00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Block on the topic of the Kia Concept EV2.
00:11As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:17At the Kia IV Day 2025 in Tarragona, Spain, the manufacturer presented three new electric cars.
00:24While the EV4 hatchback sedan and the PV5 van were already presented as production-ready models, the EV2 is still a study.
00:35The compact SUV is not scheduled to hit the market until 2026 and will expand the model range at the lower end.
00:43The IV2 concept features a playful, robust design, but still contains some elements that are not ready for production.
00:50For example, the typical StormMap daytime running lights have been replaced by silver pole elements and the rear-hinged front doors will probably be replaced by conventional doors in the final version.
01:03The model belongs to the B segment of small cars and is likely to be shorter than the EV3, which is over 4 meters long and with which it could share some technical fundamentals.
01:12Visually, the EV2 features a mix of urban style and off-road influences.
01:19Particularly striking are the vertical daytime running light signature in the typical StormMap design.
01:25Complemented by silver accents on the front and tailgate.
01:31Robust protective cladding ensures a robust look, while the body features a mix of clean lines on the shoulders and gentle curves on the doors.
01:38Despite its off-road appearance, Kia clearly sees the EV2 as a vehicle for the city.
01:47StormMap lights can also be found at the rear, but they are designed in a compact J3 split shape with short horizontal elements.
01:57Inside, Kia relies on a flexible, spacious concept with sustainable materials and modern design elements.
02:03The second row of seats can be folded down so that the front seats can be pushed back during breaks in the journey.
02:13In addition, there are innovative luggage securing options, a smart greeting via a smiley projection in the driver's window and removable triangular speakers.
02:23Kia has not yet released any technical details.
02:26It is likely, however, that the EGMP platform of the other EV models will be used.
02:34If the EV2 is based on the EV3, a front-wheel drive of 150 kW and battery capacities of either 55 or 78 kWh met could be expected.
02:45However, it is also conceivable that Kia will reduce the drive power and only offer a smaller battery.
02:50The market launch of the Kia EV2 is planned for 2026 in Europe and other regions.
02:59This will make it the smallest model in Kia's electric vehicle range to date, at least for the time being.
03:06A possible internal competitor is the Hyundai Insta, which is based on a combustion engine platform.
03:12Outside the group, the Fiat Grande Panda Electric or the Citroen IC3 are among the potential rivals.
03:17The price for the Kia EV2 is likely to start at under €25,000.
03:24However, it remains to be seen what final specifications and pricing Kia will determine before the market launch.
03:31Was the information about the Kia Concept EV2 interesting?
