00:00It's Project Runway.
00:08I think reality has set in for me.
00:11My roommate, Jerry, was voted out.
00:13This is a competition, so any decision that's not swayed going home is the right decision,
00:18but I totally didn't expect that.
00:21It's got spirulina, alfalfa, barley grass, cut grass juice powder.
00:27Why would they believe it when we say we're supposed to jerk this crap?
00:30Oh, my God, I'm still here.
00:34Thank God.
00:35It's a serious competition, and there's truly no messing around here.
00:40I'm not a cow.
00:42I don't like grass, but I'm drinking.
00:44You guys ready to go to Parsons?
00:47I'm definitely excited about having immunity.
00:49I'm definitely innovative and creative, and I definitely expected to win that challenge.
00:53Here we go.
00:54Here we go.
00:55Let's go.
00:56Let's go.
00:56Let's get the show on the road.
00:58This is the nutrition.
01:11Hello.
01:12Hi, Heidi.
01:14Okay, before we talk about your next challenge, let's bring out your models.
01:18Let's go.
01:18Models, this is a competition for you, too.
01:35The model paired with a winning designer will receive a fashion spread in Elle magazine.
01:44Okay, for the first challenge, we assigned you girls, but now we're going to let you choose.
01:50Kelly, you were the winner of the first challenge, so you get first pick.
01:55Who is it going to be?
01:57I would love to stay with Jermaine.
01:58And the next one is Joe.
02:06Uh, Tapasio.
02:10I've decided to go with Tapasio.
02:13She looks like a million bucks.
02:15Blaine.
02:15Blaine.
02:16Paulina.
02:18Emily.
02:19I'm going to stay with Leslie.
02:22Keith.
02:23I'll go ahead and stick with Runa.
02:25Jennifer.
02:26I'd like Alex.
02:28Jennifer snatches up my model.
02:31What am I going to do?
02:32I am Saucy.
02:35Wesley.
02:36Melissa.
02:38Suede.
02:40Tia.
02:42Jarrell.
02:44Nicole.
02:47Kenley.
02:48Shannon.
02:51Stella.
02:52Kendall.
02:54Kato.
02:55Katarina.
03:00Terry.
03:00I'm going to stick with Savera.
03:06Daniel.
03:07It's Elena.
03:09That means Leanne, you have the last pick.
03:15Belle and Carolyn, one of you will be out.
03:20Leanne, who is it going to be?
03:21I'm really sorry, Belle, but Carolyn, you are awesome, so I have to stick with you.
03:27I'm sorry, Belle, that means you're out.
03:32Afirazi.
03:36Okay, before I give you your next challenge, let's bring out your new models.
03:50What's going on?
03:51It's a little suspicious.
03:52I hope you're happy with your new models, because for your next challenge, they will be your
04:00clients, and you will be making a cocktail dress for them.
04:04I'm stoked.
04:05This is going to be great.
04:06I love Paulina.
04:07She's golden.
04:08We're going to send all of you into the workroom, where Tim is waiting to fill you in on all the
04:13details.
04:14Good luck, and I see you on the runway.
04:18Sure.
04:19Let's go, ladies.
04:33Designers and models, may I ask you to gather around, please?
04:36As Heidi said, for this challenge, your models will serve as your clients for a cocktail dress.
04:46This challenge is about the young, glamorous woman.
04:50What Heidi didn't tell you is that you will be using green fabrics for your dress.
04:55Yay!
04:57Environmentally responsible textiles.
05:00Yeah, very cool.
05:01A green fabric is a natural textile.
05:05Bamboo, hemp, jersey.
05:08I always use green materials.
05:10It's just a lot gentler for the environment.
05:13And there's more.
05:15And it's a project runway first.
05:19Your models will do the shopping.
05:22Oh.
05:23Oh, God.
05:25Oh, great.
05:26I'm going to have somebody that probably doesn't know much about fabrics to begin with go pick
05:33me out some fabric.
05:34You got a taste, right?
05:37You better get some good stuff.
05:40My designer is Kinley, and it was like, you're going to have this model shop for my fabric?
05:44You've got to be kidding me.
05:45Her face was just like complete disgust.
05:48Oh, my God.
05:49Oh, my God.
05:50Models, you have a budget of $75.
05:54Designers, stay put.
05:56So, models, follow me right now.
05:59We're going.
06:01We have no control over what they're choosing.
06:04And I'm screaming to Leslie as she's running for the door.
06:07Don't forget closures.
06:09Semperors, buttons, elastic.
06:11Work it out, girls.
06:12Work it out.
06:13Bye.
