00:05This week, I'm at the C40 World Mayor's Summit in Brazil,

00:10a gathering of the most ambitious mayors working together to tackle the climate emergency.

00:16Ten years from the Paris Agreement, the goal of limiting warming 12.5 degrees is slipping through our fingers.

00:22As national leaders continue to dither and delay, city leaders are pushing ahead with bold action on the ground.

00:28Our task will be tough, it should be, but if we stay united, if we stay relentless,

00:36and if we work hard every single day, we too will feel that joy,

00:43knowing we did our job for future generations and for our planet.

00:50Now is not a moment to slow down, it's a moment to double down.

00:53We call on world leaders to match the pace our cities are setting.

00:57We're going to make sure our voices are heard loud and clear at COP.
