03 November- National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin.
Transcript
00:00Evening. It's going to be a very mild Monday night and staying pretty mild for the next few days.
00:06Also staying fairly windy and at times pretty wet.
00:09Certainly some heavy rain tonight across western areas, particularly so across Cumbria as that rain builds up through the early hours.
00:15Could cause some problems as a Met Office yellow warning in place.
00:19It's staying pretty wet across much of West Wales and Cornwall too.
00:22Rain at times for Scotland and Northern Ireland, but generally here turning a bit drier through the early hours.
00:27Not much rain over the Midlands or eastern England, just staying cloudy and fairly gusty.
00:32But that wind is wafting up mild air, so temperatures in many urban areas will stay in the teens.
00:38Might just about dip down to single figures across northern Scotland.
00:42But here we should have some bright weather on Tuesday morning.
00:46Even some sunny spells, but a bit soggy for particularly Cumbria.
00:50Heavy rain here through the morning, as I say, could cause some issues.
00:55A lot of surface water and spray.
00:58And southern Scotland also seeing some heavy pulses of rain.
01:00And then Wales and southwest England see another push of heavy rain coming in through the day.
01:06And that could also cause a few issues across parts of southeast Wales and parts of Devon and Cornwall too.
01:13So we have Met Office yellow warnings in place.
01:15There will be a bit of that rain getting to eastern England, but again, much of east angle in the southeast, staying dry.
01:20And largely dry conditions for a good part of Scotland and Northern Ireland, although a few showers still likely in the far northwest.
01:27With some brightness in northern Scotland, 15 degrees is possible here.
01:30And further south, a bit of brightness could see highs of 15 or 16 too.
01:34And even where it's soggy in the southwest, temperatures still likely to be up to 14 or 15 degrees.
01:40It's quite murky around the coast with that wind strengthening here once more.
01:45Getting quite blustery through the evening.
01:47Further pulses of rain, a continued risk of some disruption from that wet weather as we go through into Wednesday morning.
01:54Elsewhere further north, generally staying largely dry.
01:58And with clearer skies across northern Scotland, turning a bit colder here for first thing on Wednesday morning.
02:02More widely down to single digits.
02:04But overall, still a very mild night further south with temperatures starting off at 11 or 12 Celsius.
02:12Wednesday then, another cloudy day for England and Wales.
02:14A greater chance of some rain across these central and eastern parts perhaps.
02:18And again, further pulses of heavy rain threatening Wales and southwest England.
02:23Moving up into parts of Northern Ireland and southern Scotland.
02:26But much of northern Scotland generally dry and fine on Wednesday.
02:29And the wind's a touch lighter here, although still quite blustery in the southwest.
02:34Still wafting up mild air.
02:35So again, any brightness.
02:37Temperatures getting up into the high teens potentially.
02:40And even where it's cloudy and wet, temperatures above average for the time of year.
02:44Further spells of wet and windy weather to come then really throughout this week.