06:14Good luck, ladies.
06:15You have half an hour to shop, and your time starts now.
06:26Oh, my God.
06:29I'm so nervous.
06:30Can you show me where some of the more organic fabrics are?
06:34All of these?
06:35Wow.
06:36So, all of these?
06:37With the ties.
06:38Is there anything more, like, silky?
06:40We were pretty much all running around, like, chickens with our heads cut off, like, trying
06:43to figure out which color would look good with this and trims and how much we needed?
06:47I have no idea.
06:49I'm looking for, like, color.
06:51How much is the yard?
06:52Hmm.
06:53You want to see what else we have?
06:54Yeah.
06:54I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to grab.
06:58I know absolutely nothing about fashion design.
07:01Just two of it.
07:03What about this?
07:04A lot of the girls will have the same material.
07:07That's going to be a challenge for the designers because they've got to make it look different.
07:11I want some of this.
07:12Okay.
07:12Perfect.
07:13Oh, that's so pretty.
07:14That's perfect.
07:15Yeah, that's perfect.
07:16I'm not really thinking what my designer may possibly like.
07:19Yeah, just cut it for me.
07:21I kept in mind what I liked and what would look good on me.
07:26A dollar?
07:27I found some really cool peacock feathers, so whatever will match that is what I'm looking for.
07:33I really like the deep, rich colors, you know?
07:36I'm kind of worried that she got the same fabric.
07:39There's something, like, I forgot.
07:41Right.
07:41It's in here.
07:41It's in here.
07:42Models, time's up.
07:44Wow, 30 minutes goes fast, doesn't it?
07:46All right, let's go back to Parsons.
07:49Thank you, Moved.
07:50They're an enthusiastic bunch.
07:56Designers, your models and I are back.
07:58My biggest fear is that she's going to come back with remnants of nonsense.
08:03You will have half an hour to caucus with your model, and you will have until midnight tonight to complete your cocktail dress.
08:11All right, I am sending in your models.
08:14Yeah, nothing raggedy.
08:15Oh, she didn't bring anything raggedy.
08:16Come on in.
08:23All right.
08:24Um, this I can't use.
08:28How many yardage did you get?
08:30I'm a little freaked out because one of the fabrics was this jersey knit hot pink fabric.
08:38Jersey is just not right for a cocktail dress.
08:41This is jersey fabric.
08:42This is a t-shirt.
08:43Did everyone get something different?
08:45Let's see.
08:46Um, layered.
08:48The colors, the champagne color and a light peach color.
08:52Those two fabrics don't really go together.
08:54I'm trying to think of a way that we could layer these.
08:56So on top of that, she got me peacock feathers.
08:58What am I going to do with peacock feathers and peacock trim?
09:01Yes.
09:02Oh, we got this.
09:03Whoa, whoa, whoa.
09:05You better do it, girl.
09:06Add some thread and everything.
09:08You did so good.
09:09Do you know what this is?
09:11What kind of fabric?
09:11I don't really like the fabrics that my model chose.
09:15She brought this disgusting green color along with brown and just I don't think the two of them are going to work together.
09:21How much is here?
09:21How many yards is this?
09:23I just wish I had more fabric and fabric that was a little more forgiving.
09:28Nothing.
09:29Very sexy, sexy.
09:30And the zipper will just be zip.
09:32So do you want fullness?
09:33Is that what you want?
09:34There's a really nice silk and hemp blend as well as a red jersey.
09:40Maybe I start it like in a swirl or something over here.
09:43Yeah.
09:44There is not a ton of green fashion, so I'm really trying to make it sexy, make it shake, and still put suede into it.
09:53Everything's super short right now.
09:56There's a reason they're asking us to consult with our models, and it's not just to chit-chat.
10:01It's to listen to what they like.
10:04You can attach a piece of this as a drape because this is going to drape a lot.
10:08Kendall is a very earthy, organic kind of girl.
10:12Low drape in the back, yes.
10:14Yeah.
10:14She wanted something beachy and free and flowy, but that's not my design aesthetic.
10:22I'm very urban, and that reflects in my design.
10:25Like, I like form-fitted stuff, and that's what I do, like tough-looking stuff.
10:30Never, ever have I practiced anything like this in my life.
10:36Designers, time is up.
10:39Models, I need you to leave with me right now.
10:42This is the key words, elegant and classy.
10:46Off we go.
10:46I have absolutely no strategy.
10:49I'm just confused.
10:51This is not what I do.
10:57Coming up on Project Runway.
10:59This is the outside of the dress.
11:00Oh, this is the outside of the dress?
11:04Oh.
