18I'm still young enough to do it.
04:20But next year, maybe my knees might give up.
04:24Wow.
04:25Look at that.
04:26Wow.
04:27We've come to the very end of the island.
04:28We're going to be the best team.
04:29We already are, Dad.
04:30It's going to be good spending, like, five intensive weeks with my dad.
04:34Yep.
04:35And then you need five months holiday from me.
04:37No.
04:38You'll be learning dad jokes all the way.
04:40No.
04:41Five weeks of dad jokes.
04:47Have you remembered to put sun cream on?
04:49No.
04:50No?
04:51I packed it, but I haven't put it on yet.
04:53I'm going to put it on, all right?
04:55Okay.
04:56Third up, Derry Girls and Big Boys actor Dylan Llewellyn
04:59and his mum, Jackie.
05:00Watch your head.
05:01Oh.
05:03If we won the race, I think a lot of people would be surprised,
05:06including us.
05:07Whoops.
05:08Oh, my gosh.
05:09Okay.
05:10I don't think anyone thinks we're going to win.
05:14I don't think so.
05:15So there's no pressure.
05:16So, yeah, exactly.
05:17The pressure's off.
05:18Usually when the pressure's off in sport, one can do well, so...
05:22Nothing to lose.
05:23Yeah.
05:24Look at that sea.
05:25Just want to take a dip, but I'll probably knock into a rock.
05:30I'm quite shy and awkward.
05:32I like to stay in, do some gaming.
05:36I hope this experience will change me with my confidence.
05:40Maybe even my mum with her confidence.
05:42I can't believe I'm here.
05:43I'm really, really nervous.
05:45Yeah.
05:46Same as these.
05:47Wow, look at that.
05:48Wow.
05:49He's come to say hi.
05:50Wish us luck.
05:51Yeah, I think that's a good omen.
05:58Happy anniversary.
05:59Aw.
06:00Waiting to see, like, some dolphins pop up.
06:02I know.
06:03Start doing all that romantic stuff.
06:04Completing the line-up, actor Molly Rainford and her partner,
06:09radio host Tyler West.
06:11We first met on Strictly in 2022.
06:14Yeah.
06:15First time you ever flirted with me, I was like,
06:18congrats on your first 10 in the series.
06:20He was like, oh, I'm looking at a 10 right now.
06:22I was like, oh, here we go.
06:24You know what?
06:25I thought I was so cool, but then also I was like,
06:26I just gave it an it.
06:28Ten times over.
06:29No, it was smooth.
06:31That looks busy.
06:32That's a party boat.
06:33Aw, babe, we got on the wrong boat.
06:35Mine and Ty's usual holidays are, like, all inclusive.
06:40All I'm worried about is the tan and what's for dinner.
06:43Put a timer on.
06:44Yeah.
06:45Yeah.
06:46I'm like a rotisserie chicken, like.
06:47And then we just, yeah, do the panels.
06:49And then we'll switch back over.
06:50Mm-hmm.
06:51Oh, where's Ty?
06:52Is that the bar?
06:53Back with the cocktails.
06:54But I also feel like we're ready to switch that up.
06:57It is massively outside of our comfort zone.
07:00Comfort zone.
07:01See?
07:02So they're in sync.
07:03I've definitely got pre-game nerves.
07:04I've got your back, though.
07:05We have the determination to just keep going.
07:10We don't like losing.
07:12No.
07:13And as individuals, we're very driven.
07:15Put that together, it's like the Avengers.
07:21Here we go.
07:22Hola.
07:23Hola.
07:24¿Cómo estás?
07:25Hola.
07:26Buenos dÃas.
07:27Buenos dÃas.
07:28Buenos dÃas.
07:29Welcome to Isla Mujeres, the island of women.
07:32Please hand over your mobile phone, cash, and bank cards, please.
07:39Teams must survive with just an essential race kit.
07:42These are for you.
07:43A GPS tracker.
07:45A map.
07:46Remember you were map reading when you were a little girl?
07:48Correct.
07:49This is your task.
07:50Navigator.
07:51And then your money, Mr Money.
07:52And their budget in cash.
07:54We're going to have to decide who's in charge of the money.
07:56We can split it in case one of us gets robbed.
07:59Time to learn where the race will take.
08:02Let's do this.
08:05Final destination is...
08:07Bahamas, Bahamas, Bahamas.
08:09Peninsula de Guajira.
08:12Never heard of it.
08:13Have you?
08:14No, I haven't.
08:15GCSE, Geography, here we go.
08:18Yeah, here we go.
08:19What is a peninsula, babe?
08:21It's like a point, you know?
08:22Ah.
08:23Have you found it?
08:24There you go.
08:25Yes!
08:26Hee-hee!
08:27Wah-ha!
08:28Yahoo!
08:29Welcome back!
08:30Where is it?
08:31Colombia!
08:32We are going to Colombia!
08:33Found it!
08:34Found it!
08:35A journey from Mexico across the entirety of Central America,
08:38to the finish line.
08:41Peninsula de la Guajira.
08:43The northernmost point of the South American continent.
08:47To get there, teams must pass through five checkpoints.
08:51Only when they reach one will they learn where the next will be.
08:55And they must do it all on a budget of just £950 per person.
09:00Pesos.
09:01And dollars.
09:02The equivalent cost of flying the route.
09:05That is so much less than I thought.
09:07Sleeping on benches, here we come.
09:09Oh, God.
09:10Basically, we've got around £30 each a day.
09:13That's crazy.
09:15Your first checkpoint is Flores Petén.
09:19Where's that?
09:20Not a clue.
09:21We're not very good at this, are we?
09:23No.
09:24We'll spend all day at this, but let's ask somebody.
09:26Yeah.
09:27All right, yeah, because it is a race.
09:28It's a budget sort.
09:29And we need to leave this place.
09:30We're walking blind at the moment.
09:32Yeah, exactly.
09:33Good start.
09:34Oh, my God, that's a lizard!
09:35The start line, the headland of Half Moon Beach, sharing a shoreline with the Great Maya Reef.
09:44Home to over 500 species of fish, including the largest population of whale sharks in the world.
09:51I would say we're not up against brainiacs and athletes and stuff.
09:55No hope then.
09:57I think this is the only time we'll be first.
