00:30¡No, no, no, no!
00:32¡No, no, no, no!
00:38¡No, no, no, no, no!
00:40¡ местamente, nada, no, no!
00:42¡Ehe, he, he, he, he!
00:46¡I am a Walmart!
00:50First up, we're in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin,
00:55where police are in pursuit of an ex-con
00:58who just fled a traffic stop
01:00after an officer accused him of appearing drunk.
01:04Earlier, Sergeant Bryce LaLuzerne
01:06was monitoring traffic
01:07when he says he spotted a car
01:09with what appeared to be broken taillights.
01:13R-145 traffic.
01:15Montevideo Street, Lake Shore.
01:18Hello.
01:20What's going on?
01:22Not too much.
01:22I'm Sergeant LaLuzerne,
01:23North Fond du Lac Police Department.
01:24The reason I stopped you
01:25is you don't have any taillights on.
01:30It's not on a man.
01:32Okay.
01:32Should be all good now.
01:34Do you got your driver's license on you?
01:38No, I don't.
01:40You don't have it on you?
01:41No, I'm going right up here.
01:42Stop right to the right.
01:44I'm right up here.
01:46What's your first name?
01:47Lawrence.
01:48Last name?
01:49I'm right here.
01:51I just...
01:52I'm home.
01:53Why are you so eager to get out of here?
01:55I'm right around the corner.
01:57It's been really bad.
01:58R-145, take a second.
02:00Why, what's going on?
02:01I was homeless.
02:02I had a gun put through my head.
02:04I was born to death.
02:05I was 30 degrees below zero.
02:07All I wanted to do was go on the corner.
02:08I was also alone.
02:09Okay.
02:10I just stopped you for the taillights.
02:11That's all.
02:12I got them on now, right?
02:13Yeah, they're probably good now.
02:15I got to walk back there and check, but...
02:16Can you start it off and step out for me?
02:19No.
02:19Why not?
02:20Why am I stepping out for this, though?
02:22Because I believe you had something to drink tonight.
02:24How much did you have to drink tonight?
02:25Nothing.
02:26Nothing at all?
02:27Nope.
02:27Okay.
02:28There's an open can of steel reserve behind your seat.
02:31Oh, yeah.
02:32That's what's cool.
02:33Okay.
02:33And your eyes are glossy and your speech is slurred.
02:36Okay.
02:37So, can I have you step out for me?
02:38No.
02:39Okay.
02:40Don't put it in a drive.
02:41Don't leave.
02:42R-145, he's taken off in the car.
02:44Stop.
02:44Stop.
02:46The suspect takes off, and Sergeant Lalo Zern rushes back to his cruiser to take up her suit.
02:521080, Westbound, Winnebago.
02:56Reasons for 55, 360.
02:59Traffic's better length.
03:01I'll take spikes from the county, and I'll take mutual aid.
03:06Soon, another officer pulls up behind the sergeant.
03:1024-145, I'm with you.
03:1310-4, get in front of him and try to box him in.
03:14I'll come up on your side.
03:16The two officers try to stop the suspect by boxing him in.
03:22But he pulls away, and strangely makes a call to 911.
03:28I'm like, honey, 911.
03:29Where's your emergency?
03:30I am in a high-speed chase right now, head north on 41.
03:35Let the cops go.
03:36If they stop me, I got a gun here.
03:37I'm going to start shooting.
03:38No, sir, I need you to not do that.
03:40Where is the gun now?
03:42Thanks for my left.
03:44What type of weapon do you have?
03:46I'm not going to tell you what kind of weapon it is.
03:48You're not going to tell me what kind of gun that you have?
03:50You will, but if they stop me, I will shoot them all to death.
03:54I'm not going back to jail.
03:56I'm savage.
03:57I'll shoot them.
03:58Okay.
03:59You do not do that.
04:01No, I swear to God.
04:02As soon as I stop, I'm coming off this door and I'm shooting.
04:05Okay, I need you to stay on the line with me, Lauren.
04:07Bye.
04:08No.
04:09Bye.
04:09You're knocking out.
04:10After he hangs up, the dangerous high-speed chase continues.
04:144145, we are in the right lane, doing 73 behind the semi.
04:19That's when the 911 operator surprises the driver by calling him back.
04:24Hello, who's this?
04:25Lawrence, is that you?
04:28Who is this?
04:29This is the 911 center.
04:30We just lost connection.
04:32I need you just to cooperate and listen to me.
04:33As soon as I come out of this car, as soon as I come out of this car, I'm shooting.
