00:00After over 20 years of helping other people find their dream home overseas, we're actually doing it ourselves.
00:15This house is the first time I've done any sort of demolition.
00:20Let's get on with it. Hammer it down.
00:24Jack, hammer it out.
00:27What can go wrong?
00:30I'm currently in hospital waiting for the prognosis.
00:34It's very difficult to keep it together, to be honest. I'm ready to throw in the towel.
00:42Basically, I'm a professional now. I've just made a big hole.
00:46I feel like a house renovation requires a lot of wine.
00:49Oh, f***.
00:50And then...
00:51This is the dream. This is what we hoped life in Spain would be like.
01:00Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that something like this would be a reality.
01:07Having helped hundreds of people find their dream homes on a place in the sun, Jasmine Harmon has found one of her own at the western end of the Costa del Sol.
01:31This stretch of coastline is part of Estepona, but they're calling it the New Golden Mile.
01:40I don't even know what that means. I don't even know what the Old Golden Mile is.
01:43It's Marbella.
01:43Oh, right.
01:44This is the New Golden Mile.
01:46And you say we decided. I mean, you told us.
01:47I decided.
01:49With its Andalithian old town, glamorous coastline, and the Sierra Bermeja mountains as a backdrop,
01:56Estepona is a unique and enchanting place that Jasmine and her family are already enjoying,
02:01having moved over from London to a rental while they wait to complete on their new home.
02:06I'm feeling nervous, excited, out of my depth, but trusting that eventually it's all going to be okay.
02:23Jasmine and her husband, John, have been married for over 15 years, having met on set.
02:28He's a cameraman who's worked with a host of popular property and food TV shows.
02:34He is someone I know I can always rely on. He will do anything for the people that he loves.
02:40He is very driven. He's very ambitious. And he makes me laugh.
02:49With his stupid sense of humour.
02:53John's travelling back and forth to the UK for jobs.
02:57There are times during the year where Jazz and I are super busy and we are like ships crossing in the night.
03:03Other times of the year we're really lucky and we get to hang out as a family.
03:07You know, both of us are very family-orientated people.
03:11That's why the Spanish culture and lifestyle suits us, actually.
03:15It's much more family-orientated here.
03:18Their children, 11-year-old Joy and Albion, nine, have been settling in at a local school.
03:28Joy is a very, very smart kid.
03:32I mean, I'm learning stuff from her all the time.
03:36She's a really good friend.
03:37Albion is the kind of joker of the family, always larking around.
03:44You could argue he's very similar to me.
03:47If you could describe mummy in three words, what would they be?
03:51Um, stinky, kind and old.
03:54That's me.
03:55That's me.
03:57Seeing and experiencing a different life will hopefully show them that they can do anything
04:09and they can go anywhere because the world is their oyster.
04:13Jasmine and the kids already have EU passports as Jasmine's mum is from Cyprus,
04:18which has made the move out to Spain really easy.
04:21And once Jasmine started looking at properties, it didn't take her long to get that feeling.
04:28I think our house has got the most amazing potential.
04:33I love the character of it.
04:35I love the fact that it's got lots of traditional features.
04:40And I think once we've finished with it, it's going to be phenomenal.
04:44Financially, we have stretched ourselves to the absolute maximum in order to be able to buy the house.
04:55We've got no plan B.
04:57There's no option for failure.
04:59We've got to make it work.
05:03This project of a property is the place they've had an offer accepted on.
05:08We've got an opportunity to buy something that we can work on.
05:14We can add value.
05:15We can make it into a much better home for our family than anything we could have afforded otherwise.
05:23That house is all location, location, location.
05:27Yeah, it's not going to be living the dream in there, is it?
05:29Until we've gone through the whole renovation project.
05:33No, it's a dream location.
05:34It's not a dream house at the moment.
05:38While they wait for all the paperwork to go through, Jasmine and John have arranged to show the kids their future home for the first time.
05:50This is it, kids.
05:52What do you think?
05:54Mmm.
05:57You're meant to look at it.
05:59Is it like your mommy's house hunters?
06:02Tiny house hunters.
06:04So, look.
06:05This, with the blue paint, is our house.
06:10What's your favourite bit so far, Albs?
06:13The blue paint.
06:15Don't you like the natural exposed brick?
06:19Right, come on, let's go in.
06:21Is it your house of dreams?
06:22Not exactly my house of dreams, but...