10:00Probably.
10:02Oh, my God.
10:06This is unreal.
10:07It's beautiful.
10:08I can see some people there.
10:10Hey!
10:11How are we doing?
10:12I'm Tyler.
10:13How are you?
10:14Jackie.
10:15Lovely to meet you.
10:16Did you manage to find the end point?
10:18No.
10:19Did you?
10:20We found the end point, but we couldn't find the checkpoint.
10:22Do you think they're fitter than us?
10:24Yes, Dad.
10:25100% they're fitter than us.
10:27Bring it on.
10:28Hello.
10:29How are you doing?
10:30You've already got us worried.
10:31Come on.
10:32This is going to struggle on a bus for 18 hours.
10:35Is it?
10:36But I'm fast at running, though.
10:38Competition's in the house!
10:40Competition's in the house!
10:41You're in it, too, in it, ain't it?
10:43If we don't win, our dad will kill us.
10:45Yeah.
10:46If we don't win, my dad will kill me, so...
10:48Can we get rid of this?
10:51Yeah, let's do it.
10:52Come on, let's do it.
10:53Let's do it.
10:54Let's do it.
10:55Let's do it.
10:56I always want to do well at something.
10:57If I'm going to do something, I want to do it to the best of my ability.
11:11There's no doubt in our minds that we're going to go and finish it.
11:14We'll finish it, even if we don't come first.
11:16Yeah.
11:17Which we will.
11:19Dylan and I have a lot more in us.
11:22We do have a fighting spirit, particularly I do.
11:25I've seen strong sides of my mum, so I know what she's capable of.
11:33Doing things that scare you are so important to you as a human being.
11:37To be able to have this with my sister is incredible.
11:42Who can I trip up first?
11:43I'm going to be striding up this beach.
11:45I have no doubt it's going to be the most emotional, exhilarating experience.
11:50As much as it scares me, it excites me.
11:55Oh, here we go.
11:58Right, Dad.
11:59See you at the checkpoint.
12:00Hopefully.
12:01Hopefully.
12:02Yeah.
12:03You got it.
12:04You OK?
12:05Oh, the sand is so heavy.
12:06Come on, keep up.
12:07Are we left?
12:08Keep behind.
12:09No, I'm here.
12:10I'm here.
12:11The plan's just got to be to get off the island as quickly as possible and then work out from
12:16there.
12:17I feel like I'm fighting for my life and everyone else having a pina colada.
12:22First, they must locate the port.
12:24The only way off the island for the teams.
12:28There's so many people.
12:29It's so crazy.
12:30It's hectic.
12:31All right, we need to get a taxi, Dad.
12:33Straight to the ferry port.
12:34There's a taxi.
12:35There's loads of taxis.
12:36Anita, is this the right road that we're holding?
12:38Back to the hotel.
12:39Let's go.
12:40There's a swimming pool and there's a bar.
12:42Hola.
12:43Adios.
12:44Oh.
12:45Do you guys know where Flores Paten is?
12:49Oh, my God.
12:50No.
12:51Oh, hey, you're literally on vacation.
12:53Hola.
12:54Hola.
12:55Donde is Flores Paten?
12:56We are right here.
12:57Yeah.
12:58In Isla Mujeres.
12:59Yeah.
13:00And Paten is here.
13:01Guatemala.
13:02It's in Guatemala.
13:03Yeah.
13:04Over 1,100 kilometres south, in the Republic of Guatemala, the first checkpoint.
13:13Rising from the waters of Lake Peten Itza, the colourful city of Flores, built upon the
13:20last stronghold in the Maya kingdom and surrounded by Central America's largest tropical forest.
13:29That's the ferry there.
13:31That's it.
13:32Come on.
13:33Watch it.
13:34Watch it.
13:35Watch it.
13:36It's all right.
13:37Dad, don't worry.
13:38Come on.
13:39We need to find out where we're going.
13:40Yeah.
13:41Looks like one's just come in.
13:42Come on.
13:43What worries me is my own lack of patience.
13:44I do have a mind that is very .
13:47603 pesos.
13:49Okay.
13:50We're going to do it.
13:51Is that the cheapest ferry, though?
13:52Yeah.
13:53I think we just need to get off.
13:54It's all right.
13:55Next time, let's get some prices for that.
13:56Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:57Before just rushing into the first ferry or whatever.
14:00The ferry's at four.
14:01Wait, that's in five minutes?
14:02Yeah.
14:03Let's go.
14:04There's the others.
14:05How are they ahead in the line?
14:06Oh, they've made it.
14:07Yeah, look.
14:08There's a nice position.
14:09They followed him.
14:10There they followed him.
14:11We're getting off that island.
14:12We're getting off.
14:13As two teams set sail.
14:14It's not there.
14:15Uh.
14:16Dylan and Jackie are still getting their bearings.
14:20This is a good start, isn't it?
14:21We can't find them out.
14:22We did say we're a team tortoise.
14:23Yeah, yeah.
14:24Team tortoise.
14:25Slow start.
14:26I think at the beginning of the race, we're going to be feeling very nervous.
14:27Overwhelmed.
14:28Yeah.
14:29Yeah.
14:30Okay, here we go.
14:31Here we go.
14:32Here we go.
14:33You.
14:34Shall we try and ask someone if they think it's best?
14:35Yeah, I think so.
14:36I think so.
14:37Let's find someone.
14:38Yeah.
14:39We both don't like talking to strangers.
14:40Umm...
14:41Should we ask?
14:42I don't really.
14:43Umm, du-du-duu-duu....
14:46You ask.
14:48Disco a song.
14:49Disco a old segui.
14:50You talk about English.
14:51They're going to be feeling.
14:52Yeah.
14:54We are going to be feeling very nervous.
14:55Overwhelmed.
14:56Yeah.
15:00So okay, here we go.
15:01Chris, can you try and ask someone if they think it's best?
15:03Yeah, I think so, I think so.
15:06Let's find someone, yeah.
