00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog about the new KTM 990 RCR.
00:14As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:20KTM is once again setting standards in the field of street-legal super-sport motorcycles and,
00:25with the KTM 990 RCR, is launching a bike that consistently continues the brand's racing DNA.
00:32After more than 15 years without a model of this kind,
00:35this motorcycle combines KTM's extensive MotoGP experience with everyday performance for the road.
00:42The KTM 990 RCR is scheduled to be produced in Maticfin at the beginning of 2025 and will
00:48appeal to riders looking for a powerful, agile and incompromisingly sporty motorcycle.
00:55The development of the KTM 990 RCR has been progressing for years and is based on knowledge
01:01gained from numerous victories and titles in the MotoGP categories.
01:06The motorcycle delivers impressive performance figures.
01:10It is powered by a 57kg LC8C engine that meets the strict RO5 Plus standards.
01:15It delivers 103 Nm of torque at 7,000 revolutions per minute and an output of 130 horsepower.
01:25Power is transmitted via a new, ergonomically designed stainless steel exhaust and a gearshift
01:31lever that can be converted to a racing configuration at the factory.
01:34The steel frame is designed for a dynamic riding style and features a front heavyweight distribution.
01:42A special 25-degree steering head angle and optimized offset ensure particularly precise steering.
01:52The increased rigidity ensures stability on uneven roads and racetracks without compromising agility,
01:58especially at low speeds.
02:02An additional die cast aluminum boom contributes to the improved riding feel.
02:09KTM paid particular attention to ergonomics and used an intensive testing phase to optimize the six contact points on the fuel tank.
02:16These improvements are intended to enable a better connection between rider and machine by providing comfort and support for the knees and arms,
02:27while reducing pressure on the hands when cornering and at high speed on the straights.
02:33The new fuel tank plays a central role in this concept.
02:38Complemented by adjustable footrests and a fully adjustable WP Apex open cartridge fork,
02:44lightweight cast aluminum wheels fitted with Michelin tires complete the chassis.
02:50The bike's MotoGP heritage is clearly evident.
02:54This is evident not only in the aggressive lines of the fairing,
02:58but also in aerodynamic elements that were optimized in the wind tunnel.
03:03The integrated aero wings provide additional stability during braking and cornering,
03:08while other fairing elements clearly borrow from racing.
03:11Anyone who wants to take the KTM 990 RCR to the racetrack can convert it to the KTM 990 RCR track edition with just a few modifications.
03:25The modifications are limited to the removal of street legal components,
03:29the addition of protective components, fine tuning, and a revised racing fairing with a full exhaust system.
03:35These conversions are carried out directly at the KTM factory in Austria to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
03:47This allows riders to concentrate fully on their lap times without having to compromise on ease of maintenance or support from official KTM dealers.
03:55To mark the market launch, KTM is accompanying the unveiling of the KTM 990 RCR with a multi-part documentary offering an exclusive look behind the scenes of the development process.
04:08From the initial concept ideas to the final road legal version, viewers will get a deep insight into the technical implementation of a modern super-sport motorcycle.