06:25It's split over four levels.
06:30Down in the basement, there's a large room with potential, a storage room, a bathroom, and a garage.
06:39What do you think, Albs?
06:43Albie, I know what you're thinking.
06:45This screams Spanish dream lifestyle.
06:47Yeah, definitely.
06:48Oh, careful, Albie, mind you don't trip.
06:54A very luxurious toilet.
06:57What did you think of the window?
07:00There is none.
07:01There is.
07:01There's just a hole in the wall.
07:03Looking at the house again, I'm starting to feel quite daunted.
07:10I don't know why.
07:11I think the first time I walked in there, something just hit me, and I thought, I can make this work.
07:17I can do this.
07:17This is going to be amazing.
07:18It's got so much potential.
07:19I could really, really see myself there.
07:23Now, seeing it, for what it really is, there is a huge amount to be done.
07:30For me, this is one of the first priorities.
07:34Yeah, my worry is this looks like a water pipe, but where it's supplying and where it's coming from and why it's dangling over here, I have no idea.
07:43This isn't even finished.
07:44I mean, the garage door is basically a shower curtain.
07:49This keeps the thieves at bay.
07:52I guess my biggest anxiety is making the right decision for my kids.
07:58Say cheese.
08:01The worst thing that can happen with the house renovation is you get something wrong or you have to pay for something again.
08:06But when it comes to my children and their future, you think you don't want to mess up their lives.
08:12I've got this whole weight of responsibility.
08:18Up on the ground floor, there's a lounge diner with doors to a balcony.
08:22And a kitchen.
08:25What do you reckon, kids?
08:27It smells bad.
08:28It's tiny.
08:31Tiny?
08:32It's not that small, is it?
08:34Also on this level, there's an unfinished bathroom and a bedroom with en suite.
08:39What do you think is going to be in this room?
08:44So you guys are going to share this room?
08:47We haven't decided yet.
08:48This will be the room Daddy's banished to when the renovation goes wrong.
08:52Up on the first floor are three bedrooms.
08:56One has an en suite and its very own Sun Terrace.
08:59Joy's gone.
09:09Is he actually throwing up?
09:13I don't know.
09:13I mean, it is quite gross.
09:17He will carry most of the practical things.
09:19I will carry the family, the emotions.
09:23I'll carry the disused hot tub off the sun, off the roof terrace.
09:28Okay.
09:29That's a deal.
09:30You can, yeah.
09:31Great.
09:32Don't leave me hanging.
09:33Oh, sorry.
09:34And that's the bathroom with the very damp ceiling.
09:44What are you doing?
09:46Let's see how damp it is.
09:53That went in my mouth.
09:55I just think it's like ten years of...
09:57Neglect.
09:58Neglect.
09:58I think the Skyline does need ceiling.
10:00And everything else.
10:01Like, there's nothing in this bathroom that would stay.
10:08Up on the top floor, there's a utility room that leads to a roof terrace.
10:16It's not bad, is it, out here?
10:18I mean, you could make so much more of it.
10:20This is the Skyline for that bathroom where the damp's coming in.
10:23Yeah, yeah.
10:23I mean, why have they got...
10:24Well, I imagine they're waiting down that tarpaulin.
10:27Be careful, because it's full of dirty water.
10:29Oh, God.
10:31This is going to bode well if you can't take a bit of tarpaulin off the top.
10:39I don't know if I've got the stomach for this renovation.
10:45Did you bring your swimming trunks out?
10:47No.
10:48Imagine, in a couple of months' time, you'll be picking up sinkers from the bottom of that pool.
10:53I'm not too sure.
10:54You're not too sure?
10:57It's obviously loads more work than we ever thought we would be taking on in Spain.
11:02The kitchen needs ripping out and replacing.
11:08There's walls to knock down.
11:10There are access issues.
11:12The pool is empty.
11:16Everything is going to need doing.
11:18And I've got a screwdriver to do it all with.
11:23And we've got to live in it whilst we're doing the work.
11:28I think we need some stairs down from there.
11:32That's going to be one of the first things we do.
11:34I don't know if you'd get planning permission.
11:35You don't agree?
11:36Well, I don't think it should be a priority.
11:38I mean, I'm not even convinced.
11:39It's going to cost a lot of money.
11:41I think we need to live in it first to see how much of a problem is.
11:44Any arguments that we have are usually on quite small things.