15:07English. Disco pay. Disco. Disco pay. I think everyone's way ahead of us now but it doesn't
15:16matter. Yeah it's chill. We'll make up for it. They do their thing. We do our thing. Keen to settle
15:21on a route before they leave. Planning time. Welcome to the meeting. Molly and Tyler also
15:28still on the island. Do you know what it's been a bit of a wild jump in the deep end. Never for
15:32once in our lives have we ever been in a situation where we've never known where we're going to
15:36sleep what we're going to eat or how we're going to get there. Yeah. So we need to get
15:41to the A of Guatemala on this map right. To reach Flores teams could hug the Caribbean coastline
15:49the most direct route but includes an extra country Belize. A former British colony with
15:56a national pride for conservation is seen in its lush jungle and ancient Maya ruins. Or
16:03they could enter Guatemala by heading west to make the most of Mexico. Here they can
16:09save a life in the Yucatan Peninsula. From rural ranches to well-preserved cities for more
16:16than 300 years of Spanish conquest. I feel like we need to experience what actual, authentic
16:22Mexico is. This is like our chance to do what all our friends did in their gap years. Exactly.
16:27And we never got to do it. That's what we're going to dive into. Oh, here we go. Classified
16:32ads. To make it to the finish line, teams must work to top up their budgets and have been
16:38provided with a travel guide and directory of local jobs. I think we should get a job in
16:44Campeche. Yeah. Harvesting habaneros. You want to pick peppers over a beach club. I never thought
16:49I'd hear today. Well, that would be fun. Let's do it. We're going to come back and they'll be like,
16:52oh, where'd you go in Mexico? We're saying Campeche and now going, where? Not... So, look. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:58Doing something completely different to what we usually do is mad nerve-wracking.
17:02Straps so tight. Onwards. It sounds great on paper, looks great on the mat. In reality,
17:08I feel lost. I feel absolutely lost. What do you want to do for our anniversary tonight?
17:15Get to Cancun. So, that'll be my anniversary gift to you. I'm going to get you to Cancun.
17:29Arriving into one of Mexico's most expensive tourist hotspots...
17:33We're on the mainland. That's the most important thing. Two teams aiming to escape tonight to avoid
17:40early budget depletion. 100% out of Cancun. Correct. Yeah, let's get the heck out.
17:48What are you doing taking souvenir with you? Don't make a mess in front of the church.
17:53I reckon we'd take a route towards Belize. That's the best way. I mean, we could do. Belize is, like,
17:59exotic. Exactly. And there's so many Mayan ruins there. That'd be amazing.
18:04When I was growing up, Dad was always working, running the factory. We've never been on holiday
18:08together properly. Day trips is what we did. Day trips. Yeah. Tended to be Blackpool. Blackpool,
18:13Whitby. Me and my brother in the boot, along with a massive picnic. We can explore Belize a bit.
18:21Yeah. And get a good experience as well on the way. I'm very curious and wherever I'll go,
18:26that's what I'm looking forward to, really. I've seen something new and never seen before in my life.
18:31But we will have to cross a border. Yeah. So there might be a bit of faff,
18:34but it's the most direct route. Dad, are you up for this? Let's go for it. Let's vamos.
18:40Me and Dad want a proper adventure, like, you know, Indiana Jones style or romancing the stone.
18:46Hola. To the central bus station.
18:48Ten pesos. Ten pesos.
18:50We're taking a risk. We're going the most direct route according to the map. Doesn't mean it's the easiest route.
18:58Oh, my God. What did we just take out?
19:05Bradford. A city called Bradford in England.
19:09We're here for the real Mexican tour.
19:18I'm confused. Tomatoes and potatoes.
19:22Not a single tourist sitting on here.
19:28So, we either stay in Mexico or go through Belize. Still debating their first move, Roman and Harley Moon.
19:36I think Belize. Rapido.
19:38My only worry is the border crossings. That's the only thing. We'd be doing two borders.
19:43Yeah. Because they can take a long time.
19:45Or do we just try and find our way through Mexico, then go straight into Guatemala from there?
19:50First day is like, should we go this way? Should we go that way? How long is it going to take for us to go that way?
19:55Should we rock, paper, scissors, yeah?
19:58Oh, it's hard, man. It's so hard.
20:00I just don't want to stay in Cancun.
20:02We can't afford it. No. It ain't cheap.
20:06I think we need to get out of this bit and then figure it out.
20:09Yeah, let's go to Valadoid tonight and then the day after we just sprint it down.
20:17Okay, let's go.
20:22Hedging their bets, the siblings settle on a short 200-kilometre hop to Valladolid
20:28to keep their options of onward travel open.
20:31Let's autobussy our way out of here.
20:35Row, 7.30.
20:37What, what? 7.30, Valladolid.
20:40Valladolid, 7.30.
20:42It's expensive.
20:43Tos, ticket, boleto, si, gracias.
20:48As night falls on day one of the race...
20:51Here we go, our first adventure.
20:53..Roman and Harley Moon are first to leave Cancun.
20:57Why have we got you talking already?
20:59We're just going to trap these mosquitoes.
21:01I don't want me no mosquitoes that come near me. I look like Iron Man.
21:04As two more teams look to make a getaway.
21:07There's a bus to Chetumal.
21:09I mean, we could just do an overnight bus.
21:11We might as well cover the distance, right?
21:13Well, sleep on the bus.
21:15My gosh.
21:15Well, we're fixed.
21:17We are fixed.
21:19Anita and Baal seize the chance to leap south,
21:23straight to the city closest to the border of Belize.
21:28I'm not going to sleep. I'm buzzing.
21:29I'll tell you a bull story. How's that?
21:31Yeah.
21:32Once upon a time.
21:34I feel like our best option is to find somewhere to sleep and eat here,
21:42and then in the morning jump on a bus to Campeche.
21:46Isn't there a coach that goes there now?
21:48No.
21:49You want to do an overnight bus on day one?
21:51Not that I want to do an overnight bus,
21:53but if we get to Campeche at early hours in the morning,
21:56have an amazing day and see a side of Mexico that we never once imagined.
22:00Tyler's plan, save an accommodation by travelling 490 kilometres through Mexico overnight.
22:09Do we want to be near the toilet?
22:11No.
22:12Think about it.
22:13Think about it.
22:15OK, no.
22:17Look, I hope this pays off, because this could get us ahead, you know?
22:21It's the final minutes of our anniversary.
22:24Don't say I don't spoil you.
22:26Honestly, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world right now.
22:31Watch out.
22:33Jesus.
