00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland Janesweather update for Friday.

00:04We have got a bit of a trough that is setting up in through here,

00:06one down there and one down there.

00:09We're looking at showers and thunderstorms developing over the next couple of days.

00:12So fairly clear at the moment.

00:13The heat wave pattern is up in the north mainly,

00:16but we do have a little surge of heat that's coming down today.

00:19Let's have a look day by day what to expect.

00:21Our shower and storm activity, it's inland today and up in the north here,

00:24but not in the southeast corner.

00:26And there's not a lot of widespread activity as yet.

00:29Let's watch that develop.

00:30So yeah, that's during the day on Friday.

00:32Happy look at Saturday all in through these parts here.

00:35The risk of showers and thunderstorms heading into Sunday.

00:38Now it moves slightly further northwards, contracting northeastwards.

00:42And on Monday into that southeast corner into here,

00:45but we're more of a southeasterly wind, less stormy, more showery hitting the coast.

00:50So that's over the next couple of days what to expect as a trough moves through.

00:53After that, things are looking fairly quiet in the southeast

00:56and along most of the coastline, just a light onshore wind,

00:59not doing very much at all by Tuesday.

01:01Into Wednesday, into Thursday, that's when our next trough comes back through.

01:06The next system building over to the west,

01:08but the models are not clear on where that is likely to go at this date.

01:12We may get a significant trough running down in through here.

01:15So showers and thunderstorms out ahead of that one, but that is one to watch.

01:18So it looks like kicking off Friday, moving, increasing as we move through the weekend,

01:23dissipating as we move into early next week.

01:26Then the next one comes back at the end of next week.

01:28What might that add up to?

01:30If you're on that trough line running in through here, 10 to 15 millimetres,

01:34but really it's showers and thunderstorms.

01:36So if you're directly under a thunderstorm, then yes, you would get a heavy fall.

01:40Less for the far southwest as the trough sets up in through here

01:43and then clears north eastwards.

01:45So for Brisbane, day by day, lots of sunshine today in the high 20s.

01:49Tomorrow, dry pretty much during the entire day,

01:52but then showers and thunderstorms from late afternoon into the evening.

01:56Similar pattern on Sunday, then it's looking a little bit showery during the day on Monday.

02:00So temperatures decrease there, but they do jump up during the day on Saturday

02:03ahead of that change coming through.

02:06All clear again by Tuesday, Wednesday, I wouldn't expect anything really out of that one.

02:10And then Thursday, they may be kicking off again next Friday.