11:47Most of the time on the bigger things, like moving to Spain or taking on a renovation project, we agree.
11:58Do you think we've made the right decision?
12:01Yeah.
12:03I'm saying that with a lot of conviction.
12:06There is no other option now.
12:08We have to make it work.
12:09I can see the potential.
12:11I can see the finished product.
12:15I can see my family there.
12:19But getting there is going to take an absolute ton of work.
12:39After delays at every stage possible, Jasmine and John have now been in a rental close by for nearly six months, waiting for all the paperwork to go through on their Spanish property purchase.
12:52Usually, with most of my house hunters over the years, it's been very straightforward.
12:57Obviously, as soon as I put my money where my mouth is, everything's gone wrong.
13:03And it has been far from straightforward.
13:06We've had to get over quite a lot of hurdles to get to this point, including various legal things we had to look into with the property.
13:18It's an inheritance, so we've had to wait for that to be processed.
13:22It's been quite overwhelming.
13:24But we did eventually exchange contracts.
13:27And we've got a final date by which we have to complete, which is coming up in less than two weeks.
13:35With their Spanish mortgage offer also expiring around the same time, the pressure is on.
13:43But eager to get cracking and with John away on a filming trip, Jasmine's heading over to the house for a bit of property therapy.
13:51I've offered the owner to come and help her to clear some stuff up, but it's just me.
13:58Sounds like, you know, very kind of me, but there is the selfish side of me that also just wants to make sure we hit our completion date.
14:05This house, since it was built, has been in the same family.
14:11And sadly, now the previous owner's passed away.
14:17We're buying it from their children.
14:22The owner, she's told me what needs to go, what needs to stay, what's going to charity.
14:30So I've got a good idea of where everything's supposed to go.
14:33So, oh my gosh, I mean, it's still a mess.
14:39But then what do you do with all this stuff?
14:40I mean, these huge tables, there's a throne, I think, by the look of it there.
14:48Right, let's get cracking.
14:53Oh, OK.
14:55When I was growing up, our house was very full, very cluttered.
15:03My mum was a hoarder.
15:07My mum still is a hoarder, actually.
15:10I find it quite triggering when I see big piles of stuff that looks like junk to me.
15:16I remember at the time being a youngster and thinking that the possessions, the piles of stuff, were more important to my mum than I was.
15:27These ones are for charity.
15:31Oh, there we go.
15:32I've been getting overwhelmed just packing up my own house, and I can barely imagine what it must be like trying to clear out decades of stuff.
15:44It's not that the lady is a hoarder or anything.
15:48It's generations of accumulated stuff that now needs to find a home or needs to go somewhere.
15:58I love my mum very much.
16:06I think one of the really valuable lessons that I've taken from my mum and her hoarding is that we shouldn't be wasting as much as we waste.
16:14If you can recycle, donate, upcycle things, then that's really great.
16:22I know that John probably won't agree with me.
16:28But I do quite like these tiles.
16:34And, you know, I want to keep a bit of that traditional Andalusian style in the house.
16:41Woo!
16:42Trying to break them.
16:46Oh, God, that's heavy.
16:48I can see how much progress has been made, but there's still quite a lot to be cleared.
16:56And, yeah, it's given me a bit of anxiety, to be honest.
17:07Back at the rental, Jasmine's keen to press on with renovation plans.
17:11What's the date?
17:13What's the date?
17:13But with John away, making real decisions isn't easy.
17:17I think part of the problem is because John and I both work away so much, actually trying to come together and decide what we want to do and thrash it out.
17:31You know, we just haven't had the opportunity to do that yet.
17:35It's quite heavy on my shoulders because I'm feeling like I'm making all the decisions at the moment.
17:39But I know when he comes back, he might not agree with all of my decisions.
17:43But, you know, that's just, he's going to have to suck it up.
17:53Hi.
17:54Hello, please.
17:55Where are you?
17:57Scotland.
17:58That does not look like Scotland.
18:00Nope.
18:01Oh, my gosh.
18:03When I first met John, we became really good friends quite quickly.
18:10We were kind of thrown together on location.
18:15I remember one night we went out with the whole team and some friends and I saw him on the dance floor and I thought,
18:24there's a man who knows how to make a fool of himself.
18:29Anyway, how's it going?
18:30I've just been talking to the lawyer and also I've had a chat with lots of different people about the project.
18:39You know, but I do think, looking at it, from roof to basement, everything's going to need doing, isn't it?