22:35Might be after this bit.
22:36Yeah, yeah.
22:36No, maybe not.
22:37Go, go, go.
22:38Oh, Dylan.
22:39Navigating downtown Cancun, Dylan and Jackie.
22:43Absolute chaos.
22:44I don't think we're going to push ourselves too much more now.
22:47Do you think we should just settle in Cancun?
22:49Yeah.
22:50If we stress ourselves then.
22:52No, it's not.
22:53We're not going to get anywhere then.
22:54Oh, what a day.
22:58Hopefully, there's room at the inn.
22:59True.
23:01I mean, we're kind of taking a hit tonight and just go cheap tomorrow.
23:06Should we see if we can get some food?
23:09Yeah.
23:10Well done.
23:12We haven't covered much ground.
23:13We've literally gone from Isla Mujeres to Cancun.
23:18It's not great.
23:19Good dinner is served.
23:23Hopefully tomorrow we catch up with everyone because I think we are behind everyone.
23:27Looks like it's an American meal tonight.
23:29American, yeah.
23:31We'll do Mexican tomorrow.
23:34Hopefully it'll get easier than this, hopefully.
23:38We survived the first day.
23:39Yeah.
23:40Just.
23:55Where are we?
23:56We're not in Kansas anymore.
23:59Yeah, literally.
24:05Oh, whoa, whoa.
24:05Ah, look at the cows.
24:07We are fully in the sticks.
24:10Even if we did have a phone, we wouldn't get no signal.
24:13It's not happening out here.
24:15Having left the tourist bustle of Cancun behind, Molly and Tyler are now deep in the vast plains of Campeche,
24:24one of Mexico's prolific chili-producing regions.
24:29It is hot.
24:30Bro, this looks really cool.
24:32For over a century, the Hacienda San Diego Chave has been growing peppers in its groves.
24:39Peter Piper picked a pickle. There is a tongue twister, but I don't know.
24:43Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
24:46Harvesting them all by hand.
24:50Hola.
24:50Hola, team.
24:51Hola.
24:52There's no gadgets, machines, nothing.
24:55To earn free bed and board, Molly and Tyler are working under the tutelage of farmhand Juan.
25:01Is there any special technique?
25:04Just pick them up and put them on the back.
25:05OK.
25:06Perfect.
25:08One for this side and the other one for the other side.
25:10Perfect.
25:11We won't let you down, boss.
25:13The cream of the crop.
25:15Just buy it.
25:15Just buy it.
25:16No big deal.
25:17Just do it.
25:17The habanero chili.
25:23Up to 140 times hotter than a jalapeno.
25:31You're a Mexican, supposed to be, no?
25:34Oh, don't lick your lips.
25:35They are really sweet as well.
25:38Just spicy.
25:39You all right?
25:40Mm.
25:44I'm so happy we didn't stay in Cancun.
25:47This is really peaceful.
25:49Do you know the thing is, back at home, it feels like we're always on.
25:52Yeah.
25:52100 miles an hour.
25:54Always having, like, a pressure on you and it's full on.
25:56It's around the clock.
25:57But then you come out here and it's like, I haven't heard one phone go off in the time
26:01that we've been here.
26:02Yeah.
26:02There's something really, really nice about that.
26:04Mm-hmm.
26:05Like a space to just clear your head, isn't it?
26:08When I first jumped into this industry, I was told to get social media.
26:12Like, you know, you need to jump on this.
26:14And I feel like now it's just become part of the job and part of life.
26:18And so we've navigated a lot of our relationship with all eyes on us.
26:22There's not many times where, you know, we've been without social media
26:25and sharing all that stuff.
26:27Mm-hmm.
26:27I feel like this is the first time I've done a job that's been considered normal.
26:32What, picking peppers?
26:33Yeah.
26:34I started working when I was 11.
26:36I was gigging every weekend.
26:38I was sitting my year six sats and I was on the final of Friends Got Talent the night before.
26:44Yeah.
26:45I was, like, when I was 11, I was the shyest kid ever.
26:49Were you?
26:50I was the shyest kid ever.
26:51I used to get my homework done at school so I could run home and watch Indiana Jones movies.
26:55Really?
26:56I was shy.
26:56Yeah, of course, I was shy as hell.
26:58Such a contrast to today, I guess.
26:59Yeah.
27:01What would be so nice about the race is just have, like, a moment where, you know,
27:05you get rid of, like, the outside noise, switch off, literally.
27:10Disconnect.
27:11Yeah, from our phones and just see where it takes us.
27:14You missed one there, babe.
27:16No, that was you.
27:17But me?
27:18It's your side.
27:19All right, yeah, actually, I missed one.
27:21Hey, come on, buddy.
27:22You took care forever, man.
27:24They finished already.
27:25What?
27:26Come on, buddy.
27:27I know that you honeymoon, though, bro.
27:29That's work.
27:30It's not a honeymoon right now.
27:32Let me tell you.
27:34How do you get so many?
27:36It's incomparable at this point, Miles.
27:38Molly?
27:39I'm coming.
27:39All right.
27:40Come on, Molly.
27:41It's not quite as good as yours.
27:42See, this is a couple goals right here.
27:44One day.
27:45Come on, man.
27:45You have to move it.
27:46All right.
27:47Pick up the place, Ty.
27:48It's all right.
27:48When I worked at McDonald's, I was on front till.
27:51I was quick.
27:52I got three stars in the end.
27:54Did you?
27:55Two of them I found on the floor.
28:01Finally leaving Cancun.
28:04Oh, this is civilised.
28:06I like going on train journeys, don't you?
28:08Mm-hm.
28:09Dylan and his mum aboard Mexico's brand new railways.
28:13This is a nice, fast train.
28:14We're definitely gaining momentum, but obviously it is more money.
28:18But we're giving ourselves a fighting chance now, aren't we?
28:20Exactly.
28:21But as tourists pay twice the price of locals,
28:24it comes at a cost of 4% of their total budget.
28:27South of Merida, there's lots of connections here.
28:31Yeah.
28:31For a potential route to get to Guatemala.
28:34And we can explore Mexico more going this route.
28:37Their high-speed train will whisk them 300 kilometres
28:41to the colonial town of Merida, the cultural capital of the Yucatan.