11:05I love the green aspect of this challenge.
11:14The amount of dyes that the fashion industry pumps into the oceans and rivers of the world
11:18is pretty gnarly, and as a designer, I'd love to do whatever I can do to reduce that impact.
11:24I hope Heidi likes it.
11:25It's pink.
11:26She said it.
11:27She likes bold, bright colors.
11:28Not only are our models, our clients, but they get to pick out the fabric.
11:33It's just going to be so pretty.
11:34My model wants to dress to be girly, but still kind of pretty sophisticated with different
11:39color paneling on the side.
11:41I have to prove myself to Darth Vader.
11:43Who's Darth Vader?
11:44Heidi.
11:45Okay.
11:45We call her Darthlicious.
11:46Why is that?
11:47Because on the outside, you know, she's all like shiny and like all put together, but
11:52on the inside, she's crazy.
11:55I just wish I had more yardage in the brown.
11:58I know.
11:59I only got two yards.
12:00I don't need the green.
12:01I don't think I'm going to use it.
12:03I'm really nervous only having one day for this challenge.
12:06My model really wanted a very tailored cocktail dress, and satin shows every mistake.
12:11I need more time to try out the materials and see what's actually feasible with them.
12:16Anyone doing a black dress?
12:17Mine.
12:18You have the same black as me?
12:20I like this black, though.
12:21A lot of designers have the same fabric, but we don't have to use all the fabrics,
12:27so I went with this champagne-colored organic silk.
12:32It's just all about fit with this thing.
12:40I love my girl.
12:42Katarina.
12:43She's Puerto Rican.
12:44I'm African.
12:45Women from these countries are shapely.
12:47We have hips.
12:47We have butts.
12:48So I wanted to do a dress that would enhance those features.
12:52Look at you, drapey draperson, but I'm not.
12:55I don't want to do something I've never done before.
12:57It'll look half-ass.
12:59Kendall wanted something flowy, and I'm not doing that.
13:03I want to do something like this because she brought me this.
13:06That's cool.
13:07I'll make a really cool urban-looking, you know, like me, tough.
13:12This is what I do.
13:13I do, like, slick.
13:15The judges need to know who I am as a designer,
13:18not what the model wants to wear that day.
13:21It'll be way different than that.
13:26Suede decided to cut out all these strips.
13:30Suede loves that.
13:31And I take all these frickin' bias strips to the machine
13:34and start sewing.
13:36It is going to be a long night for Suede.
13:40Suede's a bisexual Sagittarius
13:42and loves long walks on the beach
13:45and really loves working with small pieces of fabric.
13:48Suede likes to talk about himself in third person, doesn't it?
13:50I know.
13:51I love that.
13:52I know I'm going to go home and cry.
13:53Suede's really sad.
13:55That's great, dude.
13:56Suede's really sad.
13:58Suede's going to go home and cry all night long.
14:03Leanne likes Suede,
14:04but Suede needs to stop talking in third person.
14:10How's it coming?
14:11How's yours going?
14:12Don't know yet.
14:13Wesley, Joe, and I all have the same fabric.
14:20So in order to differentiate my design from either of theirs,
14:25I'm going to create new shapes
14:27and add to my dress to make it stand out from the rest.
14:32I was worried about Leanne.
14:35Leanne is doing all these circle things,
14:38hanging off of it.
14:39It's starting to look like too much.
14:45Do I look sailorific?
14:48I am pleased with how my outfit is coming along.
14:52Leslie has a very clean, classic, all-American style,
14:55and I have a more funky, underground, edgy look,
14:58so it'll be interesting to see how the two come together.
15:01Oh, mother of God.
15:03When I saw the pleating on Wesley's dress,
15:08I thought the pleating kind of looked similar to my dress.
15:11So I kind of got concerned that possibly
15:13they might say our dresses look alike.
15:15Look at this dress.
15:17Yeah.
15:18Look at my dress.
15:20Like, what the hell?
15:21I don't think it's the same thing.
15:24Same concept.
15:25I mean, am I paranoid or do I have a valid point?
15:28I don't think it'll look the same at all.
15:30I mean, paranoid.
15:31You really are.
15:32For people to be even looking at what other people are doing
15:35while they're working is nonsense
15:37because that distracts you
15:38and puts you on another road of, like, thought and process.
15:43I think everybody should just keep their eyes to their own design.
15:50Hi, everybody.
15:52Kenley, how are you?
15:53Hi, Ken.
15:54Hi.
15:54Good.
15:55This is what my model got me.
15:56It's pretty.