18:46I don't think we can make any huge decisions until we're actually in it and we know what we need to do.
18:50The areas where there's damp coming in, the roof, you just think we don't need to do that straight away?
18:57No.
18:57Whatever you do, if you haven't stopped the water coming in, surely...
19:03If it's not going to go off, does it rain?
19:05If we just have the...
19:06Well, anyway, if we don't have the money at the moment to not live there or to live there while we completely redo the whole house.
19:12So do you think you'll be here when we complete and when we move?
19:16If it's at the very end of this month, then no, I will... I'll be working in Scotland.
19:23Thank you, babe.
19:23Love you.
19:24Love you.
19:25See you later.
19:27Oh.
19:30As ever.
19:33Just don't know where to go with it.
19:35I'm, like, going around in circles in my head.
19:39Just think I've got decision fatigue.
19:44The deadline to complete is fast approaching, but with Estepona's Moorish old town on their doorstep, Jasmine and the family have plenty to enjoy in the meantime.
19:58Got all the different coloured flower pots.
20:00Lots of different coloured flowers.
20:02Me and the kids are having a little explore around the old town of Estepona.
20:09A big part of us moving to Spain was to be able to immerse ourselves in Spanish culture, learn the language, integrate with the community.
20:22The kids really loved exploring the old town.
20:25They liked throwing a coin into the fountain and making a wish.
20:28Who knows what they wished for?
20:39Do not push me in.
20:42I think it's great for kids to have that sort of context of having somewhere that's very historical as well as really good fun.
20:51Me.
20:52Kids were so simple.
21:01For them, the most fun bit was finding, you know, some stairs that had a slide right next to it.
21:09Oh!
21:11We stayed there for ages and they absolutely loved it.
21:13All that's missing is a little treat.
21:22What?
21:22Ice cream!
21:26Who's ready to go and get an ice cream?
21:32I'm just trying.
21:34I'm just trying.
21:35I win.
21:36Can I get an Oreo, Bianco, and Happy Hip Hop in a cup, please?
21:49We're all learning Spanish.
21:51The children are doing really well with their Spanish.
21:53They understand almost everything.
21:56What I would love to see is them feeling a bit more confident about speaking Spanish.
22:00But I think that will come with time.
22:02I could get used to this, could you?
22:06Oh, can I?
22:08Yes!
22:08Yeah, it's every day.
22:10I think sometimes as a parent you make decisions that you feel are the best for your family.
22:17Imagine living by the sea, being able to do stuff like whale watching and going to the beach whenever you want.
22:26How does that make you feel about living in Spain?
22:28I'm happier, but all of my very good friends are in England.
22:34Yeah.
22:35But we are lucky to live in one of the only places on earth in between the sea and the mountains.
22:42I know from my own experiences that living abroad really broadened my horizons.
22:47It opened up so many opportunities for me, and I want to do that for my kids.
22:54And it may not feel like it in the short term, but you hope that in the long term, it will be an amazing opportunity for them.
23:03There he is, look!
23:26This is just what it's about
23:29Beautiful blue skies
23:31This is what I love
23:35It's the most annoying box in the history of boxes
23:45There's now just a few days until Jasmine and John have to complete
23:51as their mortgage deal runs out
23:53and the lease on their rental expires
23:55Pero sin confirmación que va a suceder, la presión es de la presión.
24:01No sé si es el malo.
24:03No, no, no, no, no.
24:11Es como si hay un dead body en there.
24:14Hoy es Friday.
24:16Contractualmente, Monday es el último día que deberíamos completar.
24:22No, no, no, no, no.
24:52There's still some outstanding issues, legal issues, documents that hadn't been produced yet.
24:58John, did you already take that blue box of books down?
25:01It's just here.
25:02Can you put these in it as well?
25:04With little choice, they start shifting their stuff over to another temporary home
25:09while they wait for completion to happen.
25:10John is here for about 48 hours
25:14So he's able to help
25:16Which is great
25:18He's carrying all the heavy stuff
25:19Is this going to the storey?
25:21But there's still a bunch of
25:22Yeah, can we write on it what it is
25:25So that we don't
25:27Yeah, I mean
25:28This is Albie's clothes
25:30Can you write it any smaller?