28:46Let's do some culture.
28:47Treat ourselves.
28:48And eating.
28:49Yeah.
28:49Hopefully some lovely food for you.
28:52Yeah.
28:52We need an upgrade from a hot dog.
28:54Yeah, yeah, definitely.
28:55Yeah.
28:56I'm really excited.
28:57There's good music there.
28:59So that's what I'm hoping for.
29:01Actually, if I was your age, I would have been partying in Cancun
29:06and places like that.
29:07I like it.
29:08Yeah.
29:09Spring break, Jackie.
29:10Spring break, Jackie, yeah.
29:12I'm not as sensible as you, Dylan.
29:14All right.
29:15And I'll try not to embarrass you.
29:17No, you won't.
29:18You do your thing.
29:19You cut some shapes on the dance floor, you know?
29:21Cut some shapes?
29:22Yeah.
29:23Let's go wild.
29:24I will.
29:27As one team head deeper into Mexico...
29:31Dad?
29:32What?
29:32Could this be our bus?
29:33Belize.
29:34See?
29:34Yeah, OK.
29:35Get yourself, come on.
29:36The bus is here.
29:37Another is looking to leave.
29:39This is brilliant.
29:40They put the packs on, I jumped on the packs.
29:42This is brilliant.
29:44You're getting your first sort of backpacking at this room,
29:46isn't it?
29:47Do you remember me going?
29:48Yeah.
29:49I just said, I'm off to Africa.
29:50How did you let me go?
29:51I do wonder about that.
29:52But I suppose you have no choice with me, really, do you?
29:54Well, you're a bit stubborn.
29:56Stubborn?
29:57I'm not stubborn.
30:00Having bussed their way to the Belizean border,
30:03Anita and Bal are the first team out of Mexico,
30:06forging ahead to their Mayan ruins adventure tomorrow.
30:11Do you think the mosquitoes will be different?
30:13Yeah.
30:14I think these are a lot more laid back.
30:17Once a British colony, Belize is the only English-speaking country
30:21in Central America.
30:23Its Caribbean coast borders rainforests,
30:26teeming with exotic wildlife, including the jaguar,
30:30the largest wild cat in the Americas.
30:37Don't go nice.
30:40I don't think we're far.
30:51Lagging behind in Mexico,
30:53still just 210 kilometres from the start line.
30:57I think horses are an amazing animal.
30:59It just makes me extremely tense how close they're just standing to their back legs.
31:03Roman and Harley Moon are mucking in at Charos del Rosarito Ranch,
31:08a training ground for the Escaramosas,
31:11female rodeo riders who perform elaborate equestrian dances.
31:16Whoa.
31:18Wide bird.
31:19The siblings are working off a free night's board.
31:22Oh, Jesus.
31:24Before figuring out their next move.
31:26Do you know what we should try and do?
31:27I think almost like rake it sideways.
31:29So, Japanese style.
31:31Are you trying to feng shui the horse paddock?
31:34Yeah.
31:36Roman, horses are meant to be really good for anxiety.
31:39Would you be able to help her?
31:48Yeah.
31:48We are trying to get south, so we're trying to understand the best way.
31:55We need to go to here, to Laco Petén Itza in Guatemala.
32:00BayadolÃn.
32:01BayadolÃn.
32:01Chetomal.
32:03I'm in directo.
32:04It's más corto.
32:05So you think go into Belize and then Guatemala?
32:09Yeah, this is the short and easier route.
32:12Cool. Thank you.
32:12Armed with local intel, sights are set on heading south through Belize,
32:19following in the footsteps of Anita and Bal.
32:22I think we've actually landed on our feet, because now we know for sure Belize is quickest route.
32:29Day three, I reckon we're going to hit Belize.
32:31Close as we can tonight.
32:32Day four, we'll be at the checkpoint.
32:37Yeah, is that what you want to hit?
32:38Come on.
32:46Hola.
32:47We have to go to Chetumal.
32:53Nothing today.
32:54But today?
32:58No.
33:01Um...
33:02Okay, muchas gracias.
33:04My worries is just, I mean, we've only moved from Cancun to Valladolid in two days.
33:09I mean, if there's not a bus, we're not moving, so...
33:12If there is a bus to Tenesique tonight, would you do it?
33:16Yeah, but we've been told to travel through Belize is the fastest way.
33:24Sticking with their tip-off to cut through Belize to the checkpoint
33:28means standing still in Valladolid for a second night.
33:32The alternative, make their way through Mexico via Mérida
33:36to the border town of Tenesique.
33:39I'm open to it, I'm not saying no, but to me it feels like the wrong direction.
33:47Shall we check if there is a bus to Tenesique?
33:50I think, personally, we should stay here and enjoy it and make the most out of it.
33:59But I know that you want to keep moving,
34:02so I'm happy for whatever makes you feel happy.
34:05Shall I go and find the prize?
34:07Yeah.
34:07I can just look.
34:08Okay.
34:10I just really enjoy being in the moment.
34:13For me, the fun of it will be making a decision,
34:16wondering if it's the right decision to make.
34:22Mum and Roman are real warriors.
34:25They'll think, oh, should we do that? Is that the right way?
34:27And me and my dad have not even noticed that there's anything to worry about.
34:31I feel like a lot of me is very anxious and that can get in the way of just enjoying
34:42the moment. I want to learn how to drop that barrier sometimes that I have with life,
34:48which is, you know, a worry.
34:49There is a bus, but we would arrive at 2.35.
34:55In the morning?
34:56In the morning.
35:02All right?
35:03Help me.
35:05All right.
35:06I think we stay here and just get the 10 o'clock bus.
35:13Am I all right?
35:14All right.
35:17This is so hard, man.
35:20There's, like, a logical side of me that's going, like, no, like, move, move, move, move, move.
35:29You're worried about it still.
35:30No, it's okay.
35:31I agree.
35:32Okay, let's do it.
35:33Shall we go Martigus?
35:35I don't know.
35:36I guess I've got, like, that inherent fear of reaching that checkpoint so late
35:40that we're, like, 24 hours behind.
35:43Right, ready to change our moods?
35:44Yeah.
35:45We're in Mexico.
35:48Tequila.
35:50Let's have a lower.
35:54Right, that's what I'm talking about.