15:57And then she got me this big, huge belt,
16:00but I cut it down and I'm going to use the back
16:02and hand sew it to make it one continuous belt.
16:05That gives it a hard edge.
16:07She's got an edge, but a very mature look.
16:10Are you concerned about time?
16:11Not really.
16:12All right, good.
16:13Carry on, Kenley.
16:16Kato.
16:16So, from what I can tell, this is going to be a very pretty dress.
16:19How does it have your mark in it?
16:21The way the dark's curved on the hair
16:23and really the way it's going to look like coming from a...
16:25Yeah, but Kato, if this is bright and works well,
16:27we're not going to see those darts.
16:29This is the outside of the dress.
16:30Oh, this is the outside of the dress?
16:31This is the outside of the dress.
16:34Oh.
16:36Hello.
16:36Now I get it.
16:37These are all showing.
16:38Yeah.
16:39Everything about this has to be perfection
16:42or you're going to be dealing with a hot mess.
16:44I'm going to leave you alone.
16:45Work, work, work, work.
16:47It's Wade.
16:48Hi.
16:49Hi.
16:49Talk to me.
16:50I'm a little crazy.
16:51Crazy how?
16:53Crazy doing strips.
16:54Okay.
16:54I have this to finish filling
16:57and I have a tulle skirt
16:59that's going to go down about here
17:00and then a circle skirt that goes over it.
17:03Okay.
17:04Are you concerned about tying them?
17:05Of course I'm concerned about tying them.
17:07You need to follow your own vision
17:10in all this and listen to your own voice.
17:12But I'm really excited by this.
17:16It means a lot.
17:18Wesley.
17:18Hi, Tim.
17:19So talk to me about what you're doing.
17:20I'm making a fitted cocktail dress for my model
17:22that's going to have a cutout back.
17:24Here, it's going to snap here
17:26and have a zipper down the back.
17:28Just make certain that the fit is fantastic
17:30because if it isn't done perfectly,
17:32you know what's going to happen
17:33with those harsh runway lights.
17:35Everything's going to show.
17:36Okay.
17:37All right.
17:37Work hard, Wesley.
17:38I will.
17:39Thank you very much.
17:41Leanne.
17:42Hi, Tim.
17:44So you have the same fabric as Wesley.
17:46I do.
17:46It's a very different look, that's for sure.
17:48So this is an armhole.
17:50This goes over her shoulder.
17:52Okay.
17:52And what happens in the back?
17:53I'm probably going to do a few more
17:56of these, like, little floopy things.
17:59I mean, I'll just say you have an awful lot going on,
18:01so I'm worried about you.
18:04Bring an editing eye to this.
18:07Don't force it.
18:08Just resolve it.
18:10Tim told me that I have a lot to think about,
18:12but I have so many ideas,
18:15and I just love the way that it looks,
18:17so I'm willing to take the chance.
18:19All right, everybody,
18:20I have two important announcements to make.
18:23There will be no immunity for this challenge.
18:26Instead, the winner will have their dress manufactured
18:29and sold by bluefly.com.
18:34Pretty thrilling, huh?
18:36I'm actually okay with nobody getting immunity
18:38because the prize that we're getting
18:40is way better than immunity.
18:41And since this challenge is about young, beautiful women,
18:45it's only fitting that one of Hollywood's
18:47most glamorous young stars will be our guest judge.
18:50I love it.
18:51And you'll find out who tomorrow.
18:54It's important to make an impression on young Hollywood
18:57because those are ultimately who we want our clients to be.
19:01I'm going to leave you for the night.
19:03The judge's expectations are extremely high.
19:07In other words, the stakes couldn't be higher.
19:09So, deadline is midnight,
19:11and I don't even have this garment covered with the strips.
19:14I've got a lot of work to do.
19:17Coming up on Project Runway.
19:19Daniel.
19:20Yeah.
19:20You have five minutes.
19:21Okay.
19:22I'm hoping just to finish my garment.
19:29We have 45 minutes.
19:33I still have a lot of work to get done.
19:36I'm hoping just to finish my garment.
19:37Everyone's kind of losing it.
19:40Everybody just really has a lot to do
19:42to get it done in time.
19:44Still got the hem to do.
19:46Everyone's trying to finish.
19:48I'm very nervous at this point.
19:49My model didn't necessarily pick the best organic materials
19:52for me to use,
19:53and I think I'm psyching myself out.
19:56This is brutal.
19:57It's not just me having a crappy night.
19:59Twelve minutes to twelve, everybody.
20:02So, get your last stitch,
20:05your last zip.
20:07This is ridiculous.
20:10This is fabric that's, like,
20:12I never even go to shop for stuff like this.
