00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today, we're going to talk about a fascinating topic that almost sounds like science fiction.
00:08The Switchblade Flying Car from Samson Sky.
00:12The US manufacturer has now revealed exciting details about its new manufacturing process and the Builder Assist program,
00:19which allows customers to build their own flying car.
00:23Faster, easier and cheaper than ever before.
00:25At the heart of the innovative manufacturing concept is the production of carbon fiber body parts,
00:33which can now be manufactured eight times faster and at half the price of conventional methods.
00:41This is made possible by a newly developed process that, according to the company,
00:45not only reduces production costs but also allows the price of the Switchblade to be kept competitive.
00:55This is supported by the Builder Assist program, which helps customers meet the legally required 51% build ratio
01:01for experimental aircraft, without any prior knowledge or craftsmanship.
01:09Precision production is carried out using computer-controlled machines,
01:12while final assembly is carried out by specialists from Samson Sky.
01:17Thanks to this system, the originally planned construction time of over three weeks
01:21could be reduced to just one week in the Build Center.
01:26This clearly sets Samson apart from other manufacturers,
01:29whose programs often take weeks or even months.
01:34CEO and inventor of the Switchblade Sam Bowfield emphasizes that the construction process
01:39not only saves time and money, but also makes owning a flying car a personal experience.
01:46Quite like a true Tony Stark moment.
01:48More than 2,400 interested parties from more than 50 countries and all 50 U.S. states
01:55have already placed reservations for the Switchblade flying car.
02:02The first deliveries are planned for 2026.
02:05The company is therefore preparing for high-volume production
02:08with a production system that is not only efficient, but also sustainable.
02:11The new manufacturing process significantly reduces waste and the carbon footprint,
02:20thus providing a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional methods.
02:27The Switchblade is a road-legal hybrid sports car that offers impressive performance
02:31both on the ground and in the air.
02:35It can be conveniently parked in a garage.
02:37From there, it can be driven on regular roads and highways to a nearby airport,
02:44where the wings and tail unfold in less than three minutes.
02:50In the air, the vehicle reaches a cruising speed of around 256 kilometers per hour
02:55and can travel around 740 kilometers on a tank of premium gasoline.
02:59After landing, the aircraft transforms back into a car,
03:05with the wings and tail safely stowed away,
03:07allowing it to continue the rest of the journey as normal.
03:11The two-seater offers space for two people side by side
03:14as well as storage space for travel bags.
03:19By combining high-tech manufacturing,
03:22individual construction support and real utility value on the road and in the air,
03:25Samson Sky is bringing the concept of the flying car a big step closer to reality
03:30and at a price that is made significantly more attractive by the more efficient production.
03:37If you would like to read the entire article at your leisure,