35:55Starving fun in Mexico.
35:59That's the spirit.
36:01As Roman and Harley Moon face another night in Valladolid.
36:07Oh, wow.
36:09This is beautiful.
36:10They've been leapfrogged by Dylan and Jackie.
36:15Whoa, look at them go.
36:16Do you want to go there, Dylan?
36:18Just have a look at it?
36:18Yeah.
36:19Go on, dance.
36:19Oh, wow.
36:20Look at that.
36:22That's amazing.
36:23After dark, Merida Street's come alive with free music performances.
36:28It's good to be here with you.
36:29The Jorana is a traditional Yucatan dance, combining Spanish folklore and Maya rhythms.
36:38This is what we've come for, isn't it?
36:39Yeah.
36:48I think we should have all four tacos.
36:52Yeah, we'll have all four.
36:53We're eating like kings tonight.
36:54Oh, we've got some music.
36:56We've got some music.
36:59Oh, here we go.
37:02Oh, wow.
37:04Of course, quite a lot, actually, isn't it?
37:06Oh, gracias.
37:07This is our treat.
37:10You've got to get stuck in.
37:13Do you think maybe we've overordered?
37:14Yeah.
37:16Whoops.
37:17What?
37:18A lot better than the hot dog.
37:20A lot better than the hot dog.
37:38All right.
37:40Oh, look at this.
37:40Wow.
37:41It's like being in a Discovery Channel.
37:44Yeah.
37:45Crocodile.
37:46Right there.
37:47Little croc.
37:48Look at that.
37:49Oh, wow.
37:50Oh, Dad, this is properly wild.
37:54Journeying upriver through dense jungle,
37:57Anita and Bal are venturing to one of the oldest Maya
38:00archaeological sites in Belize.
38:03There!
38:04Dad, can you see it?
38:05Yeah.
38:06Oh, yes.
38:10Proud above the rainforest,
38:13the 3,500-year-old Lamani ruins.
38:16You're stepping back in time here.
38:18We are.
38:22These ancient temples, once reserved for priests and rulers,
38:27rarely ascended by ordinary citizens,
38:30the Jaguar Temple is one of the few Maya sites the public can claim.
38:34It's beautiful.
38:38I can't believe we're here.
38:41Is that a monkey?
38:42It's a howler monkey.
38:43Yeah.
38:43Listen to those.
38:44...
38:46When I was growing up,
38:48my passion was to travel and visit different parts of the world.
38:52I wanted to actually join the Royal Air Force.
38:55Looks a bit steep.
38:56Let's get as far as you can.
38:57Let's see.
38:57I can get.
38:58We'll do it together, come on.
39:00But in them days, Asian family, especially with my family,
39:02you have to respect your parents or whatever they said,
39:05you actually did.
39:06So I left school at 15 to help them out.
39:09Good. Don't look down.
39:11Wow.
39:12So when I had my own family,
39:14I focused on giving them more than I had.
39:19And I've worked all my life to achieve them.
39:24Brilliant.
39:25Well done, Dad.
39:27Oh, great.
39:29This feels absolutely amazing.
39:33It does feel amazing, doesn't it?
39:35Wow, Dad.
39:37Can you imagine it?
39:38Hundreds and thousands of people praising us.
39:42All hail Baal, the god of Yorkshire.
39:52My dad's given everything to make sure me and my brother
39:54had every opportunity.
39:57So he's never been able to fulfill any of his dreams.
39:59And that really saddens me.
40:01I want my dad to finally, in his life, have an opportunity to just experience some magic.
40:08I'll try and take it all in, and then suddenly the wind starts rushing through the trees, and the more I think about that, the more energy I'm feeling from this place.
40:25At this age, I'm getting to a point where I'm thinking, how long can I be going, you'll start looking towards making funeral plans, never mind anything else.
40:35You get into that sort of thing where it never happened to me now, and then suddenly it does.
40:41It's fantastic.
40:42Now I've cancelled the funeral plans, by the way.
40:44You know, I'm really glad I'm here.
40:48Do you go to the bus station?
41:01Yeah.
41:02It's our favourite place to go.
41:03It's our favourite place to go.
41:06Almost 38 hours after arriving in Valladolid, Roman and Harley Moon are finally making tracks towards Belize.
41:13Day three, we've decided to move.
41:17The race begins now.
41:21Also making moves.
41:23No.
41:24Get out of the road there.
41:25No, no, no.
41:26Is that not a stop of that?
41:28Anita and Bao skip waiting for the next bus.
41:31Stop, stop, stop.
41:32Stop.
41:33Yes.
41:34We got it.
41:35Yes, amazing.
41:36Me too.
41:37Come on.
41:38Yes.
41:39I will get us there, Dad.
41:42You keep an eye on the money, and I will make sure we're going in the right direction.
41:47Their hitch taking them to Belize City, a major transport hub with direct buses to the border town of San Ignacio.
42:00That's the bus, man.
42:01Perfect.
42:03Can I get in?
42:04Sorry.
42:05I'm going to go get in.
42:06I'm going to take this one and this one.
42:11Well done, Dad.
42:12Once we made a decision to go somewhere, we were like, let's go!
42:17Approaching Guatemala from the west, two teams covering ground through Mexico.
42:23Leading the way, Molly and Tyler.
42:25So, okay, so one of them's with a fan.
42:28One of them's with air conditioning.
42:30Looking for a budget-friendly bed for the night.
42:33The price difference is 300.
42:36300 Mexican pesos, what's that?
42:3813 quid.
42:40Boy, I don't mind slumming it.
42:41Okay.
42:43How bad can it be?
42:45Oh, my Lord.
42:46Oh, my Lord.
42:48It's bloody hot.
42:50Are they going to heat it on?
42:55Ugh!
42:56Oh, what's that?
42:57That's a bed bug.
42:59That's a bed bug.
43:00Is that what bed bugs are?
43:01That's a big, bad boy.
43:03Don't repeat yourself.
43:04Is that what bed bugs are?
43:05I'm telling you, that's a big, fat bed bug.
43:08How do you know?
43:09Don't you dare flick it at me.
43:10I wasn't going to do that to you!
43:13No!
43:16I'm so proud of you.
43:17You're facing your fears.
43:19I'm so proud of you.