25:35If you put your very focal glasses on
25:37You'll be fine
25:38From Kent to the Costa del Sol
25:42In many ways
25:50I think Jazz coped with the process of moving to Spain
25:52Much better than I did
25:53I'm not a great one for change
25:57And now our lives are back in boxes again
26:00And most of the kitchen is in several plastic bags
26:04I can't find anything
26:05And I don't cope that well with that
26:08It's fine
26:10Jazz says he'll be fine, so he'll be fine
26:12I'm trying to drill it into him
26:14Everything will be all right in the end
26:17Everything will be all right in the end
26:19I need to hypnotise him maybe
26:20John?
26:32How are you?
26:35It's the lawyer on the phone
26:36Hi Alex
26:38Not too bad
26:39Just in the throes of packing
26:41How are you?
26:42I've just got John here as well now
26:43Well, listen, I've got some wonderful news for you
26:47Tell us
26:48Well, the news is that the sellers have provided the bank certificates confirming they don't know anything left on the mortgage
26:56Your lender has accepted that so we can complete on Monday
27:00That is awesome news
27:07Thank you
27:08Yeah, they've left us at the very last minute but we're going to get you over the line on Monday
27:12Amazing, thank you
27:14Good stuff
27:14Thanks Alex
27:15Thank you so much
27:17Have a good weekend
27:17Have a lovely weekend and good luck with the packing
27:20Okay
27:20Thanks Alex
27:21See you Monday
27:22Take care
27:22Bye
27:23I'm so excited
27:31It's been such a long time coming
27:33But also because I can just see an amazing future in that house
27:40What?
27:45Probably the reality has just told me
27:50Oh, well done
27:54Good news that we found out that everything is in place to complete on Monday
27:58Whilst I should be super excited
28:01I am, yeah, I've still got huge amounts of apprehension
28:04This is the beginning of a very long, slightly uphill road
28:10I feel really pooping my pants but no, it's good
28:19Some of my anxiety comes from the frustration that whilst it's taken six months to get the house across the line
28:26Sod's law, it now coincides with me being super busy at work and not being in the country
28:31So when we get the keys, finally, on Monday, I won't be there
28:35John does tend to be a bit of a worrier
28:39Sometimes he's getting worse in his old age
28:43Whereas I'm getting a little bit less anxious in my old age, I think
28:47Maybe it's the HRT, you know, I don't seem to have the same sort of anxiety as I used to have
28:53It's probably an overshare anyway
28:56I'm just off to my dance fitness class
29:09Which I do a couple of times a week
29:11It's just such a fun class
29:14Great workout
29:15And really nice atmosphere in the group
29:19Staying active is really important to me
29:28I mean, whenever I've been feeling stressed or overwhelmed
29:31Or just feeling a bit down
29:35I go to the class and it makes me feel better
29:38It's like medicine for your well-being and for your mental health
29:43Daniela, the instructor, she came here when her children were quite little
29:56You know, from another country
29:58I find her really inspiring
30:00She's just somebody who I think, wow, she's got it sussed
30:04She's nailed it
30:05That's what I want to do
30:08One, two, three
30:10Four sides
30:11I've been so lucky to be able to meet loads of people
30:21It's a very international community around here
30:24I've found it to be really welcoming
30:26And I think wherever you go
30:29You will always find your people
30:32It's not always easy
30:35And I think it takes a while to settle in
30:38And it can be a bit awkward
30:40And if you say, oh, hello, would you like to go out for a drink?