20:15I just want to stick to my leather.
20:17What?
20:18Leather.
20:19She is so ridiculous.
20:22What is she talking about?
20:24Oh, she wishes every challenge was made of leather.
20:27I want to just sew leather,
20:29burn it up,
20:30dye it up,
20:31grommet it,
20:32pyramid it,
20:33stud it,
20:33spike it.
20:34I want to make my leather.
20:36My cat's leather.
20:37I like to watch leather TV.
20:39I would make a leather dress like this,
20:41but it'd have a whole different vibe.
20:44From my husband's leather?
20:46All my kids came out of me for leather.
20:49They're all named leather.
20:50What are they saying?
20:52They're making fun of you
20:52and you're saying you make leather.
20:54What, Blaine?
20:55He's twelve years old.
20:57What does he know?
20:58Come here, Blaine.
21:00Wear your diaper.
21:02Wait, could you guys hear me in there?
21:03I'm like,
21:04who are you talking about leather?
21:05What do you know?
21:06Remove that piece of leather
21:08from the center of your teeth there.
21:09You look like you got a gap between your eyes.
21:11Oh, I love your leather face.
21:13Oh, thank you.
21:25I'm making Daniel's bed for him,
21:27so I'm just taking care of it for him
21:29because he's my buddy.
21:31I feel confident about my garment,
21:33but I need to finish it.
21:36That would be the most important thing,
21:38if we could finish our garment.
21:39It's elimination day again.
21:41A lot of people are nervous.
21:42We have to get this all done ASAP.
21:45I have so much work to do.
21:48Flash nails, come on.
22:03Oh, s***.
22:03How did that come undone?
22:05I ripped the pull off my zipper
22:06after I put my zipper in.
22:08Do you know any way to get it back on?
22:09I don't have any tricks.
22:11I do need time to finish my garment.
22:13It's going to be cutting it
22:14to the very last second.
22:16I'm going to get a heart attack here.
22:18Oh.
22:18People are really freaking out.
22:20Zippers are breaking,
22:21so it's kind of making me feel good
22:22because I'm like, okay,
22:23at least I'm not, like,
22:23the only one that's somewhat worried.
22:25How's it coming, Leanne?
22:26I'm feeling really confident
22:29about my dress.
22:31I really like what I've done.
22:32Where's my model?
22:33I need her help.
22:35Good morning, designers.
22:36Good morning.
22:36How is everybody?
22:37Dandy lions.
22:38Good.
22:39Good.
22:40Looking around this room,
22:41there is a ton of work to be done.
22:43You were supposed to have finished last night.
22:45That clearly hasn't happened.
22:47I have confidence that you'll pull this off,
22:48but you're turning me into a wreck.
22:50So, make it work.
22:53You can do it.
22:54I know you can do it.
22:55Si se puede.
22:56All right, I'm sending in your models.
22:58Thanks, Tim.
23:01Hi, Liciousness.
23:02How you doing?
23:02How are you doing?
23:03This is going to look gorgeous.
23:07Oh, it looks great with this, though.
23:09Thanks.
23:12It's okay.
23:13The collar is going to be there.
23:15Okay, no problem.
23:16At first, I was having second thoughts
23:18about my outfit.
23:20But I love it, so I'm feeling great.
23:22I really like it.
23:24Me, too.
23:24It's cute.
23:25Regardless of me just wanting to do what I want to do,
23:29when Kendall saw the dress,
23:31her whole face lit up,
23:32and she gave her beautiful smile.
23:34I like that it's not 100% skin-tight,
23:38because that would have ruined it.
23:39Yeah.
23:40I think it was a good decision
23:41that she went with what she wanted to,
23:43because it turned out a lot nicer,
23:45and I was really proud of her.
23:46You got to go, girl.
23:47Go.
23:48Get your hair and makeup done.
23:49Go.
23:52So, look, I'm going for it today.
23:54It's very ethnic, African.
24:00Definitely the hostess with the most of us.
24:02Daniel, you have five minutes.
24:17Okay.
24:18Are you going to be all right?
24:19Mm-hmm.
24:20How you doing, Wesley?
24:21You got that panic look on your face.
24:24You want to spin it for me?
24:25I kind of noticed that Wesley's model
24:28could have fit a little bit better into her dress.
24:31Time is not on my side for this challenge.
24:33I'm a little worried about the fit,
24:35just because the fabric's going to show all the mistakes.
24:38The looks on some of the designers' faces,
24:39especially team ugly brown fabric.
24:42It's kind of a look of concern,
24:44and I think justly so.
24:48Oh, don't do that.