43:20I'm so proud of you.
43:21I'm so proud of you.
43:22I'm so proud of you.
43:24170 kilometres behind.
43:27Oh, dear hell.
43:29We've set all the dogs off.
43:31Arriving late into the town of Escarcega.
43:35Looks a bit weird.
43:37Er, is it open?
43:39Dylan and Jackie are on the hunt for a hotel.
43:43Oh, no.
43:44Sorry.
43:45Hola.
43:46Hola.
43:47Doctor's person.
43:48Verb.
43:49One night.
43:51We do not have one.
43:52Oh.
43:53Oh.
43:54Anywhere near?
43:56Here at the hospital, there is one.
43:57Here at the hospital, there is one.
43:59Si?
44:00Si.
44:01Ah, si.
44:02Let's see what happens on this.
44:04Let's go to the hospital, don't we?
44:06Yeah.
44:07It feels like a fever dream.
44:10It says, urgencies.
44:11Oh, there's a hospital there.
44:13He's not lying.
44:14They wouldn't have rooms for rent in a hospital, would they?
44:16I don't...
44:20Hey, maybe you do...
44:21You can stay in the hospital in most guys.
44:24Hey, don't know.
44:26It could be the thing, so...
44:28OK.
44:29Yeah.
44:30Oh, man, I feel weird going into urgencies.
44:33It is urgent, but it's not that urgent.
44:36English?
44:37Habla Ingles?
44:39No.
44:41Hotel?
44:42Sleep?
44:43Hotel?
44:44Is there another one up there?
44:45Hmm?
44:46Ah.
44:47Ah, gracias.
44:48OK, gracias.
44:49OK.
44:50Maybe he means, like, it's past the hotel.
44:51Over the road, past the hospital.
44:52Past the hospital, yeah.
44:53That might make more sense.
44:58He must think we're crazy.
45:00Can we stay in your hospital?
45:01I pray that we get to checkpoint.
45:11Whatever it takes today.
45:13All right, let's do it.
45:15Roman and Harley Moon have finally reached Belize,
45:19looking for transport south towards the checkpoint.
45:22So what time is this bus leaving?
45:23It's leaving now.
45:24Leaving now?
45:25OK.
45:26When would it arrive in Flores?
45:276, 6.30.
45:29God!
45:31There's been a twist.
45:32There's been a massive twist.
45:33There's a bus that literally says...
45:35Flores!
45:37It's happening.
45:38Right, it is happening.
45:40After a slow start to the race,
45:43an opportunity to fast track 360 kilometres
45:46all the way to the Guatemala checkpoint.
45:49We are on a bus, the Flores.
45:52Yes!
45:53Yes, my brother!
45:55I feel sick with excitement.
45:57This has kicked us up maybe 12, even 24 hours.
46:01What in the luck bucket has happened?
46:04To the west...
46:06This is not the border, is it?
46:08Molly and Tyler have reached El Sable.
46:11It's a bit chaotic here.
46:13Don't know how excited I am for this.
46:14The outpost that straddles the Mexican-Guatemalan frontier.
46:20Come on in.
46:24I'm a bit sketchy, if I'm honest.
46:26Whites, everywhere.
46:27Just whites.
46:29Fat pig there!
46:31What the Ross?!
46:33Don't look, where is the border?
46:34Like, am I in Guatemala now?
46:36Oh, hang on.
46:37Oh, it's straight.
46:39It says welcome.
46:40Hey!
46:42Also, just walking up to Guatemala as if we're going to knock for a mate.
46:47Yeah!
46:49It's like we're just walking up to the front door of another country going,
46:51hello, can we come in?
46:53Heading for the same border crossing.
46:58Mother and son.
47:00Spending big once again on a high-speed train.
47:04I love the train, but it is a big cost.
47:08Yeah, yeah.
47:09Maybe we see if we could talk to someone and see if they can give us information.
47:13That's a good idea.
47:15Despite the price, the railway can only take them so far.
47:19Their next stop, Tenosique, still 60 kilometres shy of Guatemala.
47:24We're looking to go to, uh, Flyers of Britain, Guatemala.
47:28You know, colectivos?
47:30No.
47:31Colectivos are kind of like mini buses.
47:34Are they cheap?
47:36Yes, they are like buses for local people.
47:38Oh, oh, okay.
47:40This has been a great help.
47:41Really big help.
47:43Thank you so much.
47:45Progress.
47:48Hello.
47:49To get combi collectivo?
47:50Collectivo, yes.
47:51Yes, yes, yes.
47:52Here, here.
47:53Okay.
47:54Is this it?
47:55Yes, yes, yes.
47:56Hell yeah.
47:57Hooray!
47:59You okay?
48:00Yeah, just.
48:01So much cheaper.
48:03The taxi would have been, like, triple that, really.
48:05We're getting better at it compared to day one.
48:07It's definitely gaining confidence.
48:09Yeah, we're getting the hang of it.
48:11Things are looking up.
48:14Guys, we're going to Flores.
48:16This is your chocolate.
48:17Flores.
48:18Now we are on the home straight.
48:23Six hours into Roman and Harley Moon's streamlined journey to the checkpoint.
48:27A quick bus transfer in Belize city.
48:30Welcome to Belize and safe travels, okay?
48:33Thank you, ma'am.
48:35Is this it?
48:36Are we on our way to Flores?
48:37Is it happening?
48:38Yeah.
48:48We've come out of the car park and we stopped.
48:51You worried?
48:53No.
49:00Good afternoon, guys.
49:01Here we go.
49:02Here we go.
49:03We have a little mechanical issue.
49:05The clutch has gone in, right?
49:07We try to fix whatever is going on here and get you guys back on the road.
49:10We were waiting for it.
49:12I wasn't.
49:16I knew it was too good to be true.
49:19The mantra I'm trying to live with on this is now, like, expect the worst.
49:26I think we can do it.
49:27Yeah.
49:28We're not calling it a race anymore.
49:29We're just calling it what could possibly go wrong next.
49:41I think we needed that nicely.
49:42It's almost like, you know when your laptop freezes and you just need to turn it on and
49:46off again?
49:47Yeah.
49:48We just needed to be turned on and off again.
49:49Yeah.
49:50I hate it.