04:38Lawrence, I need you to not yell, okay?
04:41All right, here we go.
04:42Lawrence.
04:45Lawrence.
04:46The suspect makes a sudden exit off the highway, smashes through a fence, and into this field
04:52where his car comes to a stop.
04:54All right, time to shoot.
04:55Lawrence, do not do that.
04:57As the sergeant and other officers arrive on the scene, they shine a spotlight on the
05:03fugitive's car.
05:13Lawrence, I need you to talk to me.
05:15Nura 145, he's got something in his hand.
05:18I can't tell what I'm saying.
05:19Lawrence, can you hear me?
05:20Hey, man, don't do it.
05:21Hey, put your hands up.
05:24Put your hands up.
05:25Put it down.
05:25What do you have in your hand?
05:27Put it down.
05:29What do you have in your hand?
05:30Don't.
05:31Don't do it.
05:32He begins walking toward the officers.
05:36Don't do it.
05:37Don't do it.
05:39Hey, listen.
05:40Hey, buddy.
05:41Buddy, this is not a big deal.
05:43Relax.
05:45Relax.
05:46Show me your hands.
05:47Show me your hands.
05:49Come on.
05:50Show us your hands.
05:51Show us your hands.
05:52Come on.
05:53Don't do this.
05:54Listen, man.
05:55Hey, buddy.
05:56No, we can talk about this.
05:57Listen.
05:58Boy.
05:58Listen.
05:59But instead, the suspect, who's still on the line with 911, walks back to his vehicle.
06:06He's reaching.
06:07He's reaching.
06:07Stand by.
06:08Can you hear me?
06:09He's reaching around in the car.
06:11Hey, he's reaching.
06:12He's reaching.
06:13Watch his hands.
06:13Can you hear me?
06:14The fugitive soon begins walking toward the officers again.
06:25This time, he's got one arm behind his back.
06:28Show me your hands.
06:31Stop.
06:31Stop right there.
06:33Stop.
06:35Hey, listen.
06:36Hey, let's talk about this.
06:40Let's talk about this.
06:42Put your hands up.
06:43Put your hands up.
06:45And when he still refuses to follow the sergeant's commands, moving even closer with his hands
06:50still hidden behind his back, officers take action.
06:56Shots fired.
06:57Sergeant La Luzerne fires two shots, and the suspect goes down.
07:02Door 145, shots fired.
07:04We can't see his hands.
07:05Suspect is down.
07:06Give me EMS right away.
07:08He's down in the ditch.
07:09The officers hold their positions as backup arrives.
07:13I shot, yeah.
07:14You did?
07:14Yeah, you told me he was going to shoot me.
07:15How are you?
07:15I'm all right.
07:17I'm good.
07:17I'm good.
07:17I tried to talk to him, dude, and I tried to talk to him for so long.
07:20I'm the son of a bitch, dude.
07:24Officers slowly move into the field and approach the suspect, who is unresponsive.
07:29EMS arrived and provided emergency care, but the suspect died on the scene from his injuries.
07:36He was ID'd as 36-year-old Lawrence Drennan, an ex-con with past convictions for disorderly
07:42conduct, operating while intoxicated, theft, and burglary.
07:46Blood tests later revealed that at the time of the incident, Drennan had a BAC of .198,
07:53more than twice the legal limit in Wisconsin.
07:55No firearm was located at the scene, and no officers were injured during the incident.
08:01Following an investigation by the Winnebago County District Attorney's Office,
08:05Sergeant Lalozern's use of lethal force against Drennan was deemed to be justified,
08:10and he did not face criminal charges.
08:12Next, we're in Peach County, Georgia, where police are responding to a call about a woman
08:22who witnesses say has been driving in the opposite lane of traffic and is now putting
08:27law enforcement and civilians in danger by refusing to exit her vehicle.
08:32Earlier, after witnessing the suspect's reckless driving, local motorists blocked the vehicle
08:40in at an intersection and called police.
08:43When officers arrived on the scene, they attempted to talk the driver out of her SUV.
08:48I know this is great.
08:50Now, when the driver doesn't comply, officers lay stop sticks in front of her tires.
09:00Better work, though.
09:02But seconds later...
09:04I'll change your pages.
09:05Now you just had a wreck.
09:06Yeah!
09:12Yeah!
09:13The suspect tries to escape by ramming vehicles, as well as police and bystanders who are blocking
09:20her path, even sending this man falling to the ground.
09:25Break glass! Break glass! Break glass!