24:50There's a chance I could go home,
24:52because we just never know.
24:53I'll just be happy being safe today.
24:55Oh, yeah, I'm moving out the safety pins.
24:58We'll try that belt, but I'm not sure.
25:01The dress is done.
25:02I totally am confident that the judges
25:04are going to love this dress,
25:05because I have pushed myself.
25:07Sway will be rocking it.
25:12I am hustling as fast as I can,
25:14and I finished the dress,
25:17and I'm just crossing my fingers
25:19that it's going to work out on the wrong way.
25:21You look great.
25:22All right, designers, models,
25:24this is it.
25:25We're going down to the runway.
25:27Remember, hands in the pocket,
25:29and arch back.
25:30Okay, you look gorgeous, okay?
25:31Follow me.
25:32Come, come.
25:36All right, thank you.
25:39Coming up on Project Runway.
25:41I think shiny, tight, and short
25:44is the quickest way to look cheap.
25:46Welcome to the runway.
25:58As you know, in fashion,
25:59one day you're in,
26:00and the next day, you're out.
26:02Your challenge was to design a cocktail dress
26:05for some glamorous young clients,
26:08your models.
26:09We asked you to make it from green fabrics,
26:12and we decided to mix it up this time
26:14and let your models do the shopping for you.
26:17The winning look will be manufactured
26:19and sold by bluefly.com.
26:23All right, let's meet the judges.
26:25First, we have top American designer,
26:27Michael Kors.
26:28Hey, guys.
26:29I'm going to come.
26:30Next, we have Nina Garcia,
26:32editor-at-large for Elle magazine.
26:34And you have probably noticed
26:36that we have an empty chair over there.
26:39We have a special guest judge for today.
26:42Let's bring her out.
26:55When I saw it was Natalie Portman,
26:57I totally freaked out.
27:00I was so excited.
27:02I just about peed my pants.
27:05I would like to welcome Natalie Portman,
27:07Oscar-nominated actress
27:08and environmental activist
27:10who recently launched Take Us On,
27:13her own vegan shoe collection.
27:15I'm so happy to be here.
27:17This is one of my favorite shows.
27:19I'm like psyched.
27:20She's so adorable, and she's so tiny.
27:22I could carry her around on my hands.
27:24I'm excited that you guys are participating
27:26in eco-fashion
27:27because that's definitely the challenge
27:28for our generation.
27:30Natalie Portman started a green shoe
27:32line called Take Us On
27:33using faux leathers and things like that.
27:36It's really cool.
27:37We will score your designs
27:38as they come down the runway.
27:40One of you will be named the winner.
27:42One of you
27:43will be out.
27:46Let's start the show.
27:47I think that my outfit embraced elegance.
27:55It embraced my point of view.
27:58It looks like she's ready
27:59for a great cocktail party.
28:01I'm stoked.
28:04I was really proud
28:06with the way my outfit turned out.
28:08She's my muse.
28:09She's beautiful,
28:09and I love it.
28:11I like the outfit.
28:17They're just things like the fit
28:19that I wish I could have worked out,
28:21but I like that he's in green fabrics.
28:27I think that my outfit
28:28comes across as sexy.
28:30It comes across as young,
28:31and it's not made out of
28:32that hideous brown fabric.
28:33I think I'm good.
28:34I think the dress
28:40looks really floaty and pretty,
28:42and that's kind of
28:43what I was going for,
28:44so that makes me happy.
28:49I can't believe
28:50that I put it together,
28:51and everything's finally done.
28:53My model looks beautiful,
28:55kind of like Audrey Hepburn.
28:57I'm totally happy with the result.
29:01I think I nailed this one.
29:03I think it's glamorous,
29:04I think it's young,
29:05and I think it's partying,
29:07and it fits her like a glove.
29:13I love this dress.
29:15It's definitely on Hollywood.
29:16It would really look great
29:18on the red carpet.
29:19I took these green fabrics
29:21to the next level.
29:24I'm feeling great
29:25about using green fabrics.
29:27It looks chic.
29:28It looks beautiful.
29:30It's got you,
29:31and I love it.
29:34She looks great.
29:37It's just not something
29:38I guess I would typically do,
29:39but I'm glad that, you know,
29:40I had the opportunity
29:41to do something
29:42a little bit out of my realm.
29:43I am just really proud
29:50of what I've done,
29:51and using green materials
29:53is modern,
29:55so I think my modern design
29:57is going to be a winner.
29:59I feel really positive,
30:05really happy,
30:06because it's totally me,
30:09and my model really loved the design.