49:53Having made it into Guatemala, Molly and Tyler are ready to race.
49:57after a decent night's sleep.
49:59If another team has beaten us by three hours because we've just decided to sleep in this
50:02morning.
50:04It would just be the cherry on top, wouldn't it?
50:07Right.
50:08Let's go.
50:10Just like...
50:12See what I mean?
50:13Hasta luego.
50:14Hasta luego.
50:15Flores!
50:17Yay!
50:18Just 160 kilometres now stands between them and the checkpoint.
50:22But back on the road, Roman and Harley Moon are closing in from the east.
50:30Right.
50:31We're in the right country.
50:33Well done.
50:34Colombia!
50:35This...
50:36This isn't Colombia.
50:37Where are we now?
50:38Guatemala!
50:39We're trying to hitchhike.
50:40Yeah.
50:41You're going to Flores.
50:42Would you take us?
50:43Please.
50:44Por favor.
50:45Por favor.
50:47Thank you so much.
50:48Let's have a drink.
50:49Let's have a drink.
50:50Let's have a drink.
50:51Let's have a drink.
50:54Oh, Hector!
50:55Wow.
50:56Oh, Hector!
50:58This guy is amazing.
51:00This is the slowest bus.
51:01This bus driver is the only bus driver adhering to the 5mph speed limit in the whole of Guatemala.
51:13On a small island in Lago de Pitanica, a maze of cobbled streets and painted houses, the tropical city Flores.
51:29Perfect.
51:31Let's go.
51:32Hector, you've saved our day.
51:38To navigate their way to the Checkpoint Hotel, teams must locate landmarks along the
51:43way.
51:44Here we go.
51:45By any means necessary, make your way to Parque Concordia.
51:50Parque Concordia.
51:54Situated midway along the narrow causeway that connects the mainland to Flores Island.
52:00Where is Parque Concordia?
52:03This is right.
52:07Let's get some hustle.
52:09Parque Concordia?
52:10Okay, gracias.
52:11He said this way, right?
52:12Uh, yeah, he said straight up here.
52:13Keep going straight.
52:14You okay?
52:15Yeah, I just think it's crazy running.
52:16The tic-tic might be really cheap.
52:17Let's not spend money.
52:18We just run.
52:19Come on, girl.
52:20Okay.
52:21Parque Concordia.
52:22Okay.
52:23Parque Concordia.
52:24Parque Concordia.
52:25By any means necessary.
52:26Should we just take a tic-tic?
52:27That would be so much quicker.
52:28Parque Concordia.
52:29Yeah?
52:30Gracias.
52:31Gracias.
52:32Go, go, go, go, go.
52:33Oh, come on!
52:34It's the part biggest I've ever had.
52:37Oh, wow, babe.
52:38Oh, my days.
52:39I think we're here.
52:40OK, concordia, yeah?
52:42Gracias.
52:43Go, go, go, go, go.
52:46Oh, come on!
52:48Ah!
52:49Ooh, ah, ah, ah!
52:51It's the one biggest one I've ever had.
52:54Oh, wow, babe!
52:55Oh, my days.
52:56I think we're here.
52:59Oh.
53:00On foot, cross the bridge into Isla de Flores
53:04and find Cathedral de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios.
53:09Let's go. We're good.
53:10Don't pace it too much, babe.
53:11No.
53:12Right.
53:13I'm going to call it that speed walk pace.
53:14You know when you do that?
53:15Yeah, yeah, yeah.
53:16Look at the hips.
53:17That's a real slow pace there, Kent.
53:19The bag weighs a ton.
53:21All my days.
53:22I'm getting cramped.
53:23Babe, your speed walk is my run.
53:26The cathedral's always in the centre.
53:28Hola, any cathedral?
53:30Yeah?
53:31Yes!
53:32Gracias.
53:33Come on!
53:34Get in!
53:35Holly, your bag's not even on properly.
53:36I know.
53:37Do you want me to take it?
53:38If you can, we've got it in you.
53:40There!
53:41Yes!
53:42Yes!
53:43There it is!
53:44We've got to find that cathedral.
53:46Oh, it's hot.
53:47Now what?
53:48Make your way by boat to the checkpoint hotel, Las Lucia Nagas.
53:54We've got to get the boat.
53:55This is wild goose chase.

55:41Brilliant, absolutely brilliant
55:43Can't quite believe it
55:45No, yes
55:46But can believe it
55:47Oh my God
55:48Let's get it written down
55:49Right
55:50Going via Belize was definitely worth it
55:52What we did right was, we are very decisive
55:54They were quick to make a decision and stick to it
55:57Wow, well done
55:58Can't get complacent
55:59But my God, on the first leg to be first
56:02Feels so good
56:03Really, really good
56:07Anita's a machine
56:08This is a machine
56:09I do think we've done some things quite well because we've come second
56:13I think I went over the map for three hours, you know, trying to work out what was best
56:18So much harder than I thought it was going to be
56:20It's the most Arsenal fan thing in the world to be celebrated in second place
56:24It's unreal
56:25The sweet taste of second
56:28Ah!
56:29Yes

56:50Proud of you
56:51I love you
56:52I love you too
56:53Aw
56:54Do you know what I'm proud of in that leg?
56:55Is that we actually experienced Mexico
56:57Yeah, we did
56:58No, I feel like we've absolutely, like, thrown ourselves in
57:01At the deep end
57:02Way out of our comfort zone
57:03And I feel like we're enjoying it
57:05Mm-hmm
57:10Ahoy-hoy
57:11Yeah, it must be over there where those lights are
57:13Yeah

57:37Well done
57:38Well done, we did it
57:39I agree with that
57:41After travelling more than 1,100 kilometres
57:43One team leads by over 23 hours
57:47While just six hours separates the rest
57:49It's the rest
57:50I think we can only get better
57:51I mean, yeah

58:10My stamina levels are going to be a challenge
58:12Shush, Dad
58:13But we're going to give it our best shot
58:15It's for my view of you driving me to school
58:18They'll probably think that I'm not a friend
58:20He loves you
58:21But we'll surprise people
58:24I'm absolutely loving it
58:25I fantasise over the idea of being Indiana Jones
58:29What was that?
58:30This race is so tough
58:32The national strike has been announced
58:34And get off, and get off
