00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today we're talking about the return of the Hemi V8 engine in the new 2026 Ram 500.
00:10After a period of great dissatisfaction among Ram customers, the manufacturer is bringing back the popular 8-cylinder.
00:19While Ford and GM continued to rely on V8 engines, Ram had temporarily said goodbye to them, which disappointed many fans of the classic Hemi.
00:27Now, Ram has apparently listened to the popular demand and decided to bring back the legendary engine.
00:35The 5.7-liter V8 is returning in its familiar form with a 48-volt e-torque hybrid system that provides additional efficiency.
00:44Its output is an impressive 400 horsepower.
00:48The maximum torque is 556 Newton-meters.
00:51This positions the Hemi between the 3.6-liter V6 with 309 horsepower and the turbocharged 3.0-liter pure six-cylinder Hurricane,
01:02which delivers either 426 or 558 horsepower, depending on the configuration.
01:11A visual identifier for the Hemi under the hood is the so-called symbol of protest badge on the front wings.
01:16This shows a widow's head in front of an eight-cylinder block.
01:22A striking design, even if the name seems a bit contradictory.
01:26After all, Ram is planning to launch the semi-electric Ram Charger and the all-electric Ref in the near future.
01:34But despite these contradictions, the protest symbol is sure to be a talking point.
01:38The V8 variant can be ordered now and is expected at dealerships in the summer.
01:45For models such as the Tradesman, Express, Warlock, Bighorn, Lone Star and Lark, the Hemi add-on costs around 1,100 euros.
01:56The V8 is available at no extra charge for the higher-positioned Limited and Longhorn variants.
02:01The off-road-capable Rebel will also get the Hemi, but not until later.
02:06Prices for this have not yet been announced.
02:08Whether the V8 will also return to the high-performance TRX has not yet been confirmed.
02:14However, in light of recent reports and teasers, an announcement seems possible soon.
02:21Especially exciting, Ram has announced more big revelations for June 8.