09:28Get out the car! Get out!
09:30The driver then reverses direction.
09:32Tires are blast!
09:33Start!
09:34Start!
09:35Start!
09:35Start!
09:36But then moves forward again, rolling over the stop sticks a second time before nearly running
09:43over the man in the blue shirt again, who attempts to jump onto the SUV's hood to avoid being hit.
09:49Jump, pull up!
09:50Move!
09:51Move!
09:51After the suspect pulls away,
09:54Move!
09:54Move!
09:54Come on!
09:55Byron PD captain Brian Hunter, along with other officers, immediately gives chase.
10:01Come on!
10:03But the fugitive doesn't make it very far, as the effects of the stop sticks kick in, forcing
10:09her to stop in the middle of the road.
10:11Officers quickly move to block her in, again.
10:18But the suspect doesn't seem ready to give up.
10:21As the sheriff's deputy attempts to punch out one of her windows, the driver hits the gas,
10:40aggressively ramming into a cruiser, and somehow driving off.
10:47She's not going to make it far.
10:48Go!
10:49But she only makes it to the next light, her SUV now badly damaged, and her front left wheel
11:04completely destroyed.
11:07After a cruiser rams into her, police box her in, again.
11:13I got you.
11:14Sir.
11:15Ma'am.
11:16We got it.
11:17I know I'm buckled, sir.
11:18I know I'm buckled, sir.
11:19Yeah.
11:20I know I'm buckled, sir.
11:21I know I'm buckled, sir.
11:22I know I'm buckled, sir.
11:23Yeah.
11:24Sir.
11:25No!
11:26I didn't do anything.
11:27I didn't do anything, I didn't do anything, sir.
11:28You just tried to kill 10 people.
11:29No, I did not, sir.
11:29Alex, what's happening?
11:30No!
11:31Guys, stop!
11:32Sir!
11:33I didn't do anything.
11:34I didn't do anything, sir.
11:35You just tried to kill 10 people.
11:36No, I did not, sir.
11:37Alex, what's happening?
11:38No!
11:39Guys, stop!
11:40Sir!
11:41I didn't do it!
11:42Stop!
11:43Stop!
11:44I did not do whatever you guys are talking about!
11:48As officers cuff the driver, a witness discovers that a small child has been at risk inside the
11:59vehicle throughout the entire incident.
12:02You could have killed that kid!
12:04I didn't do anything.
12:05Yes, you did!
12:06You almost killed three people!
12:08The driver was identified as 24-year-old Sierra Hibbert.
12:12Hibbert was arrested and charged with assault, criminal interference with government property,
12:18willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, criminal damage to property, reckless driving,
12:24and cruelty to children.
12:26She was released on a $50,000 bond and her case is pending.
12:30The child in the back seat was examined and medically cleared by EMS and then turned over to her grandfather.
12:37Police did not release the child's age or its connection, if any, to the suspect.
12:42No officers or civilians were seriously injured during the bizarre incident.
12:47Next, we're in Concord, California, where local PD are in pursuit of two allegedly armed suspects who police say just robbed a bank and carjacked a vehicle.
13:01Earlier, security cameras at a local bank captured these images of two masked men as they approached tellers at a counter.
13:09After one of the men pulled out a gun, the tellers began handing over cash.
13:14The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and witnesses provided a description of the getaway car.
13:21But when the fugitive's vehicle became disabled in heavy traffic, the bystander filmed the two men as they attempted to carjack the vehicle in front of her.
13:34The suspects removed the victim and got into their car.
13:37But the victim, who was unharmed, was able to activate a feature in the vehicle that disabled it, preventing the suspects from restarting it and fleeing.
13:47Now, Corporal Sean Parsley is the first officer to arrive on scene.
13:56The corporal ditches his bike and runs through traffic with his weapon drawn.
14:02As he approaches the scene, he sees that the suspects are now trying to carjack the vehicle driven by the woman who just moments earlier was recording them on her phone.
14:17Suspects are already inside the woman's car as she desperately rushes to gather her two children from the backseat.
14:24As the fugitives peel away, the corporal checks on the three victims.
14:30Are you okay?
14:31We got you.
14:32214.
14:33You got found.
14:34Additional officers join the chase as the suspects exit the highway onto local streets.
14:39Long side of the road.
14:40Long side of the road.
14:41But as the fugitives continue to drive recklessly.
14:45Justice Seed with somebody right in front of .
14:48Their luck finally runs out.
14:50The suspects crash into another vehicle.