30:16Watching my design go down the runway,
30:18it looks so good,
30:20and then I peek over at the judges,
30:22and it seems like they're responding well,
30:23so that's a good thing.
30:27I'm still really excited
30:28about the garment that I made,
30:29even though it's a little short.
30:31I'm wishing I had a little more fabric,
30:33but I think it's pretty.
30:38I love her dress,
30:39and I would wear the dress like that.
30:40She looks really chic,
30:41and I'm glad I was able
30:43to take a green fabric
30:44and make it elegant.
30:45I'm actually happy with it.
30:46We've scored your designs.
30:54Will the following designers
30:55please step forward?
30:57Keith.
30:59Terry.
31:01Jero.
31:03Jennifer.
31:06Daniel.
31:08Joe.
31:10Kelly.
31:13Lane.
31:15Emily.
31:16If I have called your name,
31:22congratulations.
31:25Your scores have qualified you
31:26to move on to the next challenge.
31:28You can leave the runway.
31:37The six remaining designers
31:38have the highest and the lowest scores.
31:40One of you will be named the winner,
31:42and one of you will be out.
31:45Let's bring out your models.
31:56Kenley.
31:57Hi.
31:58Hi.
31:58Tell us, what did you do?
32:00This is the fabric my model chose.
32:02It's organic silk.
32:03I wanted to keep it simple and clean
32:06to complement her.
32:07Something a little bit more classic
32:08with the length.
32:09Do you like it?
32:10I absolutely love it.
32:13I like this dress.
32:14The streamlined silhouette
32:16and the tiny detail in the waist
32:19and the high collar.
32:20Actually, I had to hand-sew this in.
32:23So it's a couture cocktail dress.
32:26I think she looks gorgeous.
32:28I think she looks so elegant,
32:29and it definitely stood out, too,
32:31as something that was, like,
32:32a really adult, glamorous dress.
32:35I think the sharpness of the black at the waist
32:38is great, balances out the collar.
32:40Mm-hmm.
32:41It is the most overused word in fashion.
32:44It's chic.
32:45Thanks.
32:46Wesley, tell us a little bit about your design.
32:50It was really limited
32:51in the amount of fabric that I had to make.
32:55What I had initially had in mind
32:56was just something more voluminous.
32:58So I made more of a fitted garment.
33:00I like the little bow tie.
33:01I think it's really cute.
33:03But I think it doesn't fit exactly.
33:06I have to say,
33:06I give you one of my low scores.
33:09It looks completely overworked.
33:11The seam at the bottom is completely wavy.
33:14For satin to work,
33:16it has to kind of look like
33:17human hands didn't touch it.
33:19And this looks like
33:2020 sets of human hands touched it.
33:22And I think in this instance,
33:24I mean, I love leggy clothes,
33:25but it's crazy short.
33:29I think shiny, tight, and short
33:31is the quickest way to look cheap.
33:38Stella, tell us about your cocktail dress.
33:40My model came in with this fabric
33:42and two other jerseys,
33:43and I decided to work with this fabric.
33:46I just felt that I would do
33:47something simple, plain,
33:49make it modern with like one sleeve
33:51and fun and flirty
33:52with the lace-ups on the sides.
33:54I like the lacing detail.
33:56And somehow,
33:57you got your personal attitude
33:59into the dress,
34:00which I think is so important.
34:03Would you wear that?
34:04Yeah, I would.
34:06Definitely fits really nicely.
34:08It's very flattering.
34:09I'm really not into asymmetrical stuff personally,
34:13but it's really nicely done.
34:15It's much improved from last time.
34:21Kato.
34:22Unfortunately, she did really well at the store.
34:25I really was happy with the fabrics
34:27that my model got.
34:28She's shapely,
34:28and I wanted a dress
34:30that would kind of accentuate those curves.
34:32I think the line at the top
34:34is really nice and flattering,
34:36but the things on the side
34:37almost looks inside out to me.
34:39Like, it almost looks like
34:40the pieces inside your jeans or something.
34:43Can I see the bottom?
34:45It's off balance.
34:47It looks like she has wings.
34:49Listen, I love a curvy girl,
34:51but trust me,
34:52even curvy girls,
34:54they don't want fins off their butt.
35:01Suede.
35:02Well, my model, Tio,
35:04picked me up the same satin
35:06that a lot of other people had.
35:08What I did is I cut bias strips,
35:10and I created a pattern.
35:14I would wear that.
35:15I love it.
35:15I think it's so sweet
35:16and fun and young
35:18and really unique and special.
35:21I really, really love it.
35:22I'd be honored if you wear it.
35:23Oh, thanks.
