04 November- National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin
Transcript
00:00Morning. It's a very wet start to Tuesday for some parts of the UK.
00:05Heavy downpours through the night have continued to affect parts of western Britain,
00:09particularly through northwest England, especially soggy across Cumbria.
00:13That heavy rain also affecting parts of southern Scotland this morning,
00:17staying fairly wet too for Wales and another pulse of rain working into southwest England.
00:22We do have Met Office yellow warnings in place.
00:25The rain causing some problems on the roads, a lot of surface water, a lot of spray,
00:28maybe some impacts to public transport.
00:31There'll be some wet weather working its way across into northeastern parts of England too.
00:36Much of east Anglia in the southeast, bar the odd showers staying dry.
00:40And a good chunk of Northern Ireland, central and northern Scotland also staying dry,
00:44but there will be some showers in the far northwest where it'll also stay fairly blustery.
00:49A bit of brightness. We'll see the temperatures jumping up.
00:51It is not cold out there this morning and by this afternoon we'll be up to 15, 16, perhaps even 17 Celsius.
00:57But it won't feel all that pleasant with the rain continuing across Wales and southwest England.
01:03If anything, the rain getting a bit heavier later as the winds strengthen once more in the southwestern corner.
01:09And that rain will then again drift northwards across into parts of the Midlands,
01:13parts of northern England and then eastern England too.
01:16So further rain to come through this evening and overnight, certainly across England and Wales.
01:20Still through the night, a good part of Scotland, Northern Ireland will be dry.
01:24The wet weather in the far northwest should start to ease.
01:27And clearer skies here will allow it to turn a little colder, perhaps the night just gone down into single digits.
01:33But for the vast majority, it's another very mild night tonight.
01:38Temperatures holding up in double figures.
01:40Some parts of the south may stay in the teens.
01:43But it will also stay fairly soggy for Wednesday.
01:46Again, a cloudy day for the bulk of England and Wales.
01:49Further outbreaks of rain.
01:50Again, heavy rain at times.
01:51Wales and southwest England could cause some further disruption.
01:54Likely to spread back through tomorrow into parts of Northern Ireland, maybe southern Scotland.
01:59But again, much of the central belt northwards looking largely dry.
02:03Some sunny spells possible in northern Scotland.
02:05And also perhaps brightening up a little bit across east Anglia and the southeast.
02:09If it does, temperatures 15, 16, maybe 17 Celsius.
02:13And the wind should be a little lighter for most through Wednesday.
02:16Although it's still quite a noticeable breeze in the far southwest.
02:20And there's more wet and windy weather to come really through the rest of this week.