30:44You know, it's almost a bit like dating
30:46But even more uncomfortable when you're trying to meet new friends
30:50But you have to put yourself out there
30:53You're never going to meet friends and become part of a community
30:56If you're just sitting in your house all the time
30:58But I feel like I'm getting there
31:00The next morning, John's heading back to the UK for a job
31:15Even Jasmine to finish the move from one holiday let to another
31:19See ya
31:20See ya
31:23See ya
31:25Next time I see you, we'll be in a different house
31:28I've just got to go for work
31:30Love you
31:31When John's away
31:33I cope, okay
31:35I cope fine
31:37I mean, everything's a bit more chaotic
31:40When it's just me on my own
31:42I've got to go for a little bit of a car
31:44See you in a bit
31:46I won't be long this time
31:48We'll be back soon
31:49Everything runs like clockwork when I'm not here
31:52As opposed to when John's not here, everything just runs
31:57There's no clockwork involved when it's me actually in charge
32:01Love you, Dad
32:09Love you
32:10Most of the big stuff he's managed to take over already
32:18Which is great
32:19And so I've just got to sweep the rest of the house
32:23I keep finding little nooks and crannies that I've forgotten about
32:28Things that I think, oh, must remember to take that
32:32Or, oh, still got to sort out that
32:34And I also get really distracted when I'm packing
32:38And looking at things and reminiscing
32:41And I haven't really got time for that
32:42Like I found this
32:44Jasmine Harmon, my summer holiday diary
32:50Today we went to the seaside
32:54I splashed my dress all over
32:57It was my great-grandad's birthday
32:59Nice little memories
33:03And I think those things are important
33:05To help you feel a sense of belonging
33:08What do you do about your kids' pictures and stuff
33:12And stuff and writing
33:14Oh, it's a poem that she wrote
33:16Oh, they were doing nonsense poems in school
33:19So, the splinky link was ploppish and quip
33:25With pithness, scotch plas and a squeamish bip
33:29I love it
33:33If I could have avoided having to move temporarily
33:52I would have avoided it
33:54But it's fine
33:56It is what it is
34:00So, it was disappointing to have to move
34:07And all that upheaval and packing and everything else
34:09And we still didn't get to move into our own house
34:12So, it was a bit deflating
34:14That evening, Jasmine and the kids are settling into their short-term rental
34:20Living out of boxes
34:21And holding on to hope that the completion of their new home
34:25Will happen in the next few days
34:27Mama
34:30Mama
34:33Daddy's calling you
34:36Hands down
34:38The hardest part is being away from the kids
34:41Is your sister okay?
34:43Yeah
34:43Is mommy okay?
34:47Yeah
34:48As a loving dad
34:50Knowing that I'm miles away from my kids in a different country
34:54Really does pull on my heart
34:56Trying to stay awake
35:03It's been an exhausting day
35:08With getting everything moved over here
35:11Pretty much single-handedly
35:14I'll be coming to clear your stuff off the table, please, darling
35:17And as good as it is to be here and, you know, have everything moved
35:21I just keep still thinking about the kids
35:25And as a parent, you just, you know, you just can't help worrying
35:28You're doing the right thing for your kids
35:29And, you know, you want to give them security and stability
35:35And is moving from one place to another
35:37To then move to another place
35:38The right thing to do
35:40I've got a bit of avocado and a bit of lime as well
35:43So I just want to get settled here for now
35:50Even though this is only temporary
35:51We'll probably just get settled here in time for us to move again
35:56I don't even know why I'm getting emotional
36:00I'm just tired
36:17There's a lot, there's been a lot to do
36:20And I just hope we can get into our house soon
36:27And finally, you know, have our home
36:33The reality of it is hitting me
36:37It's a lot of work
36:38If I thought this was a lot of work
36:40Just moving from one house to another
36:42Imagine the work I've got ahead
36:45Jasmine and John's lawyer, Alex
37:04Who they've given power of attorney to sign all the documents
37:07Is confident today's the day
37:09He's ready at the notary office
37:12Where everything gets signed and approved
37:14And will keep Jasmine informed
37:16Every time my phone vibrates
37:21I keep thinking it's going to be the lawyer
37:23Hoping to sign in the next 30 minutes
37:36Then heading back to the office
37:38With the keys
37:39Oh my gosh
37:43Exciting, hey Astro?
37:47You're more interested in my breakfast
37:49Aren't you?
37:52If the deal doesn't go through
37:54Jasmine and John's mortgage offer will expire
37:56And they could risk losing the house altogether
37:59After two hours of waiting
38:04Jasmine receives some news
38:06Okay, hit a snag
38:10Notary wants the architect's certificate amended
38:16To state finished more than six years ago
38:19And then it has to be stamped
38:21By the College of Architects
38:23So what does that mean?
38:29Are we still going to complete today?
38:36I'm so confused
38:38Like, I mean
38:40In all seriousness
38:42I
38:43I don't even know
38:45Could this jeopardise the whole thing?
38:49If we don't complete
38:50We have to go back to the drawing board
38:53I don't know
38:55I don't know what happens
38:56I haven't got a plan B
38:57It takes 24 hours
39:01To be stamped by the College of Architects
39:03He says
39:03They've been there all day
39:08They're only raising this now
39:10So
39:11I might as well go back
39:13And carry on unpacking then
39:14Because it looks like
39:15It's not going to happen today after all
39:17I'll wait 24 hours
39:19For the document to be stamped
39:21It's super annoying
39:26I don't even want to call John
39:2930 minutes before the notary office closes
39:35Hello?
