00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuningbog on the exciting topic of the upcoming Erk flying car.
00:07A real highlight of technology, which is set to be delivered in 2026.
00:12After decades of development work, the market is now imminent.
00:17However, this extraordinary vehicle is not for every budget.
00:22The Slovakian company Klein Vision, founded by Stefan Klein,
00:26has been working on the vision of a flying car since the early 1990s.
00:32Now, at the Living Legends of Aviation Gala Dinner in Los Angeles,
00:36Klein has presented initial renderings of the production version.
00:42The aim is to receive approval from the aviation authorities in Europe and the USA by autumn 2025.
00:48The Erk is finally set to be available in spring 2026.
00:52The Erk is an innovative hybrid of a car and a small aircraft that can be transformed from a road vehicle into an aircraft in less than two minutes at the push of a button.
01:03Anyone who wants to use it needs two licenses.
01:06A driver's license for road traffic and a private pilot's license for flight mode.
01:10As a car, the two-seater Erk measures 1.5 meters in length, 2 meters in width and 1.8 meters in height.
01:20This means it fits easily into a normal parking space.
01:25In flight mode, the vehicle is extended to 7 meters in length and 8.2 meters in wingspan
01:30by means of folded-out wings and an extended tail with double vertical stabilizer and additional wing.
01:37Visually, the rear is reminiscent of a racing car, particularly due to the striking wing design.
01:44The Erk CFT is powered by a rear propeller.
01:48For flight, the engine is decoupled from the axle and connected to the propeller.
01:52This is a conventional internal combustion engine.
01:55While the prototype still uses a 140-horsepower BMW motorcycle engine,
02:01the production version is to be equipped with a six-cylinder engine from the South African manufacturer Adept Air Motive.
02:08Optionally with 280, 320 or 340 horsepower.
02:14On the road, the Erk CFT reaches speeds of almost 200 kilometers per hour.
02:19In the air, it can even reach almost 250 kilometers per hour.
02:23The cruising speed is around 200 kilometers per hour.
02:30With a fuel volume of around 160 L distributed over three tanks,
02:34the Erk is expected to have a range of around 800 kilometers on the road and around 1,000 kilometers in the air.
02:44The current prototype completed its maiden flight in 2020 and received its airworthiness certificate in 2022.
02:50According to the manufacturer, the Erk has since completed over 500 takeoffs and more than 170 flight hours.
02:59An earlier prototype crashed in 2015, but the accident was minor.
03:07Klein Vision plans to deliver the first production vehicles in the first quarter of 2026.
03:11The price will be between around 740,000 euros and around 1,000 euros,
03:17depending on the engine and cockpit equipment.
03:22As always, you can find the link to read the article in the video description.
03:41For more, I'll just drop in and consider how po· raucing.
03:56Do you want toroc effort?
03:59We want to share the table as well.