35:24Well, thank you.
35:26I liked it very much.
35:28It is creative.
35:29I mean, I know you worked.
35:31I did.
35:32And you thought about it.
35:33I also like the fact
35:34that you have the crazy satin
35:37that everyone has,
35:38but by manipulating it
35:40and working it,
35:42you turned it into a new fabric.
35:44I think it's also
35:45the right dress on her.
35:47Tia,
35:48is this a dress that you wanted?
35:49Yes.
35:50Do you love it?
35:50Yes.
35:51You would wear it?
35:52Yep.
35:52If I were 10 years younger,
35:54I would wear it too.
35:55Mm-hmm.
35:56Thank you very much.
35:59Lien.
36:00Carolyn purchased the hemp
36:03and silk blend fabric for me.
36:06She likes short things,
36:08but I still wanted to make her look
36:10elegant and sophisticated.
36:12Carolyn,
36:13is this the dress that you wanted?
36:14It's definitely not what I pictured.
36:19It looks a little bit like Peter Pan,
36:22like with the hat.
36:23Would you turn around?
36:24Can we have a look in the back?
36:26Petals here,
36:27petals there,
36:28asymmetrical falling off.
36:29It's got a pocket,
36:30it's got a piece,
36:31it's got a panel.
36:32It's five dresses in one.
36:35It's all over the place.
36:38Okay,
36:38we've heard what you had to say.
36:40We're going to have a little chat,
36:41and then I'm going to call you back
36:42if you can do it to the runway.
36:53Who's going to win this challenge?
36:55Let's start with Stella.
36:56It fit well.
36:57Yeah.
36:58Yeah.
36:58It was made well,
36:59and it fit well.
37:00And so much of this was ill-fitting.
37:02Also,
37:03the dress reflects a little bit
37:04on who she is.
37:05Yeah,
37:05no question.
37:06It's a good one.
37:06Well,
37:06let's be honest.
37:07Biker Chick Chic in a cocktail dress,
37:10it's hard to get that in there,
37:11and she did.
37:14What about suede?
37:15It was the right dress on the right girl.
37:18I so appreciate the work that went into weaving those strips.
37:21It looked effortless.
37:22It didn't look of a work to me.
37:24And the tool could really look like,
37:26you know,
37:26ballerina Barbie or something,
37:28but he used it just right.
37:31Kinley,
37:32she was the only one that used that fabric correctly.
37:36It can look cheap,
37:37or it can look elegant,
37:38and she went the elegant way.
37:40She has such a great vibe.
37:42It's like some broad out of the 40s came up,
37:45which I think is a lot of what being a designer is.
37:48You have to have a personality.
37:49Absolutely.
37:49And be presentable.
37:52Okay,
37:52let's go to the ones we didn't like.
37:54Wesley.
37:55Too tight,
37:55too short.
37:56He got way overwrought,
37:58and he just tortured the fabric.
38:00I didn't like it at all.
38:01I mean,
38:01there was nothing that I liked about it.
38:03If it didn't have all that jazz going on in the bottom,
38:06then the top could have been a very cute,
38:08sort of conservative little dress.
38:10His ambition got the better of him, definitely.
38:15Cut toe.
38:17Big disappointment.
38:18I didn't like it at all.
38:19It looked like it had fins.
38:21And I had higher hopes for her,
38:22to be honest with you.
38:24I think there was something interesting
38:25about the outside darts,
38:27but it's kind of a pure mistake
38:29when you take fabric
38:30and try to make something out of it
38:31that you shouldn't make out of it.
38:33Leigh Ann,
38:36I do think she has ideas,
38:38but it was like all over the place,
38:40and she didn't have the right balance.
38:42The way she used the fabric, too,
38:44those pieces on top of the draping,
38:46I didn't really love the way it looked.
38:48You can learn the process of how to edit.
38:50You know, judgment is part of the design process.
38:57Okay, let's bring out the designers.
39:03The six of you represent the best and the worst.
39:15One of you will be named the winner,
39:16and one of you will be out.
39:27One of you will be named the winner,
39:29and one of you will be out.
39:33Stella,
39:34you're in.
39:37You can leave the runway.
39:41And now for the winner.
39:45Congratulations.
39:47Suede.
39:49Thank you very much.
39:50Your dress will be sold on bluefly.com.
39:53You can leave the runway.
39:55Thank you very much.
39:55Congrats.
39:56You can leave the runway.
40:00Yeah!
40:01Suede rocked it!
40:04Natalie Portman loves my dress.
40:07I could not be happier.
40:08This is such a high right now.
40:11All I can think about
