married couple and a member of the air force pleaded not guilty in the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Friday (Oct 31) to a charge of submitting a false quotation worth RM24,200 for the supply of equipment for the 2025 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025).

00:00A 51-year-old Army officer and his wife, as well as a member of the Air Force, have been charged
00:07with fraud involving the procurement process for this year's Langkawi International Maritime and
00:12Aerospace Exhibition. Lieutenant Colonel Shahrul Nizam Shafin, who serves as Principal Assistant
00:19Secretary of the Defense Industry Division at MINDEF, his 36-year-old wife, Chitra Angrini
00:25al-Mapiazze, and RMAF Corporal Mohamed Amir Bakri Che Abdul pleaded not guilty to a charge of
00:32submitting a false quotation worth RM24,200 for the supply of equipment for Lima 2025.
00:40According to the prosecution, Chitra Angrini, who is currently five months pregnant, allegedly deceived
00:47the Chief of Staff at the Air Operations Command headquarters in Subang by submitting a fraudulent
00:52quotation for a company called Protective Trading and Advisory Services in May this year.
00:58The prosecution alleges this false quotation was designed to influence the approval of another
01:04company, D-Draxis Group Sendirian Berhad, as the supplier for support equipment for the Lima 2025
01:11exhibition. Her husband and the corporal were also charged with abetting in the scheme.
01:16The offence was allegedly committed on May 13 this year.
01:20All three were charged under Section 417 of the Penal Code, while the charges against
01:25Shahrul Nizam and Mohamed Amir were also read under Section 109 of the Penal Code.
01:31The court set bail at RM8,000 for Chitra Angrini and RM7,000 each for Shahrul Nizam and Mohamed Amir.
01:39All three have been ordered to surrender their passports, report monthly to the MACC,
01:45and not to intimidate witnesses. The court set December 8 for mention.