14:53And as Sergeant Ramirez pulls up, they make a run for him.
14:57Suspect is on two suspects running.
15:00Sergeant Ramirez carefully follows them in his cruiser.
15:05One suspect, black shirt, all black, hang gun, running down Timothy and Mulberry.
15:10The other one is in a gray, all gray, with the firearms.
15:13Both have firearms.
15:14As the two fugitives run in opposite directions, the sergeant and another officer pursue the driver.
15:20At the same time, a local citizen's dash camera picks up the chase as the driver runs toward them.
15:27As he reaches the car with the dash cam, the suspect drops his gun and attempts to jack it.
15:33But when he's unable to open the door, he picks up his gun and continues to run.
15:39Sergeant Ramirez then exits his cruiser and fires his weapon.
15:46The suspect, who dropped his gun again while running away, was hit and fell to the ground.
15:53But he doesn't stay down.
15:55Stay down!
15:56Stay down!
15:57Get on the ground!
15:58Officers quickly catch up to him.
16:00Get on the ground now.
16:01Get on the ground now.
16:02Get on the ground now.
16:03Get on the ground now.
16:06The two officers cuff the suspect and call it in.
16:09Shots fired. Shots fired.
16:12One suspect being taken into custody.
16:15Give me your alarm!
16:17I got one outstanding suspect in the last location I gave you.
16:21Other officers apprehended the passenger nearby.
16:24They were ID'd as 29-year-old Cruz Vargas, the driver, and 21-year-old Elijah Phillips, the passenger.
16:31Police soon discovered that Vargas, who was treated for a gunshot wound before being taken to jail,
16:37was already on parole for a previous carjacking conviction.
16:41Police also found Vargas' gun at the scene, which had been illegally modified to become fully automatic with a high-capacity drum magazine.
16:51He received several new charges, including felony robbery, fleeing a pursuing peace officer's motor vehicle, driving against traffic, carjacking, possession of a machine gun, and hit and run.
17:03As for Phillips, who already had active warrants for domestic violence and theft, he was charged with felony robbery, carjacking, and possession of a machine gun.
17:12Both men have pled not guilty and remain in custody.
17:16Their cases are pending.
17:21Next, we're in Atlanta, Georgia, where officers are in foot pursuit of a fugitive wanted for armed robbery and aggravated assault.
17:30A week earlier, police say a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered a local convenience store, approached this customer, and demanded his car keys.
17:41When the customer didn't hand them over, the suspect snatched them away and fled the scene.
17:48But a little more than a week later, Officer Eddie Yu was flagged down by a clerk who told him they saw the suspect back in the store that day.
17:57Officer Yu began canvassing the area and soon spotted a man who matched the description of the suspect.
18:05Walk that way. Walk that way. Walk that way. Walk that way.
18:08Okay.
18:09The suspect continued to walk away, so Officer Yu moved quickly to detain him.
18:14Why don't you like me out for him?
18:15Sir, I'll tell you.
18:16Why don't you like me out for him?
18:17Sir, I'll tell you.
18:18What'd I do?
18:19Why don't you put handcuffs on the bus?
18:20I ain't doing that.
18:21I ain't doing that.
18:22I ain't got no good.
18:23Additional officers, including Sergeants Dennis Greenwood and Scott Perry, arrived and helped take the suspect into custody.
18:29Chill. Chill for a minute.
18:31But while Officer Yu was transporting him to jail, the suspect was somehow able to slip out of his cuffs and jump out of the cruiser.
18:43He got away, but officers searched the area and were able to locate him a short time later in this parking garage.
18:52Hey!
18:53Run right in! Run right in! Run right in!
18:58Now, as the foot chase continues, backup arrives.
19:05Stop! Stop! Stop!
19:08And officers find the suspect hiding behind this building.
19:13Give me something like this! Get out of the ground! Get out of the ground!
19:19Get out of the ground!
19:24Get out of the ground!
19:292680. We good. We good. We good.
19:31We good.
19:32The suspect was ID'd as 27-year-old Jaquan Blateney.
19:36Blateney already has previous convictions for auto theft and criminal trespass.
19:41He was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm, willful obstruction of law enforcement, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
19:53He's pled not guilty and his case is pending.
19:56If convicted on all charges, Blateney faces up to 60 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines.
20:04We appreciate you watching Punitives Caught on Take.
20:08I'm Tom Morris Jr. We'll see you next time.
20:11I'm wrong in bed.
20:14I'm wrong in bed.
20:16Gracias por ver el video.
