00:00Welcome to the tuning blog video about the new KTM 990 Duke Air model for 2025.
00:12If you haven't subscribed yet, now would be the perfect time to not miss anything.
00:17The new KTM 99 Duke Air makes a real statement with a whopping 130hp and its aggressive look, including some pumpkin-colored elements.
00:26It's not for nothing that it's nicknamed the Punisher.
00:32As a reinforced air version of the recently introduced 990 Duke, KTM is targeting everyone who wants to experience the ready-to-race feeling to the full with this model.
00:42A little history.
00:44The 990 Duke was launched in 2024 as a mid-range motorcycle with an inline two-cylinder engine and over 120hp.
00:52But that wasn't enough for KTM.
00:54To celebrate 30 years of the KTM Duke and fittingly on Halloween, KTM presented the 990 Duke Air, which boasts 130hp instead of the originally expected 128hp.
01:07A full 7hp more than the standard version.
01:11This power boost is provided by new engine control software for the LC8C twin with unchanged 947cc.
01:18The rated speed climbs to 10,500 revolutions per minute, which further exploits the potential for sporty riding.
01:28Interestingly, the engine itself has hardly been changed, which enables smooth yet powerful power delivery.
01:34The maximum torque of 103 Nm is retained, so full power at every opportunity.
01:41The chassis of the 990 Duke Air has also been upgraded.
01:45A 48mm upside-down fork in open cartridge design and a WP Apex central shock absorber ensure stability.
01:55At the rear, the swingarm has been fitted with a modified rocker arm, which makes the machine sit slightly higher with an additional 15mm seat height and ground clearance.
02:04The front suspension travel remains almost identical at 143mm, however, it has been reduced to 140mm at the rear.
02:13The stiffer setup provides 3 degrees more lean angle, which significantly supports ambitious cornering.
02:19And when it comes to brakes, the KTM 990 Duke Air goes one step further.
02:25The Brembo-style monoblock brake calipers and the larger 320mm brake discs at the front ensure absolute control, even during hard braking maneuvers.
02:36In addition, the 990 Duke R2 is 190kg lighter than the standard model and weighs just 190kg including the 15L tank.
02:45However, the titanium exhaust system shown in the first pictures is an accessory and is not included as standard.
02:54Another highlight of the 990 Duke Air is the large TFT display with an 8.8-inch screen diagonal and touchscreen functionality.
03:03This makes operating features such as smartphone connectivity and map navigation particularly intuitive.
03:08There are also new handlebar switches and, for ambitious riders, there are the new ABS modes Sport and Supermoto Plus.
03:18These modes are ideal for reaching the physical limits, where the rear wheel may occasionally lock up slightly when braking.
03:25Perfect for controlled drifts.
03:27The KTM 990 Duke Air will be available from the beginning of 2025.
03:33Although there are no exact pricing details yet, based on the current price of the 99 Duke without the R,
03:39it is estimated that the Airveon will probably cost at least 15,490 euros.
03:45An upper-mid-range model that is well worth its price.