39:41Hi Jasmine
39:42Hi
39:43Good news
39:44Your lender has agreed to sign today
39:48So long as we provide the architect's certificates
39:51When it's stamped by the College of Architects
39:54Either tomorrow or the next day
39:55Amazing
39:56Fantastic
39:58Fantastic
40:02You're signing now?
40:04I'm signing now
40:06Okay I'll call you back
40:06Okay thank you bye
40:08Oh my gosh
40:14That is exciting
40:16Finally some good news
40:19Come on
40:21Hello
40:25Hi Jasmine
40:26I'm just finding out to say congratulations
40:28You now own a Spanish property
40:30Thank you
40:34Sorry I've got my bra
40:36Thanks Alex
40:38Jaz is a pretty emotional person
40:40But it's an endearing quality
40:42That is amazing
40:44Thank you so much
40:45I'm sorry you've been there the whole day
40:47No no it's okay
40:48It's okay
40:49Thank you so much
40:52Are you heading back to the office?
40:54I'm heading back to the office now
40:55I've got the keys for you
40:56Okay I'll be there as soon as I can
40:59Thanks then bye
41:00Bye
41:01I never doubted for a second
41:04That Jaz would get the house across the line for us
41:07What a relief
41:09It's all going through today after all
41:12Finally
41:14And an hour or so later
41:20After six months of waiting
41:22Jasmine can finally collect the keys from lawyer Alex
41:25Hi Jasmine
41:26How are you?
41:27Hello
41:27Okay congratulations
41:29This key ring says lucky
41:32So that's for you
41:35Oh that's amazing
41:36Thank you
41:37I'm going to head over there right now
41:39Excellent
41:39Finally getting the keys was wonderful
41:44It was exhilarating
41:46It was like
41:48Imagine you've just climbed a mountain
41:50And when you get to the top
41:53You almost can't enjoy it
41:55Because you're so exhausted
41:57That you just collapse
41:58That's how I felt
42:00Oh my gosh
42:04Oh my goodness
42:12That's a lovely parting gift from the vendors
42:17A little throne
42:19My mind is just racing
42:23I'm like which bit do we do first
42:24Which is the most essential thing
42:26What do I need to do
42:27I almost can't take it all in
42:30In one go
42:30It is a shame
42:32That John wasn't here with me
42:33He could have carried me
42:35He could have carried me across the threshold
42:37You know like newlyweds again
42:39Hello
42:44Hello
42:44Hi
42:47Congratulations
42:49Congratulations look
42:51Are you there?
42:52Are you meeting?
42:53Look
42:53I mean I should have noticed you in the house
42:55There's a half built wall behind you
42:56Well done
42:57What are the plans of interviewing?
42:59Jazz is amazing at grabbing the ball by the horns
43:02And just doing it
43:03Can you believe it?
43:05Six months it's taken us to get to this point
43:08You've done well
43:10Six months and typically I'm not there
43:12But it's good
43:13I know you're him
43:15Alright good work
43:16Well done
43:17Congratulations
43:17Oh I love you
43:20Well done
43:20So long by there
43:21Bye
43:22Bye
43:22I'm absolutely stunned
43:30That no one else
43:31Saw the potential in this
43:34Before we saw it
43:35And snapped it up
43:36My bedroom
43:37Because for me
43:39I just think
43:40It's going to be our dream home
43:42So I feel like I'm on a bit of a high
43:48It's almost like when you give birth
43:49You know you've got all these
43:51Hormones and emotions
43:53And it's just amazing
43:55And then probably I don't know
43:57I hope I'm not going to come crashing down
43:59Oh my god
44:01How the heck did they get that jacuzzi off this roof terrace
44:08It's been stressful up until this point
44:11But I think what I've got coming
44:14Is going to be even worse
44:16I don't want to move into somewhere that's just a dump
44:29Where the toilets don't flush
44:31The windows don't open
44:32Nothing works
44:33It's like breaking through the channel tunnel
44:38I can see the kitchen
44:40What's this saying about polishing a turd
44:45Although a turd with loads of potential
44:48How theस
44:49I can see the channel
44:51I think this is great
44:52Until next time
44:52Bye-bye
44:54Good to watch
44:54Bye-bye
44:55Tobi
