00:00Welcome to the video from CarMagazine TuningBlock about the 2025 Mazda CX-5.
00:09The popular SUV gets a major refresh for the 2025 model year with new technical features
00:14and the addition of a front-wheel drive option.
00:18In Australia, the CX-5 remains Mazda's best-selling SUV and the new update is intended to make
00:24it even more appealing.
00:25The revised model will go on sale in June, despite the fact that an all-new generation
00:31is expected towards the end of the year.
00:35One of the most significant changes is the introduction of a new front-wheel drive variant,
00:39the G25 Touring.
00:42At the same time, the all-wheel drive G25 Max Sport has been discontinued.
00:48In total, Mazda offers three different front-wheel drive options for the 225.
00:53In addition, the safety systems have been upgraded and there are more premium than before.
01:00Technical innovations include Mazda's adaptive front-lighting system, which is now standard
01:04on all Touring trims.
01:07Also new for these models is the stop-and-go cruise control system with lane centering,
01:12which was previously only found in the more expensive variants.
01:15Additionally, front parking sensors have been added to the G25 Max Sport variant, while adaptive
01:22LED headlights are now standard equipment from the GTS-P version onwards.
01:28The engine range has changed little.
01:30However, the diesel engine was discontinued in October 2023.
01:35This means that the CX-5 will continue to offer three petrol engines.
01:39The basic J20 Max version is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with
01:46115 kilowatts and 200 newm.
01:50Above that is the 2.5L naturally aspirated engine with 140 kilowatts and 2.52 newm as well
01:56as the 2.5L turbo variant with 170 kilowatts and 420 newm, which is available for the GTSB
02:03and Acurera models.
02:05All engines are coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission, as the manual transmission was
02:10discontinued at the end of 2022.
02:13Pricing details for the 2025 model have not yet been released.
02:18The current model costs between €36,700 and €55,000 plus additional costs.
02:26An all-new CX-5 model with hybrid options has already been confirmed to better compete with
02:31rivals such as the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage.
02:38The new model is expected to be unveiled in September 2025, meaning it could go on sale in
